  2. Dead cap for all players gone is already accounted for in the calculations and the amount devoted to the 2006 cap is at the bottom of the chart

Before we start extending players, about $3 million will be needed for signing draft picks. Yes, I know it's different than the rookie cap number but that's because not all rookie deals count on the overall cap only vs rookie pool........I'll explain this later

I also would make the safe assumption that about $1.5 million would go to the bonuses for those players I do not have info on yet......thus, the Bills would have about $6-7 million PLUS cap space gained from releasing players before the season starts....

Is most of the dead cap attributed to Moulds and Mike Williams?

  3. "Notice how he hasn't responded to all the "size is good" stuff I posted from coaches and players?"

There is absolutely nothing to respond to.  What you have done there is PARROTED.  Your PARROTING there is absolutely blown out of the water by the reality of S. Moss, Mason, Smith etc., and yet because it is "guru parroting" you sit there with your beak up sure it is true.  What is true is that NFL morons like Jack Del Rio of Jacksonville agree with your BIRDBRAIN that TALL=GOOD and waste a fortune on

    JJ Stokes

    Donald Hayes

04 #9 overall pick Reggie Williams

05 #22 overall pick Matt Jones

and have very little to show for it except a flock of BAWKING MORONS incapable of assessing the obvious...

Can you at least learn how to quote text from another post.:lol:

  4. The Bills finished 5-11 last year and in the off-season got rid of a knucklehead HC, an aging WR & a good but over-the-hill SS.

If Losman or Nall can step up to the plate, I don't see why the Bills can't finish 8-8. Sooner or later the Bills have to get lucky and find some good OL. Whitner will start and be a solid player. TKO will come back to form. Nate will be out to show he wants the BIG F/A dollars.

    GO BILLS!!!

  5. I believe most of us have had a case of sarcastic smartass-itis at one time or the other here on TSW, but some get carried away with it.

That being said, nothing is going to change, so we all just tolerate each other or end up leaving in a huff(some even come back after a while  ).

keep reaching for willis bashing commens blue. But you did do a good job of taking something completely out of context and twisting it to fit your willis-hating arguement.

Read the article, and it talks about how willis feels he was mis-used last season. His not talking to fairchild means that he's not going to whine to fairchild to keep him in there on 3rd downs. He means that he assumes fairchild is smart enough to keep him in the game during those situations, and not be a complete retard like mularkey.

Did you see the laughing smilies at the end of the post. It was a joke. Lighten up and take a break from the Willis ballwashing. :)

  7. He really is an awful tackler, it's hard to watch.  I've seen him purposely slow down or shuffle laterally to allow someone else to jump in and make the tackle.  Not a good fit at all for a team that wants to gang tackle with "everyone running to the ball".  When he does get near the ball, be it tackling or in pass defense, he has no explosion left in his body.  He's sprung.  I'm not saying he's a coward, I just think he knows he can't play physical and remain healthy, which makes him a liability against the run if nothing else.

And he's a step slow in reacting at safety, something we didn't expect from a guy who was a Pro Bowl CB the season before he came here.  We thought we were getting the next Rod Woodson, instead we got a poor man's Mark Kelso(Kelso was much better at taking away the deep ball).  He has improved some in that regard.  With the exception of the Cleveland game in 2004, his first 10 or so games with the Bills he made Pierson Prioleau look like Ed Reed by comparison.  AWFUL.  But it's hard to believe any gains he makes with experience at safety won't be offset or outweighed by his declining physical skills.

To me, the third strike is his union presence.  I don't want a powerful union rep on a team that is going to have to jump thru hoops 24/7 just to be competitive.  Successful teams all have lots of players who are willing to throw their bodies around for the team and put in tons of extra work to outperform the competition.  Vincent doesn't do that on the field, and whether he is in their ears about it or not, he is not a positive influence, IMO.  Give me Rodney Harrison, you can have Troy Vincent.

Great post. No need to add anything else!

...QB UPDATE: Craig Nall had his best passing day this offseason. His passes had more zip, he was more decisive in where he was going with the ball. Perhaps the light bulb is going on for him with respect to the offense because he wasn't hesitating and pumping and hitching like he had been in previous camps. He was also more accurate which was good to see, and as I suspected I wouldn't be surprised if it was because he didn't have to rush any of his throws. When he was slow to make some reads he would still try to stick a ball in a tight spot, but because his read was late, he'd try to muscle a ball in and it wouldn't get there in time or go for an INT. Today he was in a good rhythm.

Kelly Holcomb on the other hand was not his consistent self. His accuracy was off, he couldn't find a rhythm and made some poor choices with the football. One of his passes was tipped by Josh Stamer and intercepted by Jabari Greer in the end zone.

J.P. Losman performed well in the 2-minute drill. He effectively marched the team down the field. They started around their own 40 with exactly 2 minutes on the clock. They needed a TD and had a timeout at their disposal. It took him six plays to score. And Martin Nance had two big plays on the drive. He converted a 2nd-and-20 and the TD. George Wilson had a nice gainer too.

jerome bettis says he'll be fine for this season, and rooney says the reports from the hospital are "encouraging."

    707343[/snapback]

Thanks Dr. Bettis. I didn't realize how easy it was to make a diagnosis several hours after the fact and 3000 miles away.:lol:

"First, it's good to see he's not in bad shape, as a friend, and to make sure he's OK," said Bettis. "Another good thing is it is minor enough that it shouldn't affect him on the field this fall."

  10. Yes, because appearing on NFL total access obviously occupied his entire offseason. It probably took them months to film that segment, so obviously willis had no OTHER time to work out or go over the playbook or anything.

First off he was there all week long during one of the OTA's, not for 15 minutes while they taped an interview.. Also, what message does it send to his veteran teammates that have been at all or at least some of the voluntary OTA's.

In summary, he's not worth even arguing about because when his contract is up, he is gone.
