  1. How about "should have been more"? Don't like that? How about 9-7 with zero offense? That do it for you. Or should we subtract a game or two from the win total. And what does that small phrase have to do with whether or not the Bills are a very good opportunity for a HC this year? Because (News Flash!), typically teams with great QBs aren't looking for a new HC.
  2. I think many of these rules are designed to keep out the riff-raff. But since I can usually get in, obviously they aren't working well.
  3. Pasadena on Saban. I believe, all of a sudden, this became a plum job. The Bills won 9 games (easily should have been more) with zero offense. Just a marginal improvement in that area should immediately make them a contender. Plus they have a new owner with deep pockets.
  4. LAST year, in January. Right. In June he said this: http://www.foxsports.com/nfl/story/bill-cowher-thinks-he-will-return-to-nfl-someday-010813 I believe he made similar statements since then. But I don't feel like looking further.
  5. Indeed. Chip Kelly, who when he came to the NFL had far more college HC experience than Gus, is learning that. And I'm not 100% sold on him as a HC yet. I will give him credit for what he has done, though. Many creative NFL OCs have tried, and most have failed, at the HC level. Why is everyone convinced this guy is a sure thing? Really don't get it.
  6. But Internet rumors confirm Fox likes to 69. But hell, who doesn't?
  7. Cowher is only 57 years old and has a very long and impressive history of success--with marginal QBing I might add. He was always innovative, while still being a nuts-and-bolts old school HC. We'd be foolish to not consider Cowher if he would consider the job. The ONLY concern I have is is absence from the NFL for a few years. If he really wants to get back, I don't think he should be waiting around much longer.
  8. I can't believe some are pimping him so hard. Coach (and team) killer for sure. Talented though, when isn't isn't making mistakes.
  9. The Bills D got better when Schwartz came to Buffalo, too. Remember he wasn't DC in Detroit. I don't care if a guy is strong on the offensive side, or defensive side, head coach is responsible for the entirety of the team. That's why some of these "hot" coordinators or college guys scare me. Schwartz wouldn't be my first, or second, or third pick either. But I might take him as an option if it guaranteed keeping the defense relatively intact. I'm definately against bringing in a DC with a "system" that doesn't' fit the talent on this team.
  10. Well, if all of the other better prospects don't pan out. I guess they could keep Adam as an option---just in Gase. I kill me.
  11. HEY, this is TSW, we have our own laws.
  12. Again he played well---except for when he got sloppy. That happens to often with him. I hate when posters play amateur psychologist, so I will kind of refrain. But given his bizarre off the field issues, and some of his strange horrible plays, I have to wonder if he has some sort of disorder, where he loses focus (for lack of a better word given the amount I've had to drink today) for short periods of time. Yes, I realized how silly that was as I was typing it. But still.....
  13. Agreed. But if that means changing DCs, you might get one with a philosophy that doesn't' fit the players the Bills have. I am very worried about that possibility.
  14. Understood. And I'd welcome that change.
  15. Well, as we are probably looking at a complete revamp of the guards, and the tackles are pretty much prototype sized, this doesn't worry me all that much. What does worry me is changing DCs and having to change those bodies to fit a scheme.
  16. Well today, anyway--maybe.
  17. Yes, the board is running better "this today". Thank you, Fearless Leader.
  18. Seems that way, doesn't it?
  19. Completely agree. Unless there is a particular top-level DC in Kubiak's pocket, I'd make sure the combo will work. I don't hate the Kubiak idea, but he isn't my top, or even second, choice. But the Bills could do worse.
  20. And read every Kellyto83 post from when he started on TSW!
  21. Winston looks good, when he looks good. But again tonight, he makes sloppy/lazy plays. Too many for my tastes, given his talent. Mariota makes very few. FSU may come back and win this game (doubtful, but possible, lots of time left). Not sure if either of these guys is a sure thing at the pro level.
  22. Just a suggestion. Next time spare us the "announcements". Just do what you need to do.
  23. That is the only real concern I have with Bill C.
  24. You can pretty much say that about most HCs. Cowher was pretty successful with O'Donnell and Stewart. His record at the 'Burgh was 149-90. He won't be the GM. So I say: I'm All In With The Chin!
  25. Hats off to you, BackInDaDay. Very well done. My question is who is going to get the picnic basket?
