Week 11 - Chiefs at Bills Game Week Thread
EmotionallyUnstable replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
I’m with @Straight Hucklebuck on this one. Kincaid is on pace for another 600ish yard season in year two. He really hasn’t taken that leap that many around the Mafia were hoping and frankly, expecting, from a first round pick who was touted as an elite pass catching talent. I hope he’s good to go on Sunday because he is a good player. The loss of Kincaid however is less impactful than that of Cooper. This is not to say he won’t contribute to improve and have more of a statistical impact on the games, but so far, I think it’s fair to say he’s not met the preseason expectations. -
Receiver separation is still BAD

I believe DVOA and First downs per play combined (offense/defebse) are some of the greatest indicators of further success. I will look for the source -
Potential Christian Benford Extension Framework
EmotionallyUnstable replied to JGMcD2's topic in The Stadium Wall
I’m guessing Shakir and Benford would be the priority, followed closely by Bernard and Cook in a distant fourth. I love Bernard but seeing them let Edmunds walk and prioritizing other positions early in the draft and FA make me feel like they think WR/CB are more important than LB, -
Kincaid update? (now declared OUT for Sunday)

These two things do not match. You would look more to the seam ball when a team is playing cover 1 or 3. C2 would have both safeties ON the seams, and when a play such as vertical routes is called vs this look, you have your seam player either: 1) bend to the middle of the field to split the safeties 2) clear out safeties and run them out of the intermediate range for anything coming underneath It isn’t a great route combination for the TEs vs the two high look. It these circumstances you often see Allen throwing the boundary vert between the CB and deep half, or taking the check down if the flat player carries the boundary WR downfield. I think your overall sentiment here is one that I’d love to know more about in their scheming for downfield passing attack. They continue to lack the consistent ability to stretch the field in structure without relying on Allen to create. There are many levels to this (design, personnel, defensive scheme) but they just seem completely content taking the short to intermediate routes and allowing those deeper options to essentially act as clear outs -

I believe the bills should win this game, but my prediction is they won’t. There have been too many self-inflicted wounds that I think the Chiefs will exploit more than the Colts or Seahawks were able to do in the last few weeks. I really do think we have constructed a better roster overall, but their top end talent is superior, IMO. I also give the nod to Reid and the chiefs for having the edge in “knowing how to win” the close games. I am not just talking about a wild blocked FG to avoid a one point should be loss. Tack on the offensive injuries, already inconsistent passing offense, defensive lapses and reliance on turnovers, I see the Bills stumbling into the bye on this one. I stand by my prediction for this team, which has remained unchanged for the past three seasons; they will live and die by Josh Allen. There is no one else who can elevate the team the way he can and will need to if they want to contend on January. -
3rd and 19, Verse has a clear shot at Tua, whiffs, 25 yard dump off to the RB….insane given the circumstances that brings them back into FG range and a two score game vs getting the ball back down 8 Insuing Rams drive: 1&10 dump off to the RB for no gain 2&10 15 yard sack 3&25 Cooper Kupp for 18. 4&7 Stafford fumbles snap goodnight

I’ve never seen a team try to lose harder than the Rams right now Rose boom I need those INTS bro…fantasy team on the fritz and you’re my guy. Take one of those to the crib!

So much for my shoot out prediction. This has been a rough watch. Rams fans would be so mad, if there were any

Rams DL looks impressive

What is wrong with the Rams offense? Just terrible on 1st Cant initiate contact going back against the grain. Gotta just get in the way now. Soft but it was a penalty IMO

How did he drop that

The timing feels funny on this, as he just had probably his worst game so far this year. I almost threw a shout out his way last week, but never got around to it. That said, for a last minute trade at the end of preseason for a late day three pick, I’ve felt like this was a solid move by Beane. He is currently 9th in the league in punt return average. He brings some juice and generally seems reliable catching the ball. He’s only returned 6 kickoffs, and took one 53 yards. I no longer feel like I am holding my breath with every punt return, and actually look forward to seeing what ground he can gain when given a chance. Keep up the good work, young man! *This site shows him as 7th in return average: https://www.footballdb.com/statistics/nfl/player-stats/punt-returns?sort=pravg

Putting my Christmas tree up incase anyone cares.

I am sensing a shoot out. Neither team likes to play defense. Both have high octane passing and running abilities with strong QB play.

On one hand, I hate the dolphins and want to see them lose every opportunity…especially guys like Tyrek and Ramsey. On the other hand, if they keep their tiny playoff hopes alive and win a few more along the way, we get to see their dreams crushed later and they’ll have a higher pick. Anyone have a strong feeling one way or the other?

@Your Brown Eye what’s hard now? Interesting they did this the week before the bye. They must feel either very confident he’ll be good to go sooner rather than later -
Week 10, Bills v. Colts, GAME BALLS!
EmotionallyUnstable replied to Freddie's Dead's topic in The Stadium Wall
It is an option, they just are choosing the conservative route. I don’t think it’s the wrong choice, but it might not be the best choice come January. I was responding to your comment that it was on Beane. He had brought in two other options and the staff hasn’t made it work. That is just as much on McD. The discussion about Bishop being more of a box safety such as Rapp could be true but I don’t see why he couldn’t play the deeper role. He is bigger and more athletic than Hamlin. You can point to the mental side of the game as the cause. I can’t argue that. You can look forward and know that this would be the time to try and overcome some of those lapses. By many accounts he is a smart and capable ball player, and I’d like to see him get a shot. As a fan, I can live with a rookie who has a higher ceiling making an error at 8-2 looking towards a January run. It’s hard to watch Hamlin take awful angles allowing large plays that should have been a 10 yard gain and know that is likely what we are going to get. McDermott has a bigger decision being he has many factors to weigh but from a purely fan perspective, I’m ready to find out what we have in #24 -
Well with the entire CBS crew coming to buffalo next weekend, and being in the late window, I gotta imagine we’ll get Nantz/Romo next week

Week 10, Bills v. Colts, GAME BALLS!

I don’t put the safety position on Beane either. He took Cole Bishop at 60, along with Edwards. McD had options, and he’s riding with Hamlin.
