Very good, right on the money and mostly fair, I think. My only question is the use of Smerlas as a source, as if he is a loyal and/or interested ex-Bill. Fred has been hypercritical of the Bills from the minute he left the team. On Boston radio he regularly lashed out at the team, the city and the fans. An uninformed reader might think he was some sort of objective former player giving an honest assessment. His history suggests otherwise.

Maybe that is what he meant, but I don't understand what that has to do with being a "football man". I think Chan will be a far better offensive coach than anyone we've had in a while, and hopefully a far better HC too. But there are lenient great coaches and crappy coaches and hard-asses that are good and bad, as well. Remember Greggo and the bullhorn. He must have been a GREAT coach...right?

Can you say "Marshawn Lynch"? He's a first round pick making starter $$. By your logic he HAS to start.

What does that mean? I'm no fan of Jauron, but he was certainly a "football man". He played in the NFL, was a good DC and was a head coach for three teams. He was a crappy HC, but how was he not a "football man"? Or, if you didn't mean Dick, what exactly are you talking about? Are there any Head Coaches in the NFL that aren't "football men"?

Certainly Lori. She is an institution at this institution. Tim is fine, and it was nice having him around. I can deal with him not being here if that's his choice. I think some of the attacks on him were stupid, but I'm a bit surprised his skin isn't a tad thicker. It is an internet forum and stupidity and cruelness are fairly common in this arena.

I hope Easley pans out. I am concerned about the reports of dropped passes and noticed on the one nice TD he caught he looked very nonchalant when going after the ball. Of course, the proof will be in games and I am hoping for the best.
