  1. I watched a few episodes because it was the kind of show I should like. But I found the writing boring and the acting stilted. Really wanted to like it. Didn't.
  2. Every year the weather for that game gets worse.
  3. That's what I suspected. But then why is he continually referred to as "Pinto Ron" to this day. If it was just a mistake, a correction should have been issued and that's that---no?
  4. I remember there was a big story about him, years ago, where they referred to Kenny as "Pinto Ron". It seems to have stuck. Or maybe it was a nickname before that article was written. There are some here who know him well. Perhaps they will fill us in.
  5. I could never understand why Kenny is always referred to as "Pinto Ron". OK, I get the Pinto part. Is it only because he was mis-named a long time ago in an article, or is there more to the story?
  6. If the Bills win 4 Superbowls (sic) in ONE season, Rex should retire. I mean, c'mon. Winning 4 Super Bowls in one season is an accomplishment that is hard to top.
  7. Indeed. When in WNY they are simply wings. When elsewhere in the country it is probably wise to call them Buffalo wings, so as not to get some other preparation of wings. After all, there are many ways to cook chicken wings. The worst is when they are called Buffalo Wings on a menu then come out breaded, or in some sauce that bears no resemblance to the traditional Buffalo-style sauce.
  8. I believe he was indeed fired. At least officially. It is possible he was unhappy and asked to be fired (so he could still be paid) but this is the first I'm hearing of it.
  9. It's hard to believe this isn't being discussed somewhere else on the board.
  10. In some ways this goes hand-in-hand with the inexperience of the guy straight from college. He thinks he can do EVERYTHING better than guys who have been doing it for years. That isn't to say some guys with NFL experience don't make that same mistake.
  11. Anyone stupid enough to tattoo their face (and then commit crimes) is stupid enough to do anything, IMO.
  12. Might want to go with "might have" for something that you can't possibly know.
  13. Duff's offers ranch? That must be something new. No self respecting wing joint would even think of serving ranch dressing with wings. When I'm asked down here if I want blue cheese or ranch, I get very indignant. Ranch? It's essentially mayo, for Christ's sake. I will (reluctantly) forgive Tyrod since he didn't grow up in the area, and had already been corrupted by sub-standard wings served with ridiculous sauces. The dressing is for the celery (and/or carrots) NOT the wings, IMO. I know some dip their wings, but they are freaks who can't handle the heat.
  14. Kelly is exhibiting the behavior of a coach who spent ZERO time in the NFL before becoming the top guy. He simply doesn't seem to respect or appreciate talent--he think's it is all about him. It is my major concern with hiring head coaches straight out of college, when they have no NFL experience. Dealing with MEN, who make a lot of money, instead of boys who you have for 2-3 years is a big difference. At least if he was an OC in the NFL for a short time, he would get acclimated. And if Irsay had half a sober brain he'd fire the GM and make Pagano happy. But he's likely to fire Chuck---and eventually Grigson, too.
  15. And that he is playing for Seattle--2nd smuggest team in the league. Amen to that.
  16. I find it hard to believe Cam just made this up. OTOH, I'd also like to believe Hochuli is being upfront--and as many have pointed out, in the video it looks as though he is saying what he claims to have said. Of course he might have said something before, or after, what the video shows. But I'm thinking it just might have been what Cam heard. Perhaps when Hochuli said "the difference is you were running" Cam heard, "the difference is you are young", or something like that. There is a lot of noise and confusion on the field--I can certainly imagine something like that happening. After the game, Cam says "he said I wasn't old enough to get the call"--a reasonable extrapolation of what he heard. Anyway, just food for thought. But I tell you what. If someone comes up with a video that clearly shows Hochuli saying what Cam thought he heard, Hochuli should be fired on the spot. Not just for the call, but for the lying/cover-up.
  17. With Marshawn out, isn't it interesting Freddie only got two carries and two receptions? If this is being discussed somewhere else, I apologize. I didn't see it and couldn't find it. Please move it to the appropriate thread. This isn't an "I told you so" post, as I was quite upset when Fred was dealt. But unlike a few here, I understood it and got over it. Fred is clearly reaching the end of a great career. Too bad he didn't get to finish it in Buffalo. This isn't to say Fred may not contribute in meaningful ways for Seattle. But when they needed someone to step up and fill in for Marshawn, who did they look to? Not the aging Jackson, but rather a relatively unknown rookie (Relatively? Who the hell ever heard of Thomas Rawls?). Anyway, hopefully some here will lay off the lambasting of Whaley for this move, and refrain from pointing out, every time a Bills' back makes a less-than-ideal play, that it's all Whaley's fault for trading Fred.
  18. Is the victim pressing charges? Can that ass testify if it goes to trial?
  19. Excellent recap, as usual, Bill. Darby played an exceptional game. I think you can see why I was not "worried" about his play based on the preseason when Rex purposefully gave him a baptism by fire. But make no mistake, when Leodis returns, he will step back into the lineup (when he becomes game ready). It will only make the defensive backfield even stronger. Boobie is what he is. I still think he has value as a short yardage back, but he really isn't an every down back, IMO. William Karlos Williams is a monster. Will only get better, IMO.
  20. In the words of the great Chico Escuela, "...Baseball been berry, berry good to Pete Rose. Three-point-two-million-dollar para Pete Rose. Charlie Hustle, you bet. Thank you berry, berry much."
  21. It's a bet you can never lose, without some sort of date attached.
  22. This POS does this every few years to, well I don't know what: pump up his autograph prices, perhaps? He made a deal with Bart Giamatti to accept a lifelong ban from the HOF (and the result was the entire story of his gambling infractions be kept private, as if it was made public would be terrible for Pete and MLB, IMO). http://www.baseball-almanac.com/players/p_rosea.shtml I tell you what, I have no problem with them lifting the ban on Petey---but also releasing ALL the information they had from their investigation. To me, what McGwire and Bonds did is nothing compared to what Rose did, as far as corrupting the game. This POS was a manager, for Pete's sake. (See what I did there>)
  23. If the ads from Fan Duel are to be believed, there is no skill involved, at all. If these leagues weren't protected by political (and powerful) investors, I'd suggest they are shooting themselves in the foot with this latest campaign.
