Coronavirus: Japan doctors warn of health system 'break down' as cases surge Doctors in Japan have warned that the country's medical system could collapse amid a wave of new coronavirus cases. Emergency rooms have been unable to treat some patients with serious health conditions due to the extra burden caused by the virus, officials say. One ambulance carrying a patient with coronavirus symptoms was turned away by 80 hospitals before he could be seen. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-52336388

The damage China has done to the world is catastrophic . The very least they could have done is not charge for PPE , ventilators and related meds.
-
The small hospital where I live have 60 on lay off , dentist emergencies only. When this started it was to save PPE for metro NYC Once they have enough stock and low volume covid they should restart.
-
The main thing is not to overwhelm the hospitals in a hot spot.

If that is the best he can do with Winston maybe a 6th rd for a one year trial.

If China wanted to harm the world it would make more sense to release it far from China. The one theory was someone from the lab there sold test animals to that market. -
David Carr Criticizes Winston’s workout

Jameis Winston undergoes LASIK eye surgery Few operations could fit Winston better. Just months after he became the first quarterback to throw 30 touchdowns and 30 interceptions, Winston had his eyesight fixed. Likely gone are the photos of Winston squinting on the sideline, which often became memes. Perhaps the interceptions won't be as frequent, too. There's no telling how much such an operation might help the nearsighted Winston. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000001101946/article/jameis-winston-undergoes-lasik-eye-surgery Some team could get lucky with him at a reasonable price. -

At the Wal Mart here electronics , garden and the auto service are closed so those workers can stock shelves , keep disinfecting . Maybe they have some workers out sick or small kids at home due to schools closed. (I'm in Lockport,NY) My wife is the gardener and gets all her seeds online every year.

Representatives from On Fire Christian Church said they have been hosting drive-in services in the church parking lot for weeks and wanted to host one on Sunday for Easter. On Fire Christian Church representatives said all cars are parked 6 feet apart, and church members stay in their vehicles during services. https://www.wdrb.com/news/louisville-church-to-sue-mayor-greg-fischer-for-not-allowing-drive-in-services-during-pandemic/article_556a9592-7b79-11ea-bf34-77d40680c1a6.html I watch Mass from my church online Sundays . Trump said he would do the same Easter watching a service from Dallas. It's safe and comfortable for a short time of the closings not permanent.

CDC estimates that influenza has resulted in between 9 million – 45 million illnesses, between 140,000 – 810,000 hospitalizations and between 12,000 – 61,000 deaths annually since 2010. https://www.cdc.gov/flu/about/burden/index.html Despite the large amount of knowledge that has been gained about SARS-CoV following the outbreak, there are still no vaccines or antivirals approved for preventing or treating SARS-CoV infections. Struck 2003 At this time, there is no vaccine or specific treatment for MERS. Struck 2013-14 https://www.bcm.edu/departments/molecular-virology-and-microbiology/emerging-infections-and-biodefense/sars-virus Not sure if the Sars and Mers still has no vaccine

Hot spots need to stay closed beyond May 1 , especially metro NYC. It could be up to governors in less hit areas after May 1 , they will get credit or the blame if it goes bad. -
I would guess not enough testing for those recovering at home.
-
This virus has less fatalities then a bad flu season , but a hotspot like NYC is a real disaster. It's hard to predict what could happen in other areas if no semi lockdown there. I can't remember another PPE shortage like now.

No one should trust China . Have the CDC and WHO go there to verify. I know WHO lost credibility also , now they have to rebuild their trust if they want funding. -

China's Wuhan to keep testing residents as coronavirus lockdown eases WUHAN, China (Reuters) - China’s Wuhan city, where the global coronavirus pandemic began, is still testing residents regularly despite relaxing its tough two-month lockdown, with the country wary of a rebound in cases even as it sets its sights on normalising the economy. “We carry out comprehensive health checks everyday and keep detailed records of their health condition,” she said, adding that there is no likelihood of asymptomatic cases in her community. “Currently our neighbourhood is an epidemic-free community - it’s been 45 days so far, so we don’t have this situation,” she said. https://www.reuters.com/article/us-health-coronavirus-china/chinas-wuhan-to-keep-testing-residents-as-coronavirus-lockdown-eases-idUSKCN21S0FV This will be the place to keep a eye on
