4d chess?? I know it's a read option. I was responding to someone saying the Steelers didn't see the film of Bortles scrambling. They certainly did, but have no idea what to do about it.

I see Watt going hard at Bortles every time and that's when Fournette gets the ball for a nice chunk.

Why are they calling those plays against a defense that aggressive?

If they do the same thing to the DL that they did to the secondary, bring it on!!

No doubt the D would benefit from having him on the roster, but what would it cost and would it outweigh the potential haul we'd get by staying put?

This is where I'm at. Hughes is still a good pass rusher. He couldn't get home often because the rest of the DL was practically useless. You get Star in FA and maybe Vea in the draft, you're looking at a beastly DL and Hughes' numbers go back up. Lawson isn't much of a pass rusher, but he can play the run very well and keep that other DE spot stable while we look at a premier DE the following year perhaps.

Hope we can get something for Glenn. He is talented but injury concerns abound. Hughes I can understand, but if we lose him we add another giant hole to the DL. He is our only decent pass rusher.

All stuff I can see. Would love star. Hope Vita Vea is on our radar in the draft too. That'd shore up the DT position nicely and we wouldn't have to beg Kyle to come back and play 75% of snaps.

I don't know if that is worse than Kizer/Kessler/Hogan. But it's kind of amazing that Pettine got canned and not Jackson with their respective performances. I'd wager that Hue's roster this year outside of QB was considerable better than Pettine's Browns teams.

Hypothetically, if Peterman got us a late TD and also led us to the victory in OT, I don't think the coaches have much of a choice. Peterman would start against New England. Maybe they use concussion protocol as an excuse (although that hit absolutely looked like a multi-week injury), but if Taylor couldn't get us 7 all game and Peterman gets us 10-13 in less than a quarter's worth of play against a top defense in the playoffs, I bet Dennison would feel so vindicated and would tell coach he has to ride the hot hand in Nasty Nate. That being said, did anyone really think he was gonna get it done?

Bortles had what 85 yards passing? We deserved better from the offense. Shady can't do it all.
