WHO WOULD YOU WANT TO WIN TONIGHT AND WHY ??

i want the Jets to win. Teams tend to lose the week after a MNF win. -
Update from 10/28/04 Buffalo News: Former Pittsburgh Steelers offensive lineman Justin Strzelczyk did not have alcohol or drugs in his system when he died after leading police on a chase down the New York State Thruway, according to toxicology results revealed Wednesday. Strzelczyk, 36, a West Seneca native, died Sept. 30 after driving 90 mph with state troopers trailing him for some 40 miles, including five miles in the wrong direction. The chase ended when Strzelczyk's Ford F-250 pickup smashed into a tanker truck and exploded east of Utica. State troopers initially believed he was intoxicated, saying he threw a beer bottle out the window during the pursuit. They have since confirmed that it was a plastic pop bottle. Strzelczyk's family and friends from the beginning disputed assumptions that he was intoxicated and instead thought he was having a mental breakdown. They believe toxicology results confirmed their argument. "It's just another block as we try to put everything together," his mother, Mary Joyce Strzelczyk, said Wednesday. "It adds another piece." State Police Investigator James Hunt confirmed results of the toxicology exam Wednesday. Several months before his death, he told longtime best friend Dan Horan that he had quit drinking and smoking marijuana. "(The results) tell you it was his state of mind and where he was mentally," said Horan, a Buffalo police officer. "They are in line with how we knew each other. Right to the end, he was truthful. You have to love him even more. He was positive he cleared his body of marijuana and alcohol." Strzelczyk's family and friends believe his erratic behavior was consistent with bipolar disorder, which disrupts thought processes, or another mental illness. Strzelczyk at one point acknowledged his behavior patterns, but he refused to be evaluated and never was officially diagnosed, according to family and friends. In the weeks before his death, he experienced drastic mood swings and claimed he saw his late father. He spoke about demons that were chasing him. He told one friend that he was going to die. He told several people he needed to escape to "higher grounds." He disappeared from Pittsburgh at 2:30 a.m. Sept. 30, and died about six hours later. Strzelczyk graduated from West Seneca West High in 1986 and played at the University of Maine before the Steelers selected him in the 11th round of the 1990 NFL draft. He played nine seasons in the NFL before retiring in 1999. His survivors include his ex-wife, Keana, and their two children.

<<All I do know is that ever since I started with an 80 Granada and several Fords after that I finally vowed NEVER to buy a Ford product again>>> Last year, I made a similar vow as Flomoe made. Long story short, I had a transmission problem that occurred at exactly 50,051 miles. That's right, 51 miles beyond the warranty. The local Ford dealer and the corporate headquarters wold do nothing for me to offset even part of the cost of the repair. I'll probably buy another 6, 7 maybe 10 cars in my life, but they won;t be Fords.

Maybe we can start two guys at every position?!? would it improve our chances, or would we just get twice as many stupid penalties?
-
to hell with the jerseys - how about a throwback team, to those days when we actually won a few?
-
Some of this must be coaching, right?

There have been too many penalties and the offense looks worse than last year. >>>> don't forget the questionable play-calling. Why are we trying complicated, multiple fake / misdirection plays when we have trouble executing the simple things properly? and why in critical situations [third down, red xone, etc]? -
if this was posted already, i apologize in advance. disturbing, long article on the demise of the former Pittsburgh lineman http://www.buffalonews.com/editorial/20041024/1022588.asp

Weird feeling the Bills are going to win this week

<<<<<<<< I had that same weird feeling last week. I'm now of the "I'll believe it when I see it" school. >>>>>>> Now that you mention it, so did I. Damn! -
I have a weird feeling the Bills are going to win this week. Stop snickering - let me explain. I have this theory that with all the parity in the league, there are truly only a few really good teams at any one time [let’s say Philly and Seattle right now] and a few really bad teams [sF, Miami]. The rest of the teams are muddled in the middle, ala the famous Bell curve. Thus, although their records don’t reflect it at the moment, in theory there isn’t that great a difference between the Jets or the Bills or any of the other teams in vast midrange. Hey, I took Statistical Theory 101 about 20 years ago, and I’m pretty confident that it hasn’t changed much since then. Or maybe I'm grasping at straws. Anyway, even if they don’t win, I still think they’re a good pick with the points.

Man Mistakenly Cuts Off Penis, Dog Eats It Mon Oct 4,10:41 AM ET Oddly Enough - Reuters BUCHAREST (Reuters) - A elderly Romanian man mistook his penis for a chicken's neck, cut it off and his dog rushed up and ate it, the state Rompres news agency said Monday. It said 67 year-old Constantin Mocanu, from a village near the southeastern town of Galati, rushed out into his yard in his underwear to kill a noisy chicken keeping him awake at night. "I confused it with the chicken's neck," Mocanu, who was admitted to the emergency hospital in Galati, was quoted as saying. "I cut it ... and the dog rushed and ate it." Doctors said the man, who was brought in by an ambulance bleeding heavily, was now out of danger.

Are the Bills making us emotionless?
DPR4444 replied to CoachChuckDickerson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
<<<When you see the clock hit 5:00 in the 4th quarter and the Bills are within one score of taking the lead or tieing the game do your emotions just turn off? >>> Mine don't turn off, but I do feel different emotions than in the past. Where I used to feel excitement, anticipation and hope, I now feel dread, regret, and a sense of foreboding, along with rage and depression. -
one look at that Moe Howard wig was enough for me to know that movie would suck.

What one rule change would you most like to see implemented in the NFL? The one thing I’d like to change is defensive player stalling, keeping a tackled offensive player down, unpiling slowly, kicking the ball [oops, Fletcher] and generally trying to kill time when the offensive team is in its two-minute offense. I think the officials should “pause” the clock until the ball is spotted at the new line of scrimmage, then immediately re-start the clock once the ball is spotted.
