  1. I get the flu, at least once a year whether or not I get a flu shot. If it's coming through the area, I'm getting it. I have a hereditary anemia which may contribute to my body's poor immune system. I suppose in years where I get a flu shot, if they have successfully guessed what strain of flu is likely to hit, I may have been spared the full force of the flu---but how do you really know? I also tend to get sick following the flu shot about 50% of the time. I stopped getting flu shots for awhile, but I felt like I was getting hit harder with a couple really bad bouts. So, at my doctor's appt a couple weeks ago, he gave me the flu shot. Felt pretty bad for a couple days after and then...BAMN! got the flu. Lasted about a week. Not the worst as far as symptoms go, but still debilitating. Since I work in other people's homes and places of business, I can't exactly expose them to my illness. it effectively kept me out of work for a week. My question is, will I get the flu again in Jan/Feb? Probably. But maybe I'll miss my almost yearly Christmas flu.
  2. The violin solo National Anthem performed by Bobby Yang on MNF tonight was spectacular! http://nextimpulsesports.com/2014/10/13/bobby-yang-performed-national-anthem-violin-monday-night-football-absolutely-owned/
  3. I wonder if she can kegel this.
  4. Every year so far, this has been one of my favorite series. I wasn't disappointed by the first episode of this season.
  5. White space is your friend.
  6. I've seen that guy around NF when I last lived there--at least he looks very familiar. The guy who did the photography. Fred Scruton, has a very interesting site. There are features on several very cool artists on that site.
  7. Wouldn't the financial wing still be responsible for working the details of the contracts? I mean, what would be their job otherwise? Football guys make the decisions, but someone has to do the financial work.

  9. Honestly I don't think that has been the case for some time.
  10. I think that Pettine blitzed too much. Schwartz not enough. Did particularly like the look of the D today.
  11. I meant to give Valby some props in my last post. Good call. (The guy is a pretty damn good musician, actually.)
  12. Bufffalo has (had) many great musicians. Bobby Militello is arguably better than Chuck Mangione and still active. So is Jay Beckenstein for that matter. As for Cab Calloway, Buffalo produced Harold Arlen (a great songwriter), Groger Washington, Rick James, B word! And many more. Overlooked here are some of Buffalo's great local bands over the years. Gamalon. Bobby Jones and Rush Hour. Do any of the Reinhardts still play locally? While I've been gone quite a while, Buffalo was NOT a cover band town, as much as most other places I have lived (I'm looking at you, Long Island). Buffalo's musical diversity is immense. The focus in this thread just happens to be on pop rock. A shame really.
  13. Brandon really isn't a "bean counter" is he? He is a marketer, first and foremost. And, I believe Whaley was hired under his watch, so does he get credit for that, or just the blame for everything bad that happened?
  14. Pretty classy post on Mike's part. And I have to admit I was wondering if something happened (missed meeting?) this week to aid in this decision. But I think Kelly is likely right on this and it is just a football decision.
  15. \ Without more information, neither do I. Mike has stepped up and made catches when given the opportunity this year. A far better WR than Hogan. Perhaps he is dinged.
  16. Better to start bashing the new owner ASAP. Why wait until he actually make some decisions, right? Expect the worst!
  17. Littman is out per his decision, according to Pegula. The way El Pegul deferred to Brandon during the presser, I'll be surprised if he doesn't' stay. Good decision, too, IMO.
  18. Or you could just have some made. Pretty cheap to make those t-shirts. Sell them on TSW!
  19. Strange juxtaposition. But not as "wrong", IMO, as the Guns and Liquor store I believe I saw in Arizona. Now there's a nice combo!
  20. No, religious people are typically the most tolerant. I mean you NEVER hear of people fighting over their religious beliefs, do you? I find it humorous that some of the most vocally Christian (supposedly) people are some of the most hateful people I know. Maybe that's just a Southern thing. But I sometimes ask them after one of their hateful rants, "Does that sound Christ-like?" Now to be fair, I also know many very good Christian people, but they do far less talking about it than the others. I'm guessing that is pretty much the same among followers of all religions---and among those who have no religion at all. Mean spirited, xenophobic, self-righteous !@#$s abound. Wrapped in religion it just seems a bit more hypocritical, especially when it is Christianity.
  21. For some reason last night's game was only in SD in my area. Still nice to get to see the game. Thanks again, Buftex
  22. They certainly helped me out once or twice...
  23. I hear it might be during the bye week. I hope the crowd is riled up like the Miami game. They didn't seem loud at all when the Bills played San Diego.
  24. The world's tribulations will never be over. I imagine that's why some turn to religion in the first place.
