  1. the knob bobbing that the patriots are receiving from a lot of posters here is sickening.

!@#$ the PATS, bunch fo whining cheating candy asses.

Your're right. Instead of disussing the merits of the teams that are ACTUALLY IN THE PLAYOFFS, let's stick our heads in the sand and write how the Pats suck, they get all the calls, they are lucky, blah, blah, blah.

God forbid we have some football discussions without "Brady envy" coming into play.

    <_< <_<

  2. I would not call this version of the Pats a great team. And if you don't think they are at all lucky or get the benefit of the doubt on almost all calls, you're kidding yourself. Just telling it like it is.

Did you see the two San Diego catch & fumbles that were ruled incomplete passes. Yeah, you're right, NE gets all the calls.

  3. Last year I was convinced they'd win the Cup and now I'm a lot more skeptical. Even with the extra wins, this year's team has a worse PP and less toughness. It seems like a less balanced team.

I don't want to come across as a naysayer, but I have that same sick feeling in my stomach. It just doesn't seem like this team was built for the playoffs. You gave up a lot of size and grit when you let McKee, Dumont, Grier and even Pyatt walk out the door.

I know that anything can happen come playoff time, so I guess I'll just keep my fingers crossed.

Don't know exactly what that means for Darien Lake, but I always thought it was at least respectable that it had the Six Flags label attached to it. I personally haven't been there in maybe six or seven years.

Personally, I think Darien Lake is an overpriced joke and I has hoping that somehow it would be bought by the company that operates Cedar Point and other parks. Other than a couple of new waterslides, what has been upgraded in the last several years?

  5. I would agree with him about that downtown area around the HBC arena. It's awful. But then, many other cities have the same problem. Sounds like sour grapes to me.

Hopefully the proposed development of the inner harbor(adjacent to the arena) will eventually spur the opening of 2 or 3 restaurants/bars within a stones throw of the arena. We'll see.

  6. Buffalo

We hear that the fact that the Bills decided to make third-year DT Tim Anderson inactive in Week 17 is a strong indication that the team’s patience with its disappointing 2004 third-round pick has just about run out. Anderson came to Buffalo with a reputation as a high-motor guy whose wrestling background and size would make him a solid D-tackle at the pro level. However, he has never lived up to his draft standing, failing to serve as much of a run stuffer or to put much pressure on opposing quarterbacks. His lack of athleticism and flexibility also didn’t help his cause. Word is, what made Anderson’s lack of production stand out even more is the impressive play of rookie DT Kyle Williams, a fifth-round draft pick who has similar attributes to Anderson but who already has proven to be more effective and earned 11 starts in his first year.

    Also, there's this:

Though he wasn’t happy about it, we hear the reason why the Bills didn’t offer to extend MLB London Fletcher’s contract beyond this season is that they want to get bigger and younger in the middle. Also, we hear the Bills want a middle ’backer who makes more tackles at, or near, the line of scrimmage than the undersized Fletcher did.

But but but, he passed the Krumrie wrestling test, so that made him a good pick. Good bye Anderson and thank god Krumrie is no longer here. :pirate:

Father knows best? A third paternity suit was filed against Willis McGahee, 25, Buffalo Bills running back and former University of Miami Hurricane.

Keisha Walls, 27, an elementary school teacher, says McGahee is the father of son Kai Walls, born April 19, 2006.

Chiniqua Smith, 26, also a teacher, says McGahee is the father of Willis McGahee IV, born Jan. 6, 2006.

Dorothy Doretha McNeil, 29, sued McGahee in 2005, saying he fathered daughter Bria McGahee, born Jan. 17 of that year.

Somebody needs to sit down with Willis and explain the finer points of the birds and the bees. :pirate::P

  8. This city is unbelievable. In mid December, they gave Bass Pro a 30 day ultimatum to sh-- or get off the pot. Now two weeks later, the powers that be(Erie Canal Harbor Development Corp) are singing a different tune. Once again, no surprise that any attempt at progress always comes to a crawl in WNY.

...Quinn, who has led the direct talks with Bass Pro senior executives over the last 16 months, noted the Christmas and New Year's holidays did limit contact over the last two weeks. He hinted that the stated Jan. 16 deadline to get a final decision from Bass Pro might be loosened by a few days to compensate for lost negotiating time.

Anthony H. Gioia, the development corporation's chairman, confirmed the deadline could be extended if there are signs a deal is imminent.

"Nobody's going to be stupid. If we're within a heartbeat of a deal, we're not going to point to the clock and shut the door," Gioia said, adding that any extension would be "days, not weeks, or months."

Gioia & Quinn...today it may be extended by a couple of days, tomorrow it will be a couple of weeks and before you know it, it will be 2008 and we'll still be in negotations! :w00t::lol: What's left to negotiate...Bass Pro takes the deal or they go away forever.

  9. With who? A-Train? Are you nuts?

Just like Pat Williams was just some fat guy who clogged the middle and could be easily replaced by Sam Adams and some other fat guy.

Did I say that a DT was easy to replace? NO! Replacing a medicore RB? It wouldn't be the biggest challenge Marv has ever faced. It doesn't have to be Thomas either. There will be plenty of alternatives in FA or the draft.

  10. As for Edge, the .8 yards per carry difference illustrates just how important an offensive line is. I got to believe that even you realized that notwithstanding your post.

As for WM, you said he is not fast. I gave you a prime example that contradicts your thesis. If he were not fast, he would not have outran defensive backs ever. The same thing with strength. If he were not strong, he never would have run over Ray Lewis.

If you want to go over each of his carries over his career, come on down to Miami and we can do that on my new Sony XBR.

You're not budging in your defense of WM, so I will conclude this debate with...

Learn from your mistakes...Didn't you defend DB until the very end also???:)

  11. See post about Edge above. [by the way, I recall posters on this board saying before the season that WM was no Edge].

Speed - He outran defensive backs on his 57 yard touchdown.

Strength - He ran over Ray friggen Lewis this past week to get a first down.

He is not the fastest guy on the team or the strongest, but he has a combination of speed and strength for a running back that makes him pretty damn good. I just wish that the line gave him more time and space.

Who cares about Edge, I thought we were talking about WM. Did you ever consider that maybe the reason his stats are down is because he has little left in the tank after taking a pounding in Indy for many seasons?

As far as WM goes, he has carried the ball over 850 times in his career and you want to cite one or two instances to make a case against my stance on WM. Keep trying...

He is a straight ahead runner with average speed & no elusiveness, who either doesn't have the strength or the willingness to be a power runner. Quite possibly the easiest player to replace on the entire team.

  12. Of course it does.

He asked about production. That is production.

Just because he got to 2000 yards faster than any other RB in Bills history means he is productive? Show me YPC, TD's in a season, yards in a season and come talk to me about production. Not some cumulative stat that proves that the Bills don't have a good track record of developing RB's in their first three years.

I'll say it until I'm blue in the face...he is a straight ahead runner with average speed & no elusiveness, who either doesn't have the strength or the willingness to be a power runner. Quite possibly the easiest player to replace on the entire team.
