1. Yeah... and the smart move was to wait until after the season was over to re-sign him.

Denney showed me more last year than Kelsay has in all 3 years combined in. Right now, I think Denney's got some game, and Kelsay is a BUST... time for CK to finally step up.

    740180

What??? Aren't you impressed with Kelsay's "High Motor"?:D I seriously believe that you may see Denney starting by mid-season if Kelsay doesn't start to show some productivity. I'm not sure I believe what I just wrote. :D

  2. Well that just means the onside kicks will be kicked down the middle of the field than toward the sideline.  That way you can still buch up as close to the kicker as possible but still have at least 4 guys on either side of him.  In a sense it's like the onside kicks we used to see but now instead of the kicker being on the far right or far left of the 10 players he will be in the middle.

That is certainly a way around it.

  3. Not to worry. Sadly, he (and he is not alone) is trying to dominate the board, and set a tone where questiong/criticism/disagreement with the party line is not allowed.

This board would suck if everybody toed the party line. In reality, the fact that we can discuss issues Bills issues and disagree is one of the things that makes TBD the best site on the web.

    738500

Amen. No matter what anybody posts here, come the regular season everybody wants to see the Bills win.

  4. George Wilson, Nance, J. Smith, A. Davis, Aiken...at least 4 of these guys is not going to make the team, most likely. And they're all good enough to be at least #3 WR on any team, possibly with the exception of Nance.

    738522

What makes you believe that any of these WR's are good enough to be a #3 on all other NFL teams when except for Davis, none of them have ever filled that role in the NFL? I don't know what Aiken, Wilson or Smith have done with the Bills that led you to this opinion?

  5. For the last 3 years while Posey was for the most part invisible, all I heard was that "he was doing what the coaches asked him to do in that scheme". I've never heard of a scheme where you are almost NEVER involved in the play. Even by accident, he should have made a play now and then. I guess Jauron had a different impression of his play.

    Good-bye and good riddance.

  6. Anyways, I'm not concerned with Buffalo's lack of money besides holding onto the Bills. I make a good living and many others do also. For now its a SAFE town, which is close knit and FRIENDLY. Buffalo has a CHARM which people like. Its a great place to raise a FAMILY, even if it does not fit the college graduate lifestyle. However much I leave, I always plan on returning to raise my KIDS. ... that is unless they start bringing in the casino's.

    736369

Are you talking about the city or the suburbs? All you have to do is look at the city school system and you would know that it is NOT a great place to raise kids. Even without kids, there are only a few areas of the city worth living in. The rest are a joke.

  7. I highly doubt that Coach Jauron is on TBD every day trying to see what input us devout (and crazy at times) fans have to offer.

    736614

You mean Coach Jauron doesn't read what's posted here? Next thing I know, you are going to tell me there is no Santa Claus.

Seriously...If you are tired of QB related threads, start ones that deal with other positions. :D

  8. Ding.  I'm all for Casinos in Atlantic City, Vegas, and on various indian casinos.  But when does a struggling city need a regressive tax on the poor and a to choke the life out of the remaining small buisnesses.

    735079

Have you been in the area where they wanted to build the casino? What small businesses are down there? Except for the Perry projects and surface parking lots for the arena, there has been nothing there for 20 years or more.

  9. This city continues to be unable to get out of it's own way....

The casino project is in jeopardy, because the city won't sell some piece of s-h-i-t land that has been vacant forever to the Senecas. Why...because the Senecas won't promise that 1/2 of the employees will be city residents and 1/3 minorities or women.

So instead, we get some half a$$ building with a 100 slot machines.

F*** the city of Buffalo politicians. I'll never believe a single word that comes out of their mouths.

  10. 10. Marv's constipated

    9. The players don't like training camp

    8. There is an X-box tourney tonight in McGahee's room

    7. Jauron gave his thoughts on bullhorns and alarm clocks

    6. The grass was green

    5. Players are encouraged to watch their fluids

    4. Moorman & Lindell thumb wrestle when nobody else is looking

    3. Vincent didn't hit anybody wearing a red jersey

    2. Coy Wire is still having problems with his angles.

    1. There was a Chuck Lester sighting...He wasn't doing anything! :w00t:

  11. I have not heard that we would lose it stated, but as Time Warner does not contract with them and we are about to become part of the TW service this seems logical.

One other thing I think should be looked into is what ability a change in owners of Adelphia's contract gives the City of Buffalo the right to opt out of or re-open the contract.

