  1. You seem pretty positive about Brady* playing. Just sayin'.
  2. Bugs me a little, to be honest. But not enough to start a slander campaign against the GM. Truthfully, shouldn't marketing expert Kim Pegula have suggested they wait til Tuesday to announce it and put something together?
  3. Not sure how rare I am. http://www.metacritic.com/movie/event-horizon
  4. So, I assume now that we know Whaley informed the Pegulas BEFORE cutting Jackson, this is all put to bed now. That the "marketing and business units" were not consulted, which of course, there is no reason for the GM to do. Right? negativo has apologized for his campaign of nonsense, and we're all moving forward. Do I have that right?
  5. I'm pretty sure I have seen Event Horizon at least twice. I know I watched the second time because I didn't remember seeing it the first time---but recalled some of it while re-watching it. With that said, it still left no impression on me. I barely recall seeing it. No nightmares, no uncomfortableness.
  6. The first two rules of Fight Club always bothered me. If you REALLY were that adamant about not talking about it, you wouldn't mention it TWICE in the first two rules. Should be more like: 1. You do not talk about this thing of ours. At least that's how my people did it. Anyway, what are the chances these people got their idea from Cartman?
  7. That's why you can't just look at these numbers to draw conclusions.
  8. I agree it's hard to fathom Whaley making the move without input from Rex. And if Rex was informed, how is it going rogue? But is is Whaley's call to make as GM. Many people here said one strong football guy has to make the calls, and be in charge. They don't think the consensus style works. While I disagree to a point, it's hard to argue Whaley isn't a strong football guy. Finally, for tonight anyway, the assertion Whaley cut Fred was because he traded for Brown sounds preposterous to me. That Brown is on the roster (along with the other backs there) made the cut possible. But if you think, had Brown come to the team in another fashion (other than trade, or huge FA signing) Jackon's position would have been safe---well, I think you need to get the foil cap. I recommend Zapoti: http://zapatopi.net/afdb/
  9. Of course I am concerned about Miller, and you should be, too. We haven't seen him against the best, motivated, stunting defensive lines. He hasn't had to respond to making 2-3 bad plays in a row--always something I like to see from any player. While a big mistake from him doesn't likely end in a touchdown, it could end up in losing your starting QB. How could you not be a little concerned? And while I'm concerned about Darby, I don't expect Rex to put him on the outside, on an island, very often in this game. Worry is interest paid on a debt not yet due.
  10. Pork seeds? I'm surprised nobody has said a rooster and a hen (or two). Chicken and eggs!
  11. Sorry. BADO, you lost me on that bolded sentence. But I think I get the point of your post. Since it IS the first game of the year, and not a championship matchup, or even one that occurs late in the season, so I think you wasted a bunch of typing there. And "No", clearly I don't think the Bills' season hangs in the balance of the first game. But I'm not sure why you are focused on that game, in particular. The original post didn't seem specific to the first game. But, yes Darby could be abused by Luck---that's true of ANY rookie DB. Actually, it's true of any DB, period. So my original post remains: Concerned, but not yet worried.
  12. Indeed. But he didn't couch it with any disclaimers---said it was going to happen, and it did. I know Scheffter (sp?) had it earlier, but did use some disclaimers, so I can see not giving him the nod. Just saying, if we only give credit to a guy who already well known, lesser known/unknown people, our there, working hard to get scoops, don't get the credit. Honestly, I think it's only really valuable to say "I was first with the news" if you are lesser known/unknown. Glazer doesn't need that anymore.
  13. What do I know? So was eball being serious, or sarcastic in his response to my post?
  14. I've just confirmed the post above. Mitch Courtney has it hours earlier. I don't know how to link to a single tweetL But you can see it for yourself here: https://twitter.com/mitch_courtney1
  15. Does your cousin have a brother, Phil? Nice piece.
  16. Not sure why everyone is giving Glazer the nod as the guy who broke the story. Several people tweeted it earlier, if I remember correctly. But Glazer is the bigger name, and his tweet was the one later cited in the frenzy immediately following.
  17. "Concerned" is a bit different than "worried" in this situation, IMO. So, yes, I'm concerned about Darby. I'm concerned about every player, especially the younger guys who have yet to play/limited experience in the NFL. Worried? Not particularly, at this time.
  18. M Night Shyamalamadingdong?
  19. And, it should be noted, WEO misses his mark more often, these days. Most, like the one in this thread, are wildly off the mark. Did Ryan's alarm finally wake him up?
  20. Not sure why anyone is really worried about the Pats* signing Cassel. I doubt he'd start over Garappolo and then Marcia comes back. I'm not sure "picking his brain" is worth the asking price for NE*. I'll just drop this thought here, as it has no other real place. It was gratifying to see EJ respond to not getting the starting gig the way he has---and the way I expected him to: Professional and Hopeful. It's odd to think many wanted the Bills to get Ryan Mallet--who still has done nothing in the NFL and looks to be, in most ways, worse than EJ. Mallet responded to being passed over for the #2 slot by complaining publicly, then "oversleeping" and missing practice the next day. I'd be mighty mad if that QB was still on a team I rooted for.
  21. Welk and Weed. Now that's what I'm talkin' 'bout.
  22. Less fun in some ways, more fun in others. I mean Evil Dead has Bruce Campbell, so it's hard to argue Brain Damage has a more compelling cast. But Brain Damage is a far more "intelligent" film---and far more a B movie. More an addiction movie than a demon/monster movie.
  23. Hard to beat these guys.
