  1. Excluding this season, if you look at his avg sacks per year since entering the league x.8, we’re looking around 8 sacks next year. All things considered, I’d take that.
  2. Im 100% in on a Dawkins extension. Maybe for Brown, but is it possible they think a guy like VanDemark could develop? How often do we hear about the back end OL talent developing and it never comes to fruition. On the contrary I think they’re going to end up using those picks on special teamers, secondary players, or other pieces to the puzzle. You’re right they have a lot to cover, and the draft is the cheapest and most selective way to get a particular skill you’re looking for on the cheap. IMO guys like Siran Neal and Matekavich can be easily replaced. I personally care very little about special teams. 1) Yes, agreed on Siran. 2) If McDermott is still at the helm, I feel confident he’ll be able to find adequate replacements in the draft. We don’t have the luxury of being able to sign two future all-pro safeties as we did when McD first was up and coming. In fact, neither were all that highly touted. They developed into that caliber of a player under McD and I have believe he can get enough from others that it won’t be a major concern 3) Zero expectations from this guy moving forward. Unfortunate end to a fantastic Buffalo career. Not sure what, if anything, he’ll have left…and I’m willing to doubt it likely won’t be worth the savings.
  3. Lately….it feels like we haven’t seen them nearly as much as last season.
  4. New Year’s party. Today is their day off. I know the person who did the flower arrangements.
  5. I can’t believe I’m saying this but they need to draft another DT and DE 🤢 (only after WR1 is taken, please!)
  6. Stopping the Miami offense: We MUST get stout play from the DL in the run game. It’s so important to be able to stop their ground game and string out those outside zones/tosses and let our LBs play from depth. The second they get caught creeping to try and get an inch of advantage in run support, we open passing windows. Im pretty confident we’ll see a variation of cloud coverage toward Hill when possible, and we won’t play too much pure man. I’m playing a patient game, and bringing limited pressures, and when I do, they’ll be from safeties and corners and not the LBs.
  7. Its more so the fact we have been forced into using two TEs that limits Shakir, along with other personnel groupings such as the use of Edwards and Gilliam. I think Shakir and Kincaid could coexist in our offense if Knox wasn’t in the picture, or if we weren’t so invested in running away from the 11 personnel that we were so successful with just a few years back.
  8. I suppose I meant more about his nature as a player than his measurables. WR3 reliably moving the chains. Does well with the ball in his hands. Nagging for defenses. Blocks.
  9. I think Beane would admit that they needed to do more the past few seasons. IMO they instead chose to upgrade the OL and took some shorts at some low tier FAs, he missed. Cant fix it all at once. The OL is intact at least through next season. Next year HAS to be the year, and they should double down and grab two
  10. I get Tyler Boyd vibes from this guy. Wow great minds think alike! I think he has a bit more of that than you’re giving him credit. He also can get dirty in the ground game and isn’t afraid to block.
  11. It never really looked different. It’s the same offense with slightly different wrinkles. It effects Diggs around the goal line but not much else. The big packages are taking snaps away more so from Kincaid, Knox and Shakir
  12. Penalties too. For the life of me, idk why our coach thinks we need to try and pin them deep … injury riddled offense of a 4 win team with a back up QB….kick it through the back of the EZ and bring out your horses to get it done, not relying on Siran, Dane, Matekeich, Gillian, etc. The risk/reward is too large here. I’m alll for it when you’re playing a team with a legit offense and you can use any advantage, but this situation just gave life to an otherwise lifeless scoring team.
  13. Happy that the Steelers and Jags games (the two deciding wild card potential) are viewable before our game in different time slots. Gives me something to look forward to Saturday and Sunday afternoon without feeling like I have to have it. Sunday night will be either no pressure, just play loose and get the dub we’re in either way, or full send gotta get this done sugar rush. Glad we’ll know ahead of time.
  14. Was wondering when that’d drop. Come on!
  15. So many facets at play here: - Beane and Personnel (talent deficiency) -Coaching (play design, calls and personnel usage) - Allen (Misfires, turnovers, misreads) - Execution (drops, lack of YAC, contested catches) - Offensive Line (poor protection at times) Our best play is, and will continue to be, Allen making magic out of structure on broken plays or scramble drills. Hell, I’m starting to think we should design these up!
  16. My take: These are ways they are trying to stretch the defense horizontally because so much of their downfield game is covered, they are making an effort to force guys to commit laterally, opening up throwing windows down the field later on. You see it often with the tight ends or #2/3 WR coming back over the middle. I believe we’re bad at it because we have little juice at the positin and Allen can’t deliver the ball in a advantageous position. By nature our offense is not a fire off the LOS from WR releases and we don’t threaten teams down the field anymore. They have no qualms about coming down hill hard to make those plays because of it. At times we’ve burned teams on the back end when they do. The play itself is not generally very successful, but the idea behind it is woven into the bigger picture. It’s time they find a new way, new personnel, or new wrinkle to try and achieve the same thing.
  17. I’d just like to point out the 5-6 people who downvoted me in the pregame thread for predicting a special teams blunder: kick rocks.
  18. Josh just can’t help himself. Just go down and it’s 4th and 1 from the 50.
  19. I’ll say again, passing offense has been off for weeks
  20. We just can’t throw the ball. It’s not only this week.
  21. Draft status is inseparable when you’re looking at him in terms of how this roster is constructed. I already agreed he’s having a solid season, but it isn’t just about this year. In years to come we are going to be searching for WR2 and Diggs replacement. Would have been nice to take a stab at it this year. Guys picked in that R1 run before he went at 25 are having solid to great years, and yes, they are statistically better than his season. Again I think the player is good. This doesn’t take away from the fact that we have other, more drastic needs down the line at more impactful positions.
  22. I have this bad feeling the bills special teams is due another big miscue. They’ve been bad this year and the PATS is the kind of team that’d take full advantage. Keep the ship buttoned up and we should win.