If this is the case, then City government can be asked/forced to exert pressure on TW to give and activist group of voters what they want (access to as much Bills stuff as we can get including NFL Network.

The City of Buffalo Telecommunications Office would have information about these issues and is the point to exert leverage on the City to leverage TW.  Their number is:

    (716) 851-4297

and the head of the office was a fellow named Tom Tarapacki (though this may have changed in the transfer from Mayor Maisello to Mayor Brown.

If you are simply interested in whining then whine in your posts.  If you are interested in doing something about this in the real world, then call the Telecommunications Office and ask them what ability the City will have to re-open the contract with a transfer of owners and whether we will retain all channel we get now including the NFL Network for Bills stuff.

    731041

Since you quoted my post, I assume you are talking to me?? First of all, I don't live in the city of Buffalo, so I don't know what good it would do for me to call them. In addition, who's whining? All I said was that I had heard that the channel lineup may stay the same.

  12. Here's more crap coming from WGR (aka Two Sabres Drive).

Sabres re-signed Tim Connolly for three years. I can't believe they reported this on the day the Bills signed McCargo.

    731028

What horseshit this is. Who cares about goddam hockey in July!

  13. Why can't WGR get Whitner's mother on so that we know what the latest and greatest is! In addition to contract negotiations, she can tell us what he had for breakfast, what his favorite toy was as a boy and if he had a solid BM this morning.

Stop talking about the stupid Sabres in July!

  14. The amazing thing about this if real life events substantiated this claim would be that the Bills D finished 5th statistically in the league three seasons ago with an inadequate starter at SLB and then even improved to finish 2nd in the league two years ago with the same inadequate SLB.

One would think that the OCs in the league noticed his inadequate play 3 seasons ago and then picked on it, but siomehow the team improved its performance despite his inadequate play which could even be noted by fans such as yourself.

I think the evidence indicates that Posey actually performed a lot as part of a successful unit 3 seasons ago and that with him logging lots of minutes and having lots of responsiblities the unit improved 2 seasons ago.

I think the reasonable conclusion here is that Posey was a favorite whipping boy of some on TSW and though his play and much of the rest of the D was inadequate last year, he actually performed well in his job in 2003 and 2004.

If you or anyone disagrees (particularly if this was so obvious) then it should be simple for you to point to the several examples of the player he was covering beating him for a TD or a large gain in 03 or 04.

I do not think you can because fact is though he sucked last year he was a solid starter for us in 03 and 04.

    730990

Maybe there was just not a better alternative in 03 and 04. Doesn't mean he was a solid starter.

  15. All kinds of early news today missed by the Sabres Hockey Network.  Imagine the pain of the hosts this morning having to actually talk about practice for a minute and see that Crowell was out there instead of Jeff Posey.

Wow, two major stories that were missed.

But hey, "Lets break a minute for station identification, this is the Sabres hockey network"

    730818

    Where are the major stories..

Crowell lining up in place of Posey during the FIRST PRACTICE OF TRAINING CAMP? WOW! Posey has been below average for 3 years now, why is it a surprise that he has been moved to 2nd string for ONE PRACTICE!

I'm not even sure what the 2nd major story is that you are referring to? McCargo? He's not Reggie Bush. Most people have never seen McCargo play a snap(myself included). Other than mentioning that he signed during 20/20 sports, what discussion do you want to have about him that wasn't already covered when he was drafted.

You don't like hockey...GOOD FOR YOU. News flash...A lot of WGR listeners do.

PS It could be worse. They could be doing non-sports talk which happens way too often!

  16. Good deals, agreed.  Anyone keeping a running tab on the Sabres' team salary so far?  We need a Sabres' clumpy.

    730102

As I posted over in the Sabres Report...

Add in Briere at 5 mil and you are up to 29+ mil. Yet to go...Max, Dumont, Connolly, Gaustad, Mair, Miller & Kalinin. That would be 22 players. I'm not sure how many have to count against the cap, but I will take a wild guess and say that in order to retain all these players, Tommy G's purse strings are going to have to open wide enough to pull out 40+ million.

  17. I'm not sure if it 5 long disappointing years of the TD regime, not being in the playoffs for so long, the Sabres having a ton of success this past year or something else, but I don't ever remember feeling less excited about a training camp that is about to open. If I had to describe it in one word it would be...indifferent.

Hopefully all it will take is one visit to training camp to get pumped up for the season. :)
