  1. Our DEFENSE is solid now.  I know we may have not made the most popular picks with a lot of people, but we drafted quality players on Day 1.

Here is what we have (in terms of Starters) as of the end of Day 1 of the draft:

    DEFENSE

DE - Kelsay:  Here is a guy that did show improvement last year.  I thought we would get a little more out of him last year than we did after watching training camp and the preseason, but he really started to improve last year.  Besides, he really didn't have any help in the middle last year.  This year, with Tripplet and McCargo, we got 2 guys that are quick and can create a new line of scrimmage.  This will in turn help Kelsay progress nicely.  He is not an All-Pro, probably never will be, but I like the fit for this defense.

I disagree on Kelsay completely. I thought he would step up last year after a promising rookie campaign. Instead he was invisible for the majority of the season.

  2. huge buckeye fan here!  But I have never been impressed with Whitner.. He is good and solid.. but not game changing.. he will be good.... with luck have a carreer like henry jones.... don't expect anything more!

To take him at 8 just amazes me... He is not that good... Whitner does not have that much upside!

    oh well..

    go bucks!

Thanks. I feel better now. :(

  3. The words in Bold tell me everything I need to know why Whitner was drafter #1 by Marv...

It's okay that he was the #1 pick of the Bills...just not as the # friggin' 8 overall pick.

I walked away from the TV because I didn't want to hear anyone ridicule the bills for taking this guy WAY TOO HIGH!!!

    :(:doh::doh::doh::doh:

I want the fyou smiley and I want it now!!!!

  4. What is with the Elliott love fest from the judges? Am I missing something? Is he really as good as the judges say he is?

I think he's good, but not that good. He's been middle of the pack in this competition to me, and I think it's only a matter of time.

Also, why were the judges putting the hate on Katharine so much? She was great tonight. Oh well, she's safe anyway.

I'm with you on this one. Elliott is okay, but not deserving of the praise they give him week after week. I also thought Katherine was good and not deserving of the criticism they gave her last night...but then again, I might have been distracted while she was singing. ;)

  5. Anybody but Daughtry & McFunbags as the final two would be a letdown.

BTW...I am the only one who feels that the theme nights suck this year? Kenny Rogers, Rod Stewart(singing old songs), Bocelli, Barry Manilow? Pick up the tempo and give Spaz something to get excited about...

    50's night(The Twist)

    Beatles night(Helter Skelter)

    Stones night(Jumpin' Jack Flash)

    Buddy Holly night(Rave On)

Now Spaz doing these songs would be "must see TV".

  6. I'm sure the manager blew me off for a few reasons. First, admitting that your staff did something wrong might require him to take some sort of action (comp'd meal or chastising the waitress). Secondly it would mean that he had to take the word of an irate customer over his staff, which is not always a good thing.

Rule # 1 - Customer is always right.

    Rule # 2 - See Rule # 1

Face it. Most(not all) people in customer service related positions just don't give a sh-- anymore.

  7. I've heard it's terribly boring.  And be prepared to pay $40 for lunch at the Garden.  I'll take it on TV, thanks, and I live in the city!

Why would you be eating an expensive lunch at the Garden when the draft is being held at Radio City Music Hall? :P

  8. Sorry, mean no disrepect but the new Mayor of Buffalo has to go.  This guy doesn't have a clue.  Yeah, Buffalo will survive without the Bills - but it will be one miserable place.

Brown Says Buffalo Can Survive Without Bills

    Link

Apr 10, 2006 - The Mayor of Buffalo is now weighing in on the future of the Buffalo Bills. This comes one day after Bills owner Ralph Wilson said he can't guarantee the team will stay in Western New York.

Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown says he will offer his assistance to the Bills anyway he can. Brown does not want to see the team go, but did say Buffalo would survive if the team picked up and left. Wilson believes the new NFL collective bargaining agreement will hamper small market teams and jeopardizes the long term viability of the Bills in Western New York.

Brown has a vision for a new downtown stadium, but wouldn't elaborate if that would come to life soon or help the Bills stay in the area.

What more can he say than what I highlighted in bold. He is the mayor of a city that is under control board rule. What exactly is it that you want him to do?
