  1. The spirit of my point was accurate. I do voice it.
  2. Oh no, all the veterans of the forum are ganging up on me. Im really scared. Next time, I won't feel at liberty to speak truth on a forum (I thought that was the point). It is too often met with contempt.
  3. Public Service announcement to all people on Two Bills Drive. (All done in a 50's official TV voice) Never dare to draw your own inferences from your own observations of a player if they are indeed negative. At least half the forum will make sarcastic jokes about the stupidity of such inferences even if multiple rational people drew them. After all Stevie Johnson has never put himself before the team in the past so there is no record to go on. Wait he once got a 15-yard penalty for excessive celebration after scoring a touchdown. Wait, then after being told not to do it again, he fake-shot himself in the leg to mock another player on the opposing team and received another 15 yard penalty and was benched by the coach. Though it was hilariously funny and I love Stevie, he still put himself before the team. Now he has been paid his money and multiple observant people drew the conclusion that there have been signs of an attitude early in the season. But shut up if you saw this and came to your own conclusions. Other people may be offended that you would draw a negative conclusion. On a final note, Stevie, I hope you enjoyed your matinee.
  4. David Nelson is a good player. He will definitely make next year's team if his healing goes well and he is back to his old self.
  5. Hahaha. I saw that highlight on buffalobills.com. I started cracking up. He ran through him like he was a four foot snowman haha. It was almost like he the fullback wasn't even there there.
  6. I am factoring in last season as well. While early in last season, he converted on more than a few third and shorts (can't be minimized), his impact fizzled late. Also, nobody seems to mention the fumble he had in week two involving Spiller. However, after more discussion on this thread I adjusted my opinion a bit, which is more in line with your views. I think we should dump Thiggy once T-Jack is up to speed on the offense now. This would leave Brad Smith to fill the roles he is already filling. However, I still think T-Jack would be a good wildcat. He can run despite him not being used this way in other NFL systems. I think the reason they didn't use him this way was because he was their #1 QB so the risk of injury was too great. In the end, I see some value in Smith (more than Thiggy when T-Jack is on the roster). So, I now think we should keep Smith for this year.
  7. I pretty much agree with your entire post. I was getting pissed all Jets game that we were playing "off the line" in the secondary. Sometimes our guys were freaking 8 yeards off the line. It was ridiculous. Getting d-line pressure and playing press coverage go together. If the QB can just get rid of it because evrybody is open in the first second of a play, then the rush will do nothing. The QB will just go to his hot read if there is pressure. Why can't coaches see the obvious sometimes? FOOTBALL IS NOT ROCKET SCIENCE. It was a really stupid gameplan. He made changes in week two which hinted at competence but I'll make a more clear judgment on Wanny by about week 8.
  8. One thing that was a huge breath of fresh air when Fitz took over for Trent was he would actually throw downfield. I would get so frustrated with Trent never taking a shot and making the D cover the whole field. He would go in and throw 2 4-yard passes, one would be incomplete and they would run one down for 3 yards. Time to punt. I'll take Fitz's style of play over Trent's easily. He takes shots when necessary.
  9. I love celebrating the win, trust me. I just know that's what the other 80% of the forum will post about and I take part in those talks too. However, in your talking about a great wealth of information and insight, I too think that is very valuable. That is why it is not good to be a bipolar fan and get super high with a win and super low with a loss. A wise fanbase is able to see where the team is lacking even when they win. And also, to see where they were good when they lost. You will see me post positively after losses too.
  10. True! Our run D has been stout in both games. Let's hope the Bills D gives Richardson a couple "welcome to the NFL" moments.
  11. I said I needed to see more to be convinced so I admit, it could be a little jump of the gun that something is going on. However, signs were there and multiple people saw them. Plus, I don't have an outdated mold on how football players should act. I'm in my twenties haha. Hey don't you think it is good to not fluctuate 100% with wins and losses? After a win should every post be about how the team is awesome and there were no problems? I really hope that's not how the team operates.
  12. As I said, this dynamic is in the early stage of development. After watching the game with no preconceptions that Stevie would be moody, I walked away thinking that he was. Clearly there are other people who came away with the same impression as this thread has been started. It may not get any worse and it could be a false alarm, but I picked up on a vibe from him, that's all I'm saying. Some people just don't pick up on body language cues well as I said. Well if you do pick up on cues and you were watching Stevie this past Sunday, there was a little bit of cause for concern. Do I have to see more to be fully convinced there is a problem? Yes. If we win 5 in a row if there is a problem, will it show itself? No. Winning solves everything. But if we start losing a bunch of games and Fitz is playing like crap, we'll see if sh** hits the fan with this dynamic.
  13. Yeah, I agree. Mario is making in impact in ways that are not easily seen. I have certainly felt jumping his case to be very premature for those who have done it on here. We've had him for 2 games. Just because somebody makes 100 millionn doesn't mean they are the incredible hulk and can just flcik off 315 pound men on every play. He is making an impact and will get his share of sacks. My only concern with him is injury. He tore the pectoral last year. Early in his career he struggled with turf toe which can be nagging. And now this year he already has a wrist issue. Please play all 16!
