  1. Who did you mean? I'm assuming you meant Michael League. Whole collective is talented, though.
  2. Depends what kind of friends he wants.
  3. Not the way Manfred Mann sings it.
  4. Relatively new, but only recently discovered by me. Carolina Chocolate Drops: http://youtu.be/Da08oMVJ09Y Snarky Puppy: Budos Band:
  5. There was a point when it was almost unmoderated outside of self-moderation. The plethora of redundant threads, typically by the usual suspects, make the board nearly as unbearable as the current "one giant thread". We didn't self-moderate enough to ignore the redundant threads and/or the posters who engaged in them. Corrections often (typically?) result in over-correction. I'm just hoping the board finds a middle ground.
  6. Shouldn't this be merged with the "test" thread on the OTW sub-forum? Mods? Mods?
  7. "Love" The best word, and included in 87.6% of every song with lyrics. (Unscientific poll) Some Steely Dan-related niceties include: Squonk Roppongi Rabelaisian Masissi Kundalini Ikat Grok Baion
  8. Way back when, I came because TBD was one of the first, and best, Bills news aggregators. No matter where I lived I kept up with all the latest Bills news. Eventually I became a member of TSW. Exchanging opinions with like-minded Bills fans was fun and educational. I made many online friendships as well as a few terrific real-life friendships. The community at one time really was a "community". Also, because I had a lot of sit around and wait time on my job, I spent way to much time here. Over time, this sight, deservedly, blew up. It became hugely popular. And like most great things, becoming popular was a double edged sword. IMO, the community, as well as the intelligent conversation, suffered. The signal to noise ratio became more than I could tolerate. And, besides, there are plenty of places to get Bills info these days. I'd still check in from time to time, but didn't have the same kind of fervor to get involved with the conversation. And, besides, I don't often have the sit around and wait time I once had. But when the Bills sale started to get going, TSW once again, was the best place for information. Not only for the aggregated articles, which can be found elsewhere. But specifically for the insight of "in the know" posters, such as Kirby, Bandit, Kelly, etc. All of a sudden, for a short time, and in a few threads, the signal to noise ratio was VERY acceptable. This place was on fire! I hope there continues to be enough reason to stay involved (at least in some small way) for the foreseeable future. But I have to admit, it gets harder all the time. Still posters like Yolo and 26CB provide a lot of information, and are generally terrific posters. So they keep me coming back.
  9. I know I may be in the minority here, but I've seen growth in Manuel's game this year. Still he has struggled the past couple weeks. But there are other issues with the offense which need to be addressed,. I'll be a bit surprised if this is the last we see of EJ. Like you, I hope he learns while watching, for now. I know I'm rooting for him.
  10. Believe it or not, None. There are a couple who I have considered adding due to the fact they offer nothing of value---ever. But someone will respond to them and then I'll see their moronic drivel anyway. Besides, if you have to hit the "Ignore" button, the forum terrorists win.
  11. I have an pair of older Bose noise cancelling phones for flights (hand me down from my brother). I rarely fly anymore, so they don't get a lot of use. They do a good job of noise cancelling, but the sound quality is just OK (I've never been a big fan of Bose sound). I actually like the sound of my $80 Sennhelser's better--plus they are extremely comfortable. (I really have never found a more comfortable headphone than the Senn's open-aire on the ear design. I had a pair of fantastic Beyer Dynamic phones at one of my previous jobs, but they were uncomfortable is worn for a long time.) I agree these look great for a bike ride. So I will be anxiously awaiting your review.
  12. Interesting , but I remain skeptical as to how good the sound could. be. I can't wear standard ear buds as they fall out of my ear almost instantly (plus the sound has never impressed me). For now I will stick to my Sennheiser on the ear (open-aire) phones. But I will stay tuned for the reviews on these bones.
  13. I know some swear by Mariposa's subs. I never was a fan, though.
  14. I prefer the Viola's on Elmwood to the one on Military. Maybe because they always took good care of me, and put extra steak on my subs. But the LaSalle location is pretty good, and as you note, very convenient to the high school in the old days. I can't deny I've eaten my share of Viola's while driving. But I usually get mine plain (Meat. Cheese. Bun.) However my favorite way to eat these subs is to take them immediately to the closest local bar. You might be surprised how many old guys decide to go get themselves one after seeing me chow down---or maybe you wouldn't be surprised at all.
  15. They really don't get any better. John and Marys? Wegmans? Puhleeze.
  16. I was born yesterday When they brought my Kamakiri
  17. I don't care to read through 18 pages of this thread, so please excuse me if I'm just reiterating things that have already been said. I'm guessing that will be the case. I don't hate the move, neither do I love it, at this point. If playing Orton helps to open up the playbook a bit then it will be a good thing, I think. EJ has shown that, at least at the moment, he isn't ready to put the team on his back to win games. I have doubts Orton is that guy, either. While I don't think EJ is the sole reason the Bills have lost the past two games, he certainly was one of the reasons. But without better OL play, play calling, and without the receivers holding onto catchable passes, I think the offense is doomed to make little progress. If nothing else, this move should help the team evaluate the offense without the excuse of the limitations they put on EJ at this stage in his career. Also I suppose, we will see if EJ has the fortitude to survive the demotion (I believe he is mentally tough enough to to so). If he isn't, he probably isn't the QB of the future for this team. Alex Smith is a guy who had similar early struggles in his career and successfully fought through being benched early in his career. EJ has a better skill set than Smith, I think. I just wish our offense looked as well designed as theirs did tonight. For now, can we just enjoy being tied for 1st place in the division, and savoring the superb ass-kicking of Pats* tonight? Or, as Bill fans, is that out of the question?
  18. Then perhaps you should stop saying you don't care about stats and rely only on "your eye".
  19. Good question, Chef. I've been out of the game for awhile, but at one time record sales (like book sales) was estimated on the number of units shipped to retailers (combined with other data). Obviously any kind of manufactured measurement (and they are all manufactured) can be manipulated. I try to be legit. If I can get something before it's officially released via the underground I may do it. Or if I'm just trying to see if I like something. But I pretty much always buy a hard copy of the stuff I really like. In fact, I typically end up buying more than one copy over time. The only time I pirate something (other than those I already acknowledged) is if it isn't available legitimately for sale. The artist deserves to be paid, IMO.
  20. They can, in context. Ignoring stats and only relying on your "eye" is just as incomplete of an analysis as only looking at stats. A complete and competent analysis takes quantitative and qualitative evidence into consideration.
  21. My God I'm Monstroso

  23. Actually, in context, stats show most of those things.
