Does anybody else prefer to watch Bills games alone?
JohnnyBuffalo replied to ChronicAndKnuckles's topic in The Stadium Wall
If by alone I can include my 14 year old son who has watched every game with me as humanely possible since he was 6 then yes! I can’t stand watching with anyone else. It is entirely me being a jerk I know but I can’t listen to other people’s “takes” while being so emotionally invested. You are a good son! Not sure how old you are or if you have any kids of your own but let me tell you watching these games with my son and high fiving, hugging, and whatever else is such a gift. It will be hard when he goes off to college or on to other things and I am VERY aware of it! Go Bills! -
It’s good they aren’t rushing him back. Not that they really could have given all the attention this has gotten. It really is too bad. The NFL is fun when the best players play. I always wanted to beat the other team with ALL their guys available….otherwise you get the “yeah buts” when you win. Good luck to Tua and his family. For those asking for forced retirement….may you never be in a situation where your life and what happens to it be out of your control. Go Bills!

While many can argue for that call there was no doubt that they’d get “A” call in that situation. The game was lost when the Bung wholes missed the extra point.

Nice prime time coverage catching that Bernard isn’t on the field. -
Never happen. Just watched NFL channel game day whatever show this morning…..more cardinals offensive plays and the highlight of the game was the kick off return. They actually said do they rely on Josh to do too much…..and both talking heads were yepping through his play and his hand getting taped. zero credit for 4 TDs and spreading the ball around. And the D was only mentioned on the last play of the game while they hyped up Murray as “such a different team with him cause he’s a difference maker.” Media is so dang biased against Josh.

Going to share a bit of context before I get to my point so please indulge me: Had a buddy in town this weekend with his wife and, when we were actually able to get a word in, we talked about Josh vs Lamar…in other words a short conversation. This guy is from Utah and grew up a casual 49ers fan. He played D1 at Utah State and moved to Upstate NY immediately after college which is when I met him. He admits he does not have a team he roots for and by doesn’t watch a ton of football. But given his experience I like to think he knows a bit about football. His son, after growing up an Indy fan due to Peyton, is now a Ravens fan. When we talked about which QB you would select to start your actual (not fantasy -puke) football team and could only select between Josh and Lamar he said it was a closer contest than he knew I would like. He said he’d take Lamar due to his 2 MVPs…. I remained calm and came back with the stats specifically with leading in the number of TDs scored over last several seasons… his response - Yeah but Josh can’t win the big games….he didn’t know what to say when I asked how many postseason games Lamar has won. Basically if you don’t really watch the games you will go with what the media wants you to go with. Is Lamar trash? IMO no but he seems to be more gadget QB with some pretty good success. But I don’t think he has been able to put the entire team on his back as often as Josh has and in the bigger situations. Plus you add in the durability question and I just don’t think he’s worthy of a higher ranking in any stack ranking list. But just like this weekend -trying to have conversation in the midst of a lot of background noise is tough.

Excellent Article on Terrel Bernard from Tim Graham

Glad he is on our team! Has vibes of Freddy and Fitzy and K. Williams. -
TV all the way. Not a fan of crowds, traffic, and the garbage that comes from people overindulging. Plus if you want to know what’s happening and actually see the nuances of the game can’t beat replay. Plus you can see other games when the Bills are on commercial. Hockey needs to be live to SEE the game. Not football. Will be at the home opener though. I’m sure it will be cool but reaffirming in my preference too. Either way….GO BILLS!

When asked to describe Coleman’s speed McDermott said glacial is the term I would use. One reporter is quoted as saying “Thank goodness he doesn’t play for the Sabres as he may actually get run over by the Zamboni if he did.”

Basically better be able to start fast as there really might not be coming back from a stumble in the AFC road gauntlet early. -
59 Minutes of Josh Allen being amazing
JohnnyBuffalo replied to RobbRiddick's topic in The Stadium Wall
Over 13 minutes in of great highlights before Diggs catches first one. Allen made a lot of guys good before him. He’s unreal! Go Bills! -
I have not read every response to this topic so if this is redundant I apologize. My gut would say yes to this post. I would think it comes down to where and who Josh has more confidence in. Down the stretch Diggs didn’t show up to the level of the BS he brings and I would think the confidence that he would help the team get over the “hump” by continuing to do what he’s always done…whine, complain, and drop off in big moments…took a hit. Therefore, confidence that Beane and company committed to doing all that they could to get Josh and team the weapons they need in the draft had to have a higher degree of confidence from Josh. Believe in the process or believe in your aging donkey diva WR…probably a pretty easy choice that the media and non-mafia/haters can’t see. Go Bills!

One positive from Diggs departure that isn't being discussed

Let’s hope it means more Sunday 1:00pm games then! -
Resounding NO! The most frustrating thing about basketball is how slow it gets at the end of the game. These are some of the most elite athletes on the planet and between fouls and timeouts the game screeches to a halt. To me it’s boring and frustrating to watch. “Oh the other man tapped my arm”. Game stop. Boring. Playoff hockey on the other hand is some of the most exciting action in the critical times of the game. The refs take a step back and the whistle is put away the speed hits another level and the action is non-stop. Unfortunately TV doesn’t showcase the speed and the Sabres have stunk for 12 seasons and counting… So between March Madness and Super Bowl….Super Bowl is better.

You have captured the reality distortion to perfection!

The line from Moneyball keeps coming to mind when Justice is told how much the Yankees and Billy Boy thought of him. So here goes…Hey Stef. The Buffalo Bills think so little of you that they are paying $31 million dollars of their cap space to play against you. That’s how little they think of you. That’s something isn’t it.

I did not know this man nor do I know his family but I do know that we all shared and share something special together….the love of the Bills. Things like this make me remember that it is more than a game and it is about more than a team. It’s about being a part of something. That’s why I donated. Bills Mafia! Thoughts and prayers to the family and friends of James.

This question/topic frustrates me for a few reasons. 1. An opinion is debatable but not able to be proven. 2. Stereotypes are an oversimplification of a larger subject matter- good or bad. But thanks for questioning the vast majority of us, based on a minute few, as potentially being “less than” after a gut punch defeat once again. Go Bills and more importantly GO BILLS MAFIA!!!
