Well I can see how one might think that. But JBJ is the lead on this, whatever we might believe about his partners. It's entirely possible (and I happen to think it is likely) that Jaws believed JBJ when he said he believed he could make this thing work in Buffalo. After all, Jaws has always been a strong supporter of Buffalo. To think that Jaws was purposefully duplicative on this is unfathomable to me. He never mentioned the partners, to my knowledge. He specifically spoke to JBJ's credibility. I wish the interviewer would have brought the topic up and then we'd have something more substantial to go on. But by all means, believe whatever you want. BTW, I'd like to add this. In the very unlikely event the JBJ group wins the bid (I'd be more than shocked if that happens) as Bill fans we'd be stupid to be anything but supportive. That's simply playing into the TO group's hands. It would make it easy for them to move the team (OK, easier). We should make it as hard as possible for them to justify a move.

NFL Sunday Ticket from Tablet to Big Screen?
The Dean replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm not sure if it's the same as the NFL preseason package, but they have a very unusual full screen icon. Took me awhile to figure it out. I'm actually quite embarrassed to admit it. -
I notice the same thing every time I read the comment. I was wondering if Mel Gibson had joined the forum.

Appreciated. But that just shows he was only talking about BJB. There is nothing there about his partners. I thought maybe there was a quote somewhere where he actually addressed that.
-
Not really. Of course you do. As I said, I understand. i just don't agree.

I suppose that explains the poor quality of your smoothies.

Wait a second here. You just + 1,000 a post (btw one can only + 1, anyting else is foolish) that claimed "Jaws tried to convince Bills fans that JBJ and his backers had no interest in ever moving the team to Toronto". Certainly you can do better than that for a response, no? It's fairly obvious (to me, anyway) Jaws was speaking specifically to JBJ's intentions. The guys are friends and I suppose talk quite frequently. They co-owned a team. He was commenting that JBJ had never mentioned moving the team. I'm guessing that is true. It is clear he never mentioned it publically. Jaws believes his friend has integrity. Despite the fact that I don't like JBJ (not because of his attempt to by the Bills but because he is a terrible singer on a horrible rock band) I suppose he may be a man of basic integrity. (I honestly have no idea one way or the other, but he seems to be generally held in high regard outside of Buffalo.) At worst, Jaws was a rube. He didn't give proper consideration to the fact that JBJ has powerful partners from TO who have previously expressed interest in moving the team to that city. I simply can't believe he was throwing Buffalo under the bus and operating as a co-conspirator to the TO group. I'm just not buying that.

I don't recall Jaws ever addressing the intention of Bon Jovi's partners. Do you have a quote?
-
He did not. But I can understand why some might interpret that way.

Would you swap EJ for Manziel right now?

Sure why not? Every move must be something other than it appears. -
Whaley: 'Nobody has called Bills about Spiller'
The Dean replied to qblax16's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Look. If something happens between now and next season, where: the Bills lose a player where they have minimal backup Spiller's contract talks aren't going well (that will have to wait until he gets an agent, but he says that will be soon) A team who needs a RB has a player they can spare at a position the Bills need---or a high draft pick a trade could happen. -
Bills season tickets are over 46K & they announce a new policy
The Dean replied to bbb's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I honestly have no problem with that. You are one of the good guys. It's those who are basically investors that get me. Don't give a damn about the game. Seats they buy are strictly for resale. The Bills sold out for many years while this was illegal. Of course, it's tougher to keep the fan base loyal (and coming to the games in bad weather) when they stink. Put a quality product on the field and those things take care of themselves in Buffalo. -
New Bar in East Village for Game Viewing

Will do. Soda is for scotch. -
A GREAT album. Why not, Jaws is involved. (BTW, I think fans gave Jaws a raw deal for his comments. But I get it. He's still the best analyst in football.)

Thanks for lying on the grenade, but I'm pretty sure I am the one who got us off track. I hope you guys have fun in your downstate bar. -
Whaley: 'Nobody has called Bills about Spiller'
The Dean replied to qblax16's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No. He can say "they are not on the block" which is what Whaley said, in different words. It would be sensationally stupid for any GM to categorically state Player X will NEVER be traded. Trying to nit pick his statement is something I don't really care to do. He left no doubt they are not currently talking with any team about a trade. That's good enough. EVERY player is up for trade if the price/circumstance is right. -

The Bills shored up the RB position, but not necessarily for a trade. In fact I'm pretty sure that isn't the reason, as Bryce fumbles too much to be a #1 back, IMO. He didn't, and shouldn't, preclude the trading of Spiller at some future time, should something come along. Why put yourself in a box, where you will either miss an opportunity or be made a liar? -

As has been pointed out, at the time Whaley made the Stevie statement, it was true. And I believe the same holds true for the CJ remark. To date, no contact with any team/no trade discussions. Things can change, of course. He didn't say "We will never trade Spiller no matter what offer we get." That would simply be stupid. -
Apparently it's contagious!

I assume those are all names of Bon Jovi songs? I really don't know as I never listen to Bon Jovi.
