Anyone but Trump in 2020. The primary that led to Biden being the nominee was more wishful thinking. I can't imagine inflation if Bernie had won. Hindsight Hillary would have been the safer choice. That's why I wrote in John Kasich a bipartisan moderate.

Former Leader of Japan Shinzo Abe Shot
ALF replied to ChiGoose's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Japan has almost completely eliminated gun deaths — here's how Japan is a country of more than 127 million people, but it rarely sees more than 10 gun deaths a year. Culture is one reason for the low rate, but gun control is a major one, too. Japan has a long list of tests that applicants must pass before gaining access to a small pool of guns. https://www.businessinsider.com/gun-control-how-japan-has-almost-completely-eliminated-gun-deaths-2017-10 -

The safe bet might be Hillary with Bill as mentor, Michelle with Barack as mentor . Republicans have a number of valid candidates . Unless the economy can somehow turn around republicans will have a easy time in 22 and 24 .

Oil tumbles as much as 10%, breaks below $100 as recession fears mount Citi said Tuesday that Brent could fall to $65 by the end of this year should the economy tip into a recession. Citi has been one of the few oil bears at a time when other firms, such as Goldman Sachs, have called for oil to hit $140 or more. https://www.cnbc.com/2022/07/05/oil-tumbles-more-than-8percent-breaks-below-100-as-recession-fears-mount.html -
Climate change: 'Sand battery' could solve green energy's big problem Using low-grade sand, the device is charged up with heat made from cheap electricity from solar or wind. The sand stores the heat at around 500C, which can then warm homes in winter when energy is more expensive. The toughest question is about intermittency - how do you keep the lights on when the sun doesn't shine and the wind doesn't blow? The most obvious answer to these problems is large scale batteries which can store and balance energy demands as the grid becomes greener. Right now, most batteries are made with lithium and are expensive with a large, physical footprint, and can only cope with a limited amount of excess power. But in the town of Kankaanpää, a team of young Finnish engineers have completed the first commercial installation of a battery made from sand that they believe can solve the storage problem in a low-cost, low impact way. https://www.bbc.com/news/science-environment-61996520

The Liberty Bell's inscription is from the Bible (King James version): "Proclaim Liberty Throughout All the Land Unto All the Inhabitants thereof." This verse refers to the "Jubilee", or the instructions to the Israelites to return property and free slaves every 50 years.(Leviticus 25:10). I learn something new everyday

Rush toward green energy has left US 'incredibly' vulnerable to summer blackouts, expert warns Expert says renewable energy doesn't work and could lead to more blackouts "I think the entire country is incredibly vulnerable, because the entire country is facing a huge energy shortage and I don’t think there is any place that is truly safe," Daniel Turner, founder and executive director at Power the Future, told Fox News. "The areas of the country I’d be most concerned about are the ones that already have inherent weaknesses," Turner said. "Texas, California, New Mexico, New York, all of New England. These are areas whose policies and political decisions have weakened their electric grid." Critics have blamed the potential shortages on Illinois Gov. Jay Pritzker’s vow to move the state to 100% renewable energy by 2045, which has caused investment in traditional sources of energy generation to plummet. "They will choose what neighborhoods go into darkness," Turner said. "Historically, when we have done this, we have chosen poor and usually minority neighborhoods to do that." Previously planned power outages in states such as California have a history of disproportionately impacting poor neighborhoods, including one instance in 2019 where a poor, mostly Hispanic neighborhood in Sonoma County had its power cut for eight days in October. The deliberate outages not only plunged residents of the area into darkness for days, but the resulting food spoilage strained already tight budgets. https://www.foxnews.com/us/rush-green-energy-has-left-us-incredibly-vulnerable-summer-blackouts-expert-warns https://www.foxnews.com/lifestyle/ca-air-regulators-criticism-carbon-neutrality-plan

What percentage of cars are currently electric? Less than 1% of the 250 million cars, SUVs and light-duty trucks on the road in the United States are electric.Feb 7, 2022 https://graphics.reuters.com/AUTOS-ELECTRIC/USA/mopanyqxwva/ Level 1: These are the standard electronic vehicle charging infrastructure with 120-volt single-phase AC of up to 16 amps. They are, however, limited to 12 amps and can deliver up to 1.9-kilowatt (kW) charge rate or about 5 miles of range per hour of charging. Level 2: These types require a unit of 240 volts, and they allow for a wide range of charging speeds. With up to 80 amps power rating, they can deliver up to a 19.2-kilowatt charge rate or up to 60 miles of range per hour of charging time. This makes it one of the most suitable charging stations for most electronic vehicles. Level 2 EV chargers require exclusive charging equipment and a dedicated electrical circuit of 20 to 100 amps. https://blog.carvana.com/2021/07/how-much-does-it-cost-to-install-an-ev-charger/

2022 USFL Championship, Stars vs Stallions, Fox 7:30p ET
ALF replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall
Canton stadium capacity 23,000 , all their revenue must be TV So it's Birmingham vs Philly The Birmingham Stallions are looking to cap off their first season in the new USFL with a championship. The de facto home team for the regular season went 9-1 in 10 appearances before winning their first playoff game against the New Orleans Breakers. Winning the championship won't prove easy. Birmingham is playing the Philadelphia Stars in the final. While the Stars aren't as talented as the Stallions, they have a top-tier passing game and enough pass-rushing talent to give Birmingham some problems. https://www.sportingnews.com/us/nfl/news/usfl-championship-game-2022-time-channel-live-stream/nuds3qecwgjth4a3yo1r8esn
