  1. Same here.
  2. The obnoxious shrieking of Geddy Lee's "voice" makes Rush unlistenable. They should put that poor animal out of his misery. There are other reasons to hate them, of course. IMO---that does without saying.
  3. That kool aid you're drinking has a bit too much sugar for me. Do you have any diet kool aid, maybe something like Crystal Light---say 8-8 or 9-7 and maybe a Wild Card?
  4. If released, and if he clears waivers, I'm not against having a look. But someone will throw a 7th rd pick Belicheat's way.
  5. New GM and HC here for a whopping one year yet you have made your judgement. (Whaley had a year experience before that, but not as GM) They ARE the decision makers. Blaming scouts for decisions is just bulls@#t./ By your logic, as long as they remain in Buffalo and call themselves the Bills, everything will always be the same. If so, I believe consistency of management would benefit things, as constant change gets us nowhere.
  6. Just an FYI as it is being discussed: http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/170052-ryan-mallett-anyone/
  7. Same guys all the time, for several years. And until the team turns it around there isn't much to say to them. Even then I wonder if some will be happy. Same guys who predict failure for every draft pick. Predicting success is a lot riskier than predicting failure, especially with a losing team.
  8. You are still blaming the mistakes of old management on the current regime. Why would you clean house again? These guys didn't cause the mess. They are doing their best to fix it.
  9. Whatever input Overdorff and Littman had in personnel had to have been minimal. But even it the rumors were heard are true, what makes you think that continues, or will continue? I'm guessing guys like this will be gone, but who really cares if they can do the job they are meant to do at a high level? How does this reflect on Whaley who is the current GM? And to address BillsVet, was ignoring the QB position in 2011-12 a mistake. Well, I believe it was. Whaley corrected that mistake by addressing the position the following year. He also did a lot to address the OL in the offseason. Not liking the players he chose is not the same thing as "not addressing" the situation. You have to give these guys a clean slate and not pin your perceived sins of the past on them. Cleaning house is typically not the smartest management strategy.
  10. The GM IS responsible for the contracts. Do you think Overdorff and Littman are picking the players and deciding who to extend?
  11. Overdorf? Littman? First you tried hanging personnel decisions on Brandon. That was bad enough. Now these guys make signing decisions? You've gone round the bend on this one. Maybe there are still secretaries who word processed some of those contracts. They need to GO! Can't have them making the same mistakes.
  12. I think Freeman is one of those guys who might have been a good QB had he not been asked to start so soon. The failure, and resulting loss of confidence (from coaches, teammates, fans and most of all, self confidence) can take it's toll. Some QBs can work past that, others tend to fold up, I think. Perhaps on a different team, or with a different coach, he might have made it. I suppose it's possible he still may. But I agree, it does seem as though he lost the will.
  13. Yes, the dead cap represents sins of past FO management. Fortunately, it seems to have had no impact on things this year. It could have been a problem had the Bills needed this money. But as they still have cap room it isn't an issue. We are lucky to have dodged that bullet, but we did. Part ot the reason for the dead cap is the turnover at GM and HC. We have a new one. I'm guessing you don't like either one, and would like to change again. Likely result? More dead cap. The past isn't the present and it isn't the future. FO has changed significantly and there will be a new other soon. You really need to get over trying to blame this current team.
  14. While they are caricatures I think you give them too much credit to think the purpose of their extremeness is to act as whether vanes. I agree that many of their ilk don't believe half of what they say, but do it for entertainment. They may function as whether vanes, but that's different than a purposeful goal. I'm pretty sure their intent is to garner ratings/popularity/money. And they don't run for office for several reasons, but mostly because there's not as much money in it. But this is getting way too political for TSW. I apologize.
  15. Fair enough, but the situations are a bit different I think. Henderson was immature and plays a position that is a bit more brawn than brain. Mallett was seen as "not too bright" and a guy who made bad decisions on the field, and QB is a far more cerebral position, I think. Different kinds of head cases and different positions.
  16. It was a joke. But listening to political commentators who cling to an ideology (be it "conservative", "liberal/progressive", "libertarian" or whatever), care more about promoting that ideology (and attacking their perceived opposition) and concocting fake controversy, than reasonably discussing issues and the pros and cons of various solutions, strikes me as a rather unproductive exercise. (Was that last sentence long enough?) For the most part these commentators are speaking to a base that already agrees with everything they say, and their listeners take what they say as gospel, and at face value. Sometimes I think they are more akin to robots than people. I can't listen to sports talk for some of the same reasons (phony controversy, extreme judgements, etc).
  17. I wouldn't exactly call them "people".
  18. Well in that case: Brilliant post! Welcome to the forum.
  19. I'm not sure anyone questions his arm strength. His head has always been the issue with him, going back to college.
  20. For Christ's sake.
  21. The band? Limbaugh? Can't stand either one, frankly.
  22.   Someone want to translate this newbie's post for an old guy?
  23. Based on? Much rather give him a shot than Mallett. (Based on?) Well not much, accept his game in college was far more cerebral than Mallett's. And he hasn't demonstrated he sucks yet.--something Mallett has managed to demonstrate on a few occasions.
