  1. This week's issue of the Sporting News came in the mail yesterday, and it features a really positive article on JP. There are numerous quotes in there to stir the confidence of Bills fans. If you're interested in picking it up, it's the issue with Tayshaun Prince of the Detroit Pistons on the cover.

  3. Here's my amateur synopsis of the interview with Tyke Tolbert:  JP looks good so far  As receivers coach, how much contact does he have with the QBs? – Receivers and QBs meet together re: routes and adjustments regularly  Fortunate that JP already has a year under his belt  RE: Sam Wyche - did a good job teaching JP the whole offense = reads, checkdowns, etc  RE: Lee Evans – excited about upcoming year – Evans is fast and studious, often in film room.  RE: Eric Moulds – great; took Lee under his wing last year, has already started to do the same with Parrish  RE: Roscoe Parrish – fast, quick – a football player.  RE: Miami U players – they benefit from good competition in practice at college; actually from junior high in Florida on up through college  Coaching style – considers himself a technique teacher, leaves the scheming to the coordinators.
  4. well, so much for dinner tonight.
  5. from the Associated Press: Rockabilly musician Hasil Adkins, a one-man band whose hollering vocals, crazed guitar-playing and do-it-yourself approach to rhythm landed a cult following, has died. He was 67. Adkins' body was found Tuesday at his Madison home, where he lived alone. The cause of death had not been determined but it did not appear to be suspicious. An ultimate solo artist, Adkins sang, blew harmonica and played his amplified acoustic guitar while keeping time with his feet on bass drum and high-hat cymbal. He later admitted he thought that's how it was done on radio songs he heard, but he never changed his original method. In the early 1980s, punkabilly band the Cramps covered Adkins' "She Said," which brought his primal sound to larger cult prominence. The rockabilly fan magazine, "Kicks," also provided additional attention to Adkins............
  6. from what i've read, it appears the cause of death was a blood clot that resulted from ankle surgery. it's a shame - he was a good in-ring worker and funny on interviews.
  7. I just read that Hasil Adkins passed away. Some of you may recognize the name as the Cramps and others covered a few of his songs. One of the truly unique musical artists around, no more.
  8. lol "When not competing, Danielle enjoys playing in charity events and water sports. " now there's a straight line begging for a joke. water sports?
  9. that Danielle grates on my nerves. how old is she? and she still tries using that "little girl" voice? perhaps too much time was spent in the tanning booth.
  10. i've only played for about 4 years. i usually manage to just break 100. i once shot a 42 on a 9-hole course - i think that was my personal best
  11. Did anyone else watch this last night? it was on USA Network, so they'll probably repeat it. look for it. it's a documentary about the great boxer Emile Griffith and the tragic death of his opponent in the ring, Benny Paret. But that doesn't tell the whole story. Powerful, compelling stuff.
  12. “We look forward to airing Buffalo Sabres games on Adelphia Cable once the lock-out ends, but for now we will do what we can do reminisce about some of the greatest recent moments in Sabres history,” Coleman concluded.>>>> what will happen first, the end of the lockout or the finalization of the sale of Adelphia?

  15. I was half - awake, but on Howard Stern today, I thought I heard them say that comedian Mitch Hedberg died. I can't find any verification of this on the net - anyone else hear about this?
  16. as former coach Harry Neale once put it, "We better do something about all this fighting, or we'll have to build bigger arenas......."
  17. many good ideas in this thread - no touch icing, touch up offsides, reducing goalie pads, etc. at the risk of sounding like a neanderthal, i wish they would eliminate the instigator rule. skill players had more room to operate back when the clutchers, grabbers, slashers, hackers had to fear retribution.
  18. ham, scalloped potatoes, and glazed carrots
  19. perhaps they're all posting from Mexico City?
  20. my suggestion - keep it blank. you support the team, not any one player. the last time i wanted a Sabres player jersey, the player in question got traded almost immediately afterward [brad May]
