Are you worried he chokes up when in the red zone? You don't think a bit of that (or more) inability to get a TD is related in any way to his teammates, circumstance of the game when he gets to play, etc? I can think of quite a few games when Trent failed to score a TD, yet many believe he still has an upside. I'm not discounting your argument, at least you brought something to the table. And if that really is an issue (he is unable to lead the team to TDs) then I'd agree that's a big downside.

CNN/SI Story - Bills Trounce Colts

Maybe Matthews is going to read about it in the News, and then report what he thought about it tomorrow. -

In preseason it tends to be a bit more complicated than that. -

Shrimp delayed until tomorrow. (Story to stupid to repeat.) Sauv is nothing special, as far as I know. A 2008 Obviously Sauvignon Blanc. Never had it. The guy at the local wine shop claims it was very good for the $. He is fairly good at picking when I feel like listening. I'm fairly buzzed right now. So, I'm going to toss together a quick sauce for some pasta (I have some hot sausage and chicken available...haven't decided the direction of the sauce, yet) and finish the last bit of Malbec. -

AP? Probably that douche Joh.... Oh, never mind. -
Bill will never be labeled a "troll" here. At least not if I have anything to say about it. (Come to think of it, I don't.) Bill has been here too long, has bled too much blue Bills' blood rooting for this team for too many years. But we all are occasionally guilty of seeing/interpreting events in a way that supports our preconceived notions. (Well at least most of us are guilty.) But I have to say this latest issue is fairly incomprehensible to me. Now Ralph is the guy who makes the 1st round draft picks, and does so solely with the idea of selling tickets? (If so, does that let Levy off your hook, Bill?) Ralph picked Donte Whitner to sell tickets? Ralph picked a relatively unknown WR out of Wisconsin to sell tickets? Ralph picked Maybin to sell tickets? WTF? Ralph must be the stupidest mofo around. There are plenty of players available who would be bigger box office draws than any of these guys. Even Spiller would be an unlikely pick if your intention was to stir up fan interest and sell tickets. As was mentioned Tebow would have been a far better PR pick. Even Clausen would have drawn more interest from Buffalo area fans, IMO. I think it's borderline insanity to think that A. Ralph makes the draft picks (with the exception for the very occasional mid-to-late round guy who he has taken a shine to). and B. That he picked Spiller to sell tickets.

OK, lay out a cogent argument here. I'll listen. Tell me about what you have seen on the field, from Brohm, that leads you to believe he has a very large downside. I am not interested in circumstantial arguments about when he was picked, but what about his game (throwing motion, ability to read defenses, accuracy, pocket presence, etc) leads you to believe his downside is markedly worse than Fitz's and that his upside isn't worth the risk. I'm not convinced BB is the second coming, but judging on the limited play that I've seen, he looks to be a QB with some potential.

I was at that game. It was an ALCS game in Oakland (if this is the one you are referring to). It was total BS, IMO, and I'm not a big Roger fan. We had great seats and had no idea what had happened. Whatever Roger did to get tossed was not evident from the stands. He must have whispered "I ass bumped your wife last night" to the ump, because I can't think of anything else that would have justified an ejection in that kind of game, if it wasn't blatant enough to see from my seat. Now, after getting tossed, he went a bit nuts. But I understand that.

Meantime in the real Muslim world
The Dean replied to Jim in Anchorage's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Little Johnny is walking down the hall when he hears a noise from his parents room. He knocks on the door and asks his mom what’s going on. “Playing cards,” she replies. “Who’s your partner?” asked little johnny. “Your father!” Content with his answer, Little Johnny walks further down the hall towards his room when he hears the same noise coming from his sister’s room. Again, he knocks on the door and asked his sister what was she doing. “Playing cards.” “With who?” he asks. ”My boyfriend!” she says. A short while later, Little Johnny’s father is walking down the hall and hears a noise coming from Little Johnny’s room. He knocks on the door and asks ”What are you doing?” “Playing cards!” replied Johnny. ”Who’s your partner?” asked his father… Little Johnny answers promptly, “With a hand like this who needs a partner?” -

Yes, it currently is more expensive to execute someone than to keep them in prison. If we are committed to execute some criminals we should work to reduce that nut, while retaining proper protections. But the idea of choosing the death penalty on the basis that it is the more cost efficient punishment is beyond lunacy. -
Now would this annoy you? (It would, me...)

The death penalty CAN be a deterrent. It just isn't typically a very good deterrent. It's very effective at preventing recidivism, though. -

You should change the subject line from "Wow!" to "Son of a B word!" or possibly "Motherfu##er!". That would clear things up, IMO. -

Peameal bacon is fantastic, but not your typical bacon. I just Googled Trader Joe's Nitrate Free Bacon, and noticed they have a pre-cooked product like that. That is NOT what I was talking about.

The major issue I have with the original post is, Ralph Wilson didn't pick Spiller. He signed off on the pick, I'm sure. But the idea that Ralph was responsible for the choice is folly beyond belief.

Bite your tongue, man! Pancetta is gourmet bacon! But it isn't something I regularly throw on a plate with eggs. But when a recipe calls for pancetta use it. Smoked bacon is not a good substitute, IMO. Yes, I use a cold pan (unless making multiple batches). The best traditional "bacon" I ever had was from Trader Joe's. It was organic (I think) and contained no nitrites. I didn't buy it because it was nitrite free. I noticed it after eating it, when it tasted so great. \
