  1. I get the feeling Josh Reed is going to be a very good, dependable football player for some team out there. I just don't feel he ever played in a godd enough offense. I too thought that the *Patriots picked him up. I remember thinking...."Great, he's gonna light us up next year"
  2. Listen.....who gives a rat's ass if he comes back or not....strategically, for one year.....so what........if the guy is contemplating retirement, he is not going to help this team either way. So what if he comes back this year......he'll only retire next year. What will that give us? He's not like a missing piece to a puzzle for a championship anyway. They already drafted plenty of D- line/LB help in anticipation of him not being here, and next draft will do the same, b/c even with him here, we still lacked ideal pass rush threat.....trust me. One more thing......who was the biggest star on this team????....The only proven one is our PUNTER. Sorry, but this team needs a lot of work. A freaking punter is our most consistent and valuable player. wake up Bills fans and stop worrying about Schobel. And on the subject of his restaurant...have any of you been to New Braunfels???? I have.....it is a dead spot in Texas.....it is a seasonal anomoly....people go there for a certain time of year to go tubing down the Guadelupe...THAT's IT. It's not Dallas, ok.....here is the pic on google maps of this location...I was there years ago and nothing has changed http://maps.google.com/maps?layer=c&cb...hKaCajQOJk734DA
  3. Most logical post so far....but I do believe bad teams can have an exciting offense. And with the addition of Spiller and Chan's offensive philosophy, I think they will be pretty dynamic, even if we end up losing most of our games. People seem to forget that with even a pretty good defense, when we played good offense on rare occasion (patriots, cowboys) our defense/ST's let up at times as well.
  4. i was replying to your first reaction, so you go back and read......and why would I read thru 5 other threads of which you are saying someone is wasting bandwidth?
  5. This makes no sense, respectfully. The guy coached them to the playoffs, started a rookie QB, and had a stellar D. Please explain the downside of having this coach in the AFC East?
  6. On what grounds???? That we will not be picking #1 over all, or the pic itself? it does not seem stupid if an analyst thinks the Bills fail miserably this year and are seeking a QB next year.
  7. i think this is a valid question. Up until this offseason, I never heard Edwards say what he did until now. He said (paraphrasing) "I was told so many different things from different coaches....and I needed one voice....one direction". That's saying a mouthful.....I believe him when he says that. Does anyone remember this ?: WE FIRED OUR OC A FEW WEEKS BEFORE THE START OF THE SEASON!!!! It was refreshing to hear Trent say what I suspected all olong.
  8. Fitz has more NFL experience than Brohm, so I think it is ludicrous to think Brohm is automatic over Fitz....it is an open competition, this time for real
  9. I understand most of what you are saying, but McNabb.....are you serious???? He is an instant upgrade to about 65 to 70% of the entire league. If you, as a GM, do not show interest in him, you are not looking to better or solidify your team.
  10. anyone think the O-line and QB play on this team last year (and the other years under DJ) were a direct result of bad coaching/game planning/conservative calls? I do...in fact I think it had more to do with that than the QB's themselves. If we win the Dallas MN game, the opener against the Pats, or any other close game, TE looks a lot better to the expert fans on this board. Teams tend to take on the personality of their coach.....DJ....great pass defense (although lack of pass rush) and totally mystifying decisions in critical situations....the offense played like a team afraid to make a mistake, inturn making HUGE mistakes. This offense had DJ's stank all over it. Not to mention they fired their OC right before the season opener!!! I think these guys will play better with a different HC and offensive philosophy. my $0.02
  11. I was working here in Ptown about 3.5 years ago and found the Bills Backer bar of choice here on TSW. I went and watched a couple games, met some GREAT Bills fans too....some from WNY and some from abroad. Good times. But it just did not feel like a Bills Bar......it was nore like a bar that tolerated Bills fans and a backer bunch. But this year, I found a real Bills bar. "The Cheerful Bullpen". I am living/working in a suburb, 20 minutes or so from Portland. So I took the light rail in and it drops me right at the doorstep of this bar. I was thirsty, so decided to grab a beer at this place. The entrance has a Bills floor mat....and when I walked in, there are Bills memeorabelia and posters everywhere. The two bartenders were even wearing Bills shirts.....Bills gear in April??? I found my new home for watching the games this year. Go Bills!!

  13. HAHAHA!!! that's awesome.....I can see Godell stripping them of Draft Coverage rights "I am imposing a suspension of 3 years on ESPN from covering the draft" I watched NFLN for day two and three.....ESPN day one (not by choice)....I say NFLN was way better at it, as they have been the last couple years I have watched them.
  14. why couldn't McShay or Kiper lose their voice? Mayock said more but didn't talk as much
  15. Corey has been a draft addict for many years now. I have read and seen interviews with him while he was still playing, back when he was a Cardinal. Since he was a kid, he said he has studied and catalogued a lot of film relating to football. He has his own draft website called draftnasty. I remember watching him as a guest on the draft years back when Berman and ESPN were the only network covering it. He'd be an excellent evaluator for NFL teams if he retires.....i think he is still techinacally a FA (?) He studies prospects with a great deal of scrutiny to small details. These details often are the difference in reality vs. perception when it comes to the unknowns surrounding NFL prospects.
  16. which is exactly why he should remain on the team....he's a really good runningback, people seem to forget that.....hey, we have a good stable of backs, what's wrong with that?
  17. in the league today, especially in a 3-4, this should not be viewed as "depth". These guys will be in a rotation. Schobel might retire, and even if he doesn't this year, he will soon. I really don't see Carrington as depth, but part of the rotation.
  18. seriously, when you are wearing a helmet and pads and cleats and running 15 yards apart from the nearest defender, 5'10, 5'11, and 6'0 are pretty much the same. HA HA....yeah, he is dwarfed by all the great 6'2 RB's in the league.....gimme a f*cking break people
  19. The Bills addresed the deficiencies at the QB position/Offense by selecting Spiller....a guy that will make a QB/Offense look better on day one. If it's true that Gailey can get the best out of mediocre QB's (Tomszack, Fiedler, Stewart, Thigpen), then maybe the Bills think he can do the same with.....no, not an unproven rookie QB.....but with the QB's he currently has on staff. Remember, with the names above, he did not draft any of them, he inherited them. So, I believe he can do the same with the current Bills QB's, namely Edwards.... That is my best guess. So, with their Rd 2 pick, I don't expect them to take or move up to select Clausen or McCoy. Why would they? If the current QB's on the roster are a question mark, then the rookies-to-be are even more of a question mark. Look for them to take an OT, DT, OLB/DE, or WR. My prediction: Kindle or Charles Brown Comments?
  20. In his Mock Draft 3.0, he had the Bills taking Clausen at #9
  21. also, I need to ask, did anyone else see Berman lose his cool? it was during the Tebow pick (actually right before).....ESPN was seguing in from a "feel good draft flashback" but the camera was on the crew too early I suppose, and caught Gruden saying to Kyper something to the affect of "....they should say its a crazy league with a lot of dumb ass ....(picks?)...." and Kiper starts cracking up as Berman tries to distract and pull things together. It was pretty funny...then even funnier was another time where Berman started freaking out b/c the camera was on them while they were talking "off mic". Good stuff...unitentional comedy... I was drinking quite heavily at the time, so maybe I am not recounting it very accurately
  22. word! I think this pick is the epitome of professionals doing what they do best and not worrying about the negative feedback by those who think they know what is better for a team vs. the one's who actually have studied what will help the team most. This was, in their eyes (and mine) the best player there at that pick. The Jets have the best D and DB in the AFCE and no one seems to be crying about the CB they took.
