Projecting next year's starters
BillsWest replied to Reddy Freddy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Royal - a blocking tight end....hmmmm.....is he good enough to make a switch like Peters did? Could we get an OL/TE combo out of him so we have depth at both positions? -
That's good, as long as it's flying under the radar, not crashing!
-
He's got some great hands, but he didn't break many tackles. In fact, it looked like he was tackled pretty easily.

OK, let me start this by saying, when I play sports I give it my all, 100% of the time. My worst injury was probably grabbing a rebound in basketball and being pushed from behind as I was coming down. I landed right on my left knee cap. I split it in two. I tried to keep playing, but the weird clicking in my knee and the pain were just too much. I ended up driving 20 miles back home and then decided to go to the E/R. I was in a soft cast for months. Breaking my nose, chipping my teeth, and fracturing the upper cheek bone was a direct result of running back full speed from short stop and colliding with my brother coming full speed from left field. Two 200lb+ bodies stopping in an instant. I never realized how good cold grass felt on your face when you're in pain. No, we didn't hold on to the ball. My two most sickening injuries happened in football to my fingers. One trying to tip a ball over a receiver from behind him so I could intercept. I ended up with my ring finger bent back and to the right in an L shape. I had to keep it that way until the E/R took x-rays. Then the doctor cracked it back close to in place. Had to do it once more to get it right. The second was playing flag football. I was just about ready to pull a flag when the guy did a spin. The same ring finger (years later) got caught in a pocket and spiral fractured. When I looked at my finger, the top part was side ways. I still can't straighten the tip out.

Just say NO. After Alex Smith got injured, it was Trent's team. He just doesn't have it anymore. The 49ers were terrible with Trent as the qb. Fans couldn't wait for S. Hill to get healthy enough to take over.

Pretty simple. Love the Bills, but live in Northern California.

What did the Pats do today to keep your hate up?

VERY obvious....they won. -
6' 3" 280 lb QB AND Middle Linebacker. Play it every weekend on a slightly (ok, very different) level. Always picked 1st, and always see fear in the eyes of players 20 years younger.

I had him when he was younger, he knew who Kelly, Reed, Smith, Thomas were, and liked them. We even found some of the Bills Starting Line-up figures here in CA, and he played football with them. He had a Jim Kelly figure pillow. Then it all went down hill. He got his first video game and loved how the 49ers won all of the time. Now he even wants a Gore jersey to wear when we play football on the weekends. Oh well, atleast he's in to football AND he hates the Dolphins, Jets, Patriots and Raiders!

To quote my 16 yr old son, a HUGE 49ers fan: "Why does Jonas Jennings get hurt every single game!"

Lots to be optimistic about for 2007

Erik Johnson is a good TE for SF, WHEN he's playing. He's been injured often though. -
The newspaper here says that the 49ers are going after Vincent with a two year deal. They are 7 million under the cap.

'62 and love it when I get to call my older Fishfan brother.

I think if Nall impresses...cutting Holcomb
BillsWest replied to John from Riverside's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Maybe they could trade Holcomb to the Colts to back-up Manning. -
As always from those of us on the west coast
BillsWest replied to John from Riverside's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes, thank you so much for the reports! It gets me away from the stupid play and trades the SF Giants are doing. How many guys over 40 can you possibly have on a major league roster and win??? -
I followed the Braves from Buffalo to San Diego to LA, but not with the same intensity. I don't really know what I'd do. Become a 49er fan? Become part of the RAIDER NATION? I'll probably just lose interest in the NFL.

Property tax collector with the County

49es are looking for OL help, maybe Jonas talks them in to taking a chance with them.

We had a decent year, but we got knocked out of the playoff hunt by a parent umpire who decided that our pitchers couldn't throw strikes and every pitch they threw was right down the middle. Anyway, we've got a team party coming up in two weeks. Anyone have any suggestions on what the coaches could get the guys. There's 14 13-14 yr olds, so it has to be something suitable for that age group, and not too expensive. We gave alot of time, but we want to show our appreciation for the time and effort they gave. Thanks!

Oakland Vs. Buffalo Ticket Information
BillsWest replied to Mark Vader's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There were alot of Bills fans in Oakland last year. Not as many as there were in San Francisco though. In Oakland we were way up in seats behind Ueker if you know what I mean. The Raider fans were ok. Alot of tough talk and general harassment, but nothing too bad. -
OT - Don't let your girls grow up to be
BillsWest replied to stuckincincy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That's just down the road from me. I'm coaching my son's little league team and have already been told that "some of the parents are REALLY disappointed in the coaching staff". I forwarded the e-mail on to the rest of the parents and was deluged with positive response to our coaching. Yes, that parent has a son that is not as good as the rest, and he never listens when we try to coach him. Parents do get nasty sometimes, wanting us to challenge every strike, out, etc. It's called "playing" baseball for a reason! -
Just gave my 2 week notice 2 hours ago. We've got a small group of people that I like, so I'm going to work as hard as I can over the next two weeks to ensure that they can't complain after I'm gone. You never know when the bridges that you burned will come back to haunt you. I'd hate to lose 7 years of credibility in two weeks. And I'm in laid back California!
