1. Biggest Impact Player: Willis McGahee I feel Willis Mcgahee is primed to have the best numbers of his early career this year. Willis came into minicamp closer to his college weight, which means his will be playing with more agility and speed (and don't forget that killer stiffarm). Finally Willis will be involved in the passing game this year (he only had 27 catches last year for 178 yds).  Also, the Bills won't be all fancy and cute in the red zone this year, let's just say Mr. Mcgahee will be raking in more TDs this year.

Ah yes...the great WM straight arm. The one we saw as an effective weapon in 2004, but that became non-existant in 2005. :o

  2. Substitution and offsides questions from a very casual fan...

Why not allow "on the fly" substitutions instead of the limited substitution rule that currently exists? This would allow players to come on and off as much as they want.

Also, why not have a fixed "offsides" line where a player in the offensive zone can't cross before the ball(much like the blue line in hockey) instead of this moving offsides line that is determined by the position of the defender?

  3. blah, blah, blah...PFT sucks, PFW blows, ESPN is a joke, yahoo.com doesn't know anything about football, etc...

Who F***ing cares!! The minute any of these media outlets do a 180 and say something good about the Bills, a TSW ballwashing of epic proportions will take place proclaiming the author to be the only guy in the world who knows anything about football. :o

  4. I'm not a soccer fan, but I've watched bits and pieces so far and will try to catch the semifinals and finals. That being said, I've got a beef with the use of the term "NIL".

I don't care if soccer enthusiasts around the world want to use this term, but every sports broadcaster(radio & TV) feel that they MUST now use this terminology. Hey bozo's...it's okay to say France beat Brazil ONE TO NOTHING. The soccer nazis won't crucify you for saying it the way you would refer to any other 1-0 score.

  5. I think the only TBD'er whose posts I'll read even though they're long is Johnny Coli. I'll read a FFS post unless I start seeing numbered headings (which is lke 50% of the time lol), then I pass on it and hope that someone else actually read the whole thing and then quoted the relevant point in their response

When I first opened this thread my answer would have been "never read long posts", but you reminded me of Johnny Coli....I always read his American Idol reviews. :pirate:

  6. Simpson was the Michael Jordan of my youth, and he played for the team that played in my hometown.  That was a golden era of professional sports.  We had Gilbert Perreault in his prime, the great Bob McAdoo and the crown jewel, OJ Simpson.

I don't think casual sports fans, can understand the feelings that some older Bills fans have about Simpson.  Yes, I think he is slime, a scumbag...but about 3 or 4 years ago, I had to put it in perspective for myself.  OJ is a horrible person, but he was one hell of a football player.  I can't let what he did in the summer of 1993, sully my memeries of what he did in the autumn months of the 1970's.  They have become two different guys to me...the OJ I loved, died in 1993...I wouldn't piss on him if he was on fire now...

    715849

I grew up watching OJ(along with McAdoo and Perreault) and I agree with everything you said.

OJ was head and shoulders above Thurman as a RB. Unfortunately, bad teams, stupid coaches and injury problems stopped him from being possibly the best of all time.

Thurman was very good, but no comparison.

  7. The political and bureaucratic landscape of western new york makes it impossible to accomplish any new initiatives in a timely manner.  Remember the report on the local stations about removing the seats in the Aud?  The city said it would have to sell the seats for $200 a pop just to cover the removal costs.....$200 to get 1 friggen seat out of an old arena.  That right there speaks volumes.  There is so much red tape encircling the city because there are so few pies and everyone wants to have their fingers in one.

    716197

This($200 per seat cost for removal) is a bunch of bull sh-- by some city hack. You can't convince me that after you figure in the expense of someone to remove all the seats, that the money you would bring by selling them would not exceed the removal cost.

  8. The AUD would make a far better Convention Center than what Buffalo now uses as a convention center.

Great location, convenient parking and it could even draw more hotels and restaurants down to that end of Main Stif it were marketed properly.

    716164

You still have to have something to attract conventioneers to Buffalo other than the convention center itself. If they can develop the inner harbor and get the casino up and running, turning the Aud into a convention center could be viable. If not, it would be hard to justify building a new convention center when you look at the volume of business that the current one attracts.

  9. I just don't understand spending all that money on a Bass Pro.  Come on, is that really going to contribute to the renaissance of Buffalo.

There is a Brass Pro in Ft. Lauderdale.  I have been there a couple of times.  It is fine.  I just do not see "tourists" traveling to Buffalo to go to an outdoor store.

The money would be better spent on something else.

    716140

Fishing and hunting are big in WNY and putting the ultimate outdoor store at the foot of one of the Great Lakes would appear to be a win win situation.

The money would be spent better on something else development wise? Let's hear some ideas?

  10. To be the best Plan B (better than Bass Pro actually) is to make the Aud the home of the Buffalo Sports Hall of Fame (instead of that wall at HSBC Arena) As the Aud was home to the majority of the sports teams that have played in Buffalo. Another plan (of course I'm no architect) that makes sense is make it a casino since it's accessable via the subway and bus routes and would bring visitors to downtown Buffalo.

    715878

Too late on the casino idea. The new casino is going down the street on the other side of the HSBC arena.

  11. I'm not sure when the first time I heard that Bass Pro may be moving into the Aud, but is seems like it has been going on for at least 3 years if not more. As another summer goes by with no formal decision by them to open a store in the Aud, I wonder...who is at fault?

Is the Bass Pro owner trying to squeeze every last nickel out of the city, county & state or is it the developers/politicians/businessmen on the Buffalo side of the fence F***ing this up like everything else in WNY from a development perspective?

The worst part about it...there is no Plan B for the Aud. There is so much concrete in there, that it would cost a fortune to demolish, so it will probably just continue to sit in a mothballed status for who knows how long if Bass Pro does not come to fruition.

  12. Way to be credible yahoo...Top 10 "theme" parks include an old boardwalk amusment park in Mrytle Beach, but no mention of any of the Disneyworld parks.:)

  13. Dead cap for all players gone is already accounted for in the calculations and the amount devoted to the 2006 cap is at the bottom of the chart

Before we start extending players, about $3 million will be needed for signing draft picks. Yes, I know it's different than the rookie cap number but that's because not all rookie deals count on the overall cap only vs rookie pool........I'll explain this later

I also would make the safe assumption that about $1.5 million would go to the bonuses for those players I do not have info on yet......thus, the Bills would have about $6-7 million PLUS cap space gained from releasing players before the season starts....

    713093

Is most of the dead cap attributed to Moulds and Mike Williams?

  14. "Notice how he hasn't responded to all the "size is good" stuff I posted from coaches and players?"

There is absolutely nothing to respond to.  What you have done there is PARROTED.  Your PARROTING there is absolutely blown out of the water by the reality of S. Moss, Mason, Smith etc., and yet because it is "guru parroting" you sit there with your beak up sure it is true.  What is true is that NFL morons like Jack Del Rio of Jacksonville agree with your BIRDBRAIN that TALL=GOOD and waste a fortune on

    JJ Stokes

    Donald Hayes

04 #9 overall pick Reggie Williams

05 #22 overall pick Matt Jones

and have very little to show for it except a flock of BAWKING MORONS incapable of assessing the obvious...
