  2. If he does kill himself, will it be re-enacted on the E Channel? now that's good TV!
  3. It had to happen. In fact, it should have happened a long time ago. A community where government is the biggest employer cannot exist in the long run. These figures were reported Business First: Numbers on the Public Payroll Area Population Employment Ratio Buffalo-Niagara 1,170,111 54,698 21.4 citizens to public employees Chicago (Region) 9.044,316 47,727 189 citizens to public employees Phoenix 3,251,876 17,003 191 citizens to public employees Portland 1,927,881 13,980 138 citizens to publice employees Rochester 1,037,831 11,480 90 citizens to public employees San Diego 2,813,831 21,386 131 citizens to public employees Seattle 3,043,878 21,052 144 citizens to public employees Tampa 2,395,997 26,712 89 citizens to public employees

  6. AP via yahoo Slippery field could trip up Colts January 13, 2005 FOXBORO, Mass. (AP) -- Thick fog descended on the still uncovered field at Gillette Stadium on Thursday, a day after rain left the turf for New England's playoff game against Indianapolis a muddy mess. As the rain fell, a dry Bill Belichick flashed an innocent-looking smile. Certainly, the Patriots coach wouldn't allow the field to turn into a swamp or a skating rink for Peyton Manning and his dangerous receivers in Sunday's playoff game against the Colts. Or would he? ``My job is not to pull weeds,'' Belichick said. ``I have a lot of other things to do. Or rake the field and all of that. I'm sure that will all be taken care of.'' The rain fell Wednesday, then the fog rolled in Thursday. Temperatures in the 50s and rain were forecast for Thursday night and into Friday. That should drench the field even more just in time for a dry cold spell -- temperatures from 21 to 34 degrees Saturday; 19 to 33 degrees Sunday -- that could turn all that moisture to ice. That would make it tougher for Colts receivers Marvin Harrison, Reggie Wayne and Brandon Stokley to keep their footing and break long gains. ``We feel like it's our nature'' to play in inclement weather, Patriots linebacker Roman Phifer said. ``We live up here. We play in it. We practice in it. So, obviously, that's something that we're used to.'' But other Patriots think a slippery field won't make that much of a difference to the high-scoring Colts. ``They beat people in cold weather. They beat people on turf,'' strong safety Rodney Harrison said. ``They're going to catch touchdowns. They're going to run the ball. It doesn't matter what surface they're playing on. They could be playing on hot coals. It doesn't matter.''
  7. he should just kick the guy to death. it worked before
  8. Perry Tuttle or any of the Seattle Seahawks receivers [excluding Mr. Rice]
  9. + right! sorry if I'm repeating an earlier thread.
  10. After watching the DVD of the first season of Da Ali G show over and over, it dawned on me that a current Buffalo Bill actually appeared on one of the shows - did anyone else notice this?
  11. We don't need a kicker to win the game, just one who won't lose the game. Also, Coach MM believes in an open competition. TD said so.
  12. to make matters worse, when Harmon got back to the huddle after the drop, he [allegedly] blamed Kelly, saying he should have thrown the ball sooner.
  13. wow, has it been that long? i remember the moment like it was yesterday. and it still hurts.
  14. Class of '86 here [and i use the term "class" loosely]
  15. could they get another play off if they recovered the kick and there were a penalty on the other team? i believe the game can't end on a penalty to the "defense" team. another question - why wasn't Moss out there to try to recover the kick? usually you want your best "hands" people. it's far - fetched, but if anyone on the Vikes could recover the kick AND make a run for the endzone, it would be Moss - if he weren't sulking.
  16. Randy Moss must be Exhibit B. Did everyone see him walk off the field while his team was still attempting an onsides kick for a [albeit slim] chance to win the game??
  17. Sincerity is important. Once you learn to fake that, you've got it made.
  18. Marv was a great coach, but as an analyst of the current NFL he rarely has a negative thing to say about anybody.
  19. that's was my first thought too. God, I hope it wasn't designed that way.
  20. good point on the TE situation. that might be a position that could be addressed in the draft.
  21. So, now that you’ve all slept on it [if you could sleep] what changes due you make in the offseason? What are your top priorities? Jennings is probably gone, so I think the offensive line will have to be addressed, maybe in free agency. Lindell has to go, in my opinion. And a decision has to be made at QB. Does the organization have confidence that DB can win the big games against top opponents? TD and MM have to honestly answer that question themselves. On defense, I’d make re-signing Pat W. the top priority. Anyway, what do you think?
  22. i agree. he can't make field goals from over 40 yards, he can't make short clutch kicks, and his kickoffs are generally short. after he missed that 28 yarder, they should have made him remove his jersey and helmet immediately on the sidelines.
  23. hey - that's an XFL MVP you're talking about!
  24. I like his honesty [relative to most NFL coaches]. He's admitted when he's made some coaching errors earlier in the season.
