  1. usualy the agent talks up a storm to try and gain sympathy for his client . we haven't heard a peep from ugene parker. makes me wonder if peters surgery didn't go well and he can't play. hmmmm

This makes no sense at all. If his surgery didn't go well and he was still hurt, he would still show up and GET PAID under the terms of his current contract instead of sitting home and NOT GET PAID. hmmmm.

  2. he's played at about this weight his whole career. in the offseason he was asked a lot about it (by fans) and he indicated that most pass rushing DE's are playing around this weight range despite what they're listed at.

Nobody really knows what weight Schobel or any other DE is playing at, but IF his play is lacking and he appears to be getting pushed around, this is the first question that will be asked.

  3. I was listening to the sirius nfl channel when they announced this as "breaking" news. Where is the news? A former NFL QB who won't sign a contract to be a backup(he had at least 2 offers, GB and another team) and turned both down because he wanted to compete for a starting job. He was unemployed the entire offseason and is still unemployed today. Who cares! The season starts tonight and Shein and Wilcots couldn't stop droaning on about Culpepper.

  4. Sad to see a young, talented guy throw a way his career...

Give it a rest already. How is he throwing away his career in the NFL?

He isn't the first guy to hold out(including the regular season) and he won't be the last. His future may not be with the Bills depending on how this plays out, but he still will have a long NFL career unless there is something going on behind the scenes that hasn't been made public yet.

  5. Schoop only talks about the Sabres because the games are carried on WGR. If not, it would be non stop tennis and baseball followed by anything non sports related.

Sirius radio is a wonderful thing.

  6. For the year... I'll go ahead and guess he'll have 15 for the year. Not epic or anything, but a solid rookie season.

Not epic? If he scored 15 TD's it would be beyond epic. Here are the league leaders in receiving TD's since 2000...

    07 - 23

    06 - 13

    05 - 12

    04 - 16

    03 - 17

    02 - 13

    01 - 16

    00 - 15

These are the best WR's playing with the best QB's in the NFL, yet you expect a 2nd round rookie who may not be starting, to get 15 TD's this year playing with a 2nd year QB who is without his LT? Any other predictions?

  7. I'm always skeptical about these attendance numbers that are tossed out. This weekend in Cincy, there was Riverfest - a one-day event... a very large fireworks show. They are shot off from barges in the Ohio River. It is well-attended, but they claimed an attendance of 500K.

The Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky metro area encompasses 15 counties, with a population of two million. I find it hard to believe that 1/4 of the metro population crowded along a mile stretch on the banks of the Ohio this past Sunday night.

That same weekend, a small town in Hamilton County claimed that 200K attended "A Taste of Blue Ash". The annual "Taste of Cincinnati routinely pegs their attendance at 500K.

The Buffalo News seems to do a piece every summer about how these numbers get inflated. Taste of Buffalo and the Allentown Art Festival in particular seem have "high" numbers every year.

  8. No new deal ever for a fat, lazy, broken-down, outa-shape knucklehead who decided to just walk away from a career in the NFL and huge sums of $$$.

Geez, how stupid can that guy be? What's he gonna do now - empty bedpans for a living?

Where did you read that he is walking away from an NFL career? Last time I looked, he hadn't even missed a single game check...yet.

  9. Yes I believe we are witnessing the quickest NFL career flameout since Brian Bosworth. Too bad - Peters was a pretty decent player before he tore up his groin and let his body go to fat. Coulda been one of the best - and highest paid - if he'd stuck with it instead of getting so lazy.

Peters is now lazy and fat?:thumbsup: It's amazing on TSW how fast players go from the penthouse to the outhouse(Peters) and vice versa(Youboty).

  10. Peters silence throughout the holdout is puzzling to me. Except for a couple of reported text exchanges between Dockery and Peters, there has been no reported media contact at all. I'm not even sure there has been a statement from Parker.

I'm not saying it is the right way to go, but don't the players and/or agents sometimes use the media during contract disputes in order to sway public opinion their way?

I really thought he would show up after the team broke training camp...now I'm not sure when(if) he will show up.

  11. Exactly, we just don`t know what we would be getting. Is he not reporting because of injury, contract ,weight issue, or drug related. I think it`s too late for him to make an IMPACT.

Why would he not report because of injury or weight issue? Under both these scenarios, he would still get paid vs. getting fined on a daily basis.

  12. I take issue with the idea that he was "burned". He actually had great coverage, he simply misjudged his jump. He was in perfect position to make the INT. To me, getting burned is getting faked out, or outrun, or outfought for the ball, or not covering your man. The play last night was something that probably isnt going to happen again. Then later in the game, isolated, he had fabulous coverage. I have no problem with what I have seen from McKelvin. We don't need him to start. He may not even start the season as the nickel. But he looks like he is going to be a very good player. He's got speed, and he's got ridiculous athletic ability.

I agree 100%. For the OP to say that McKelvin is not only behind Corner, but also Youboty on the CB depth chart(based on a couple of preseason games) is flat out ridiculous.

  13. I love the kid's agility which can't be taught. A year in the program to work on his strength and he can start at left tackle in the NFL. Maybe another reason not to renegotiate Peters.

One training camp and a couple of preseason games and you are ready to say that in a year he will be ready to step in for Peters. I'm as pissed at Peters as anyone, but get real. The Bills need Peters and they need him by opening day.
