  1. The world's tribulations will never be over. I imagine that's why some turn to religion in the first place.
  2. What I'm saying is, in this particular case, it might behoove them to give AP a pass on this particular offense. I'll be shocked if they do more than drag him in front of the judge and release him shortly thereafter with a bump in the bond. And I think that is as it should be. I won't list all the reasons I think that is prudent. But I will say it isn't because I think AP is a great guy getting railroaded (though I probably don't feel as badly about him as you). I might wonder, if this goes to court, how many in the jury pool might perceive this. But that isn't the only reason.
  3. Let me know when you start building.
  4. Good (mostly) to be back,
  5. Aye aye aye. Did I say suggest anywhere that it was a request? So, you are telling me NOBODY in the history of American jurisprudence has been given anything less than the full force of the law for every single infraction they may have committed while on bond? Is that what you are telling me, Bill? Discretion has never been used?
  6. It is said there is a thin line that separates genius from some guy with too much time on his hands.... Throw in Divine Inspiration and, well, who knows?
  7. Thanks for the heads-up. I have Comcast and I can get the schedule when I tune to a Center Ice station. So that looks good. Says the Sabres play tonight. I think you got the game time wrong in your original post, or perhaps it was changed.
  8. What was up next? Another local show? Pretty easy to just let Schopp thank everyone after the break, and start the next show a bit late. A syndicated show could be joined in progress. That's not really up to Schopp, though. What was in Schopp's control was for him to recognize it was Pegula and decide to let him have the rest of the show. Save his thanks for a guest appearance next week on someone else's show. But that takes quick thinking.
  9. I'm suggesting he is being treated differently than everyone else. So let's take our heads out of the sand and not pretend otherwise. The DA certainly knows it, and isn't proceeding, in every way, as if he would under normal circumstances. This might be one area he/she adjusts accordingly.
  10. This incident should help his future in radio.
  11. A perfect ending to a sad and miserable time in Buffalo radio. What a putz.
  12. Sorry, mistake on the probation. This is even less than that, on bond. An average Joe wouldn't have this sort of publicity and probably wouldn't even be charged on a first offense, bad as this incident might be. To suggest he be treated "like everyone else" is preposterous when he already isn't being treated that way. BTW, I'm not defending AP's child rearing techniques. He should be charged. Most people aren't. But most guys still get to go to work while the case is being decided. Most guys don't have the press all over every move. Etc. Since most "everyone else" doesn't have this side show, they aren't likely to be engaged in an even larger side-show for something as minor as smoking pot. Seriously, take the long view here. Arresting him for pot probably hurts the DA, at least in the eyes of much of the public.
  13. I don't disagree, Bill. But re-arresting him for "smoking a little weed" makes it look like the DA's office is "after him" and distracts from the real issues here, IMO. Smoking weed while on probation is stupid, but really not worth pursuing when there are actual serious issues. Do you think they should stop him if they catch him jaywalking, too? No need for the DA to contribute to a circus atmosphere here.
  14. Well, Brown's stuff can be schticky, and I can see how you could tire of it, if exposed to too much of it at an early age. But he sure can play the hell out of that guitar.
  15. Smoking pot shouldn't be a violation in this league. Absurd. Smoking pot while you are on probation, with a stipulation to abstain, is stupid and suggests Peterson isn't taking this thing seriously enough. But as was noted, perhaps he is covering for pot he smoked earlier. Possible I suppose but it makes little sense, IMO, as I think this makes him look much worse than admitting he smoked it before probation. But if the DA actually revokes his bail, and rearrests him, because of this he/she is a real moron, IMO. The damage to AP is already done. To take action on this the DA's office looks like it is on a witch hunt here. In the scope of things, this is a very minor (though very stupid) thing.
  16. Agreed. This was all for publicity.
  17. I refuse to wear a bike helmet. I'm not tough and if I rode a motorcycle I'd wear a helmet. But I pretty much only ride locally and grew up riding when nobody wore helmets. Plus, I have hair that gets helmet head really bad. As for the Yurbuds, they look interesting. Still I'll stick with my Sennheiser phones. But not for bike riding.
  18. Actually, didn't Metropoulos bid more than Trump? I trust him more than Trump to keep the team in Buffalo long term.
  19. SDS is right. We should all be accepting of what the recording industry shoves down our throats and simply agree that Justin Bieber is just as good as Joe Bonomassa and some boy band put together by a a marketing executive) is just as good, and valid, as The Band.Actually Bieber and the boy band might even be better, as they sell more records and are more popular. And it's sad that poor Bon Jovi boy was so poorly treated by Bills fans here. He is an outstanding member of the music community, and Bills fans should have been proud for him to own the team. Seriously SDS, is all culture equal?
  20. Well you are right about Beats. At last all that I have listened to were horrid. All branding. But I will always prefer real headphones to buds. I can't wear buds for long (they fall out of my ears) but even if I could i wouldn't. The sound of buds, compared to quality phones, just isn't very good. Maybe some very high-end, custom made, buds would impress me. But for a fraction of what they would cost, I can have killer headphones. I don't really give a damn what other people wear, so maybe that's why I haven't noticed a rise in the headphone wearing. I'm pretty sure I'm the only freakshow walking down the local beach with headphones. (Who's that crazy old man, with the headphones, bopping down the beach? And what do you suppose he is drinking from that water bottle?)
  21. Rumor has it he was bound for New Orleans.
  22. Rumor has it he just left Chicago... http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/171926-jesus-is-coming-ii/#entry3291451
  23. I tried to avoid using it, but eventually succumbed in post #62.
  24. And just a few months younger than me. RIP Jan.
  25. Whatchu talkin' about plenzmd? You can't take a bottle of water through security but you can take little bottles of booze? Seriously? I used to fill a water bottle with vodka or gin and an empty ice tea bottle with whiskey of some sort. But that stopped once the TSA banned water through security,. I don't fly very often, and my budget isn't what it used to be. But the past two times I flew I was hit with long delays. Long delays are hard on my wallet in an airport---but you do what you have to do. Truth is, I'd still probably hit the bar even if I had the little airline bottles. But I'd spend less on the aircraft. And White's Bay makes a good point (he usually does). Beer may not be your friend on a long flight. Always remember: Booze is the answer! (What was the question?)