  14. I am totally with you on this. I was going to bring it up on here, but I knew all the eternal optimists would jump my case for pointing out a negative. His body language and facial expressions have been very divaesque. Anybody who is good at reading these cues can easily pick up on it. I am definitely worried about it. I also get the sense that Fitz is trying to please him and this might affect his decision-making. Instead of letting the defense dictate and finding the open man, he might be feeling pressure to get Stevie his stats. This dynamic is in the early stages of development, but like you, I certainly have picked up on it.
  15. Yeah, I agree with the general consensus. This by no means whatsoever should be a trap game. If even a couple of Bills think this one is in the bag, we've got a real problem. While the Browns are by no means a powerhouse, it sounds like they are a feisty team that plays for a full 60. The Bills were 4-12 two years ago and 6-10 1 year ago. They are one game removed from a beatdown by the Jets. If they are taking anything for granted, they are a bunch of idiots. That being said, i really don't think they are. This is an important game. It gives them a chance to establish a road win early in the season and get that off of their backs. Hopefully, one road win early can translate to better play for the rest of the season. Go get 'em Bills!
  16. Haha. Yeah I was a bit shocked to see the title. There are some Browns fans commenting on the article pissed about the trap game title hahaha.
  17. Who would have thought after the Bills week 1 performance the national news would be talking about a trap game for the Bills. http://espn.go.com/b...-game-for-bills
  18. I think it is a little early to proclaim they are the best in the league. Firstly, I don't know enough about all the other teams' lines. Secondly, as you noted, it is only week 2. Thirdly, Cordy Glenn is a rookie and we have only seen 2 regular season games out of him. Are all things looking great thus far? Absolutely. But I am going to hold off that they are the number one O-Line in the league for a number of more weeks. The "Buffal-O-Line" Brutals
  19. I'm really not sure. I would be surprised if they kept Fitz, Jackson, Thigpen, and Smith for the entire year though. No way they keep all 4. If I were forced to guess, I would go 8 weeks until T-Jack is somewhat serviceable.
  20. I know how to use "your" and "you're" properly, believe me. As you can see by reading this entire thread, I have been very active in responding to a lot of responses thoroughly, therefore I did not go back and proof read each post. I apologize for making a couple of grammar mistakes. Should I cite all of my sources next time in APA or MLA style for you too?
  21. Thanks. I would be all for getting rid of Thigpen, but for now we pretty much would have nobody who could legitimately run an offense behind Fitz. T-Jack isn't up to speed on the offense yet and that seems like it might be a while. Brad Smith is an absolute emergency situation 3rd stringer. Therefore, we have to keep Thigpen until T-Jack is up to speed. I would be for a plan to dump Thiggy over Smith when T-Jack is up to speed for sure. We must keep in mind that Nix gave up a draft pick for T-Jack. He is in the future plans as we know Nix covets his draft picks. I don't think this is the case, but I pray to God they don't think he is a project for Gailey to turn into the starter if Fitz doesn't work out. He needs to be the backup/wildcat and then bring in a high level prospect next year for development.
  22. T-Jack has a better career passer rating than Thigpen (by about 7 points) as well as more yards etc. So yeah, get rid of B Smith and Thigpen next year (Hopefully 1 this year). This very well could be the plan. Then hopefully we can finally bring in a QB that has legitimate potential to be elite and develop him.
  23. For the most part that is how he has been used I believe, however, he is very athletic and I believe ran in the 4.6's for his 40. He certainly fits the wildcat mold.
  24. If my memory serves me right, the Bills were actually aggressively pursuing T-Jack during the off-season in which Seattle signed him. The story was he signed with Seattle because they would give him a chance to be the legit starter (which they did) as opposed to the Bills wanting to use him more as a backup/wildcat. This was the offseason that the Bills ended up signing Brad Smith after failing to get T-Jack. T-Jack has been a legit quarterback in this league for quite a few games which means he has reasonable ability to pass. This is not true of Brad Smith. His passing abilities are extremely suspect. Therefore, to your point about passing, T-Jack would be a much bigger threat; and not only a threat but could truly be effective with the occasional pass. I also like a bigger, stockier body in the wildcat than the skinny Smith. T-Jack fits the bill there more. Evidence of this could be the Bills seemed to prefer him over Smith for this role prior to him signing with Seattle. One thing I will give Smith though is people do not know where he is going to line up when he goes to the huddle. This causes difficult personel matchups for the defense. Since Smith can be a serviceable WR, when he enters the game with Fitz in the huddle, the defense does not know whether it will be wildcat or if he will ineup as a wideout. I am not calling for Smith's head like he has been horrible. I think he does offer some value. However, he has played 18 games in Buffalo and his impact has been minimal. We have 4 QBs on the 53 man roster if you count Smith. We are short on WRs on the 53 man roster even if you count Smith there too. The Bills may be doing exactly what some people on this forum are calling for; getting T-Jack ready to takeover the wildcat role and be a legit 3rd string quarterback as well. It will just take time to get him up to speed on the offense. Only time will tell.
