  1.

But, I'm sorry, some of you guys make me absolutely sick with some of these posts. Most of you guys have no reason to be getting upset about this troopers death; and the only reason some of you are getting upset and saying things like "!@#$ you Bucky" is only because you feel as though your safety has been jeoprodized.

I can only hope this post was written during a very drunken stupor. Who the F*** are you to say that no one here has a reason to be upset about this trooper being shot. :w00t::lol:

  2. Here is what it comes down to. The current coaching staff (unlike one's in the past) actually know more about football and talent than we (a bunch of guys and gals on an internet message board) do ... that simple

Thanks Captain Obvious. I don't think most here believe they know more than the coaching staff or front office, but does that mean no one should state their opinion on what is going on with their favorite team.

    :w00t::lol:

  3. Who cares about Fast Freddie Smith. He couldn't make it as one of the Bills 6 WR's and I doubt he is going to become an All Pro in NE. He is going to tell them all about our playbook...BIG DEAL. Is he going to whisper each play in Belichik's ear as we come to the LoS?

Fast Freddie you've only been an ex-Bill for one day, but you're gone and certainly forgotten.

  4. For what it is worth, last night, we went to a local restaurant/sports bar chain that just opened up a new location near where we live in Miami.

While we were waiting for our table, O.J. walked by.  When I was growing up in Buffalo, we lived near where O.J. lived.  I used to go over to his house, he always was one of the nicest "celebrities" (especially compared to some of the other people that I have met) and was very generous with his time.

Of course, you guys and the rest of the world know the rest of the story and can draw your own conclusions.

In any event, we talked last night for about 10 minutes or so.  It turns out that he lives near where we live in Miami.  He is going up for the Jets game.  He told me that he has a box for the game and is still a big Bills fan and loves going to the games.

To each his own, but that was 10 more minutes of time than I would ever give him.

    I know I know...he was found not guilty. :w00t:

  5. Daimon Shelton is a diamond in the rough. I've seen him knock the everliving snot out of defenders the last couple seasons. He's one of my favorite players on the Bills.

Diamond in the rough?? He'll be 34 in a couple of weeks. I think a better description of him would be "doing whatever I can to hang onto an NFL salary for another year".

  6. Yes and no. It could be that the team didn't want three small CBs and felt that King was the worst of the three. Thomas is listed at 5'11" 192, which is decent size. Not a helluva lot bigger than what King is listed at but King always looked pretty short to me on the field. Good build but he didn't look 5'10".

King really had a bad game against Detroit. Thomas has played seven years in the league. Players don't usually last that long at CB with no talent. Youboty and Greer are young. Youboty and McGee are locked up long term. Greer was one of the biggest stars  in camp. It wasn't out of nowhere that King didn't make it and Thomas did.

Furthermore, a lot of the draft sites have King measured at 5'8". This one from USA Today via NFL.Com has him at 5.08.4 which to me sounds like a combine measurement.

Experience is one thing that Thomas brings. I just thought that King showed enough to keep a roster spot, but Thomas obviously showed more in the coaches eyes.

Go Milwaukee, I mean Kiwaukee or whatever you're first name is.

  7. They can't add him to their practice squad, only we can.  He would have to be added to their active roster. Them's the rules.

    760511[/snapback]

I don't think so...I believe he can be signed to any teams practice squad once he cleared waivers. Once on someones practice squad, the only way another team can sign him is if he is added to their active roster.

  8. Actually there still are plenty who think he is ("ST Ace!") - they are just not as vocal anymore.  I actually still read posts on other boards how great it would be if Coy got to play Fullback or Linebacker!  :D

Maybe these are the same people who thought Jason Peters could play any number of positions. Now that Peters has settled in as a Pro Bowl RT B-) , Wire can now replace him as the "jack of all trades master of none".

Think about the potential...Wire as a WR, Wire as a RB, Wire as a speed rusher on passing downs. The skies the limit!! :D:D

  9. I was somewhat surprised that Milwaukee :D Thomas was kept in place of Eric King. I thought King showed some potential last year and in training camp this year.

None of the other moves surprised me that much except for keeping Coy freakin' Wire. To those who still want to defend the King of all pile-ons and bad angles, HE IS NOT A GOOD ST'er! He is not Steve Tasker or Mark Pike. He is not even Sam Aiken on ST's.

One poster early on in this thread got it right...Wire got his hands on Chuck Lester's secret stash of pictures.

  10. At this point(considering how much practice he missed), I don't see him getting on the field before Eric King or Jabari Greer, so unless there is an injury to one of the top 4 CB's, he may be relegated to ST's or being on the inactive list most of the season.

PS I don't know if he has returned yet.

  11. NEW YORK (AP) -- CNN anchor Kyra Phillips, whose ladies room chatter found its way onto her newscast, bounced back two days later with a "Top 10 List" of excuses on the "Late Show with David Letterman."

The mishap had happened Tuesday when Phillips, still wearing her wireless microphone, visited the loo while CNN aired President Bush's speech from New Orleans. For a minute or so her voice commingled with his, as she was heard telling an unidentified woman how great her husband is, then mentioned that her sister-in-law is "a control freak." Only then was she alerted that her mike was live.

How could such a thing happen? A game but still embarrassed-looking Phillips set Letterman (and his CBS audience) straight -- or at least, left them laughing.

    9. "Larry King told me he does this all the time."

    8. "How was I supposed to know we had a reporter embedded in the bathroom?"

    7. "I honestly never knew this sort of thing was frowned upon."

    6. "Couldn't resist chance to win $10,000 on 'America's Funniest Home Videos."'

    5. "I was set up by those bastards at Fox News."

    4. "Oh, like YOU'VE never gone to the bathroom and had it broadcast on national television!"

    3. "I just wanted that hunky Lou Dobbs to notice me."

    2. "OK, so I was drunk and couldn't think straight."

    1. "You have to admit, it made the speech a lot more interesting."

Here's the video. Her delivery is decent and she seemed to be a good sport about the whole thing...
