. . . of the Houston Texans? According to the NFL Network, Dan Reeves is rumored to be recommending that that the Texans hire Wade as HC. Apparently, Wade is going to get another "sniff" at being a HC. Good for Wade. I hope he gets the chance.

This JP injury smacks of a HC who is fighting

I hate to say it, but there really is not much to be gained by winning. I would love to see the team play well, but lose in close but uplifting games. Whatever that means. I would much rather have the better draft choice at this point. -
I really doubt that he quit on this team. The jury is still out on his ability to play in the NFL. Yet, I think I know enough about the kid to say that he would not quit. I would be very, very surprised.

I think that they should start one of the defensive linemen at QB. We should do whatever it takes to lose. Starting Holcomb only increases the chance of winning. I really do not understand why JP would and should not start (unless there is an injury that they are not telling us about). He needs the reps. One would think that he would want to play on national television on a Saturday night. There has to be more to the story. P.S. Did you know that JP has the third best QB rating on the team?

Ralph Wilson announced that Losman has been suspended for the game because he has not practiced and will not be ready to play.

Which Premier league team do you support? P.S. I saw England play Portugal in Euro 2000. I had the best time with the England supporters. ENGLAND!!! CLAP CLAP ENGLAND!!! CLAP CLAP

That is so true. When he started to pull that bs, that is when he lost me. He also has lost the team. They and everyone else can see through that bs. -

You are absolutely right. Actually, I think that you may be on to something. It might get rid of 99% of the whingers on this board. Better yet, maybe we can convince Jerry Sullivan to work out with WM. Now, that would be a sight . . . . -
Thanks Nick. I am glad that you had such a great time.

Good for him. I am happy that he has a chance with a team that knows what they are doing.

Van Miller Interviewed on Denver Radio
Peter replied to BenchBledsoe's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The sad thing is that they should have started rebuilding the line many years ago. -
I totally agree with you. Parcells would have our team competing for a playoff spot. He also would not have made some of the personnel blunders that TD has.

I am not as impressed yet with JP as many of you. Yet, it is so difficult to tell just how good he is or may be given the line and and the horrendous play in general. With any luck, we will know more during these next three games. He has thrown some good passes and some horrible ones. At this point, I am willing to reserve judgment. We may as well see it through unless someone spectacular becomes available and is right for the team. At this point, I seriously doubt we could get even close to our investment in return for him. He seems like a hard worker and a likeable guy. I wish I knew more about what he could do with some adequate protection and the smash mouth running attack that we were promised. Upgrading the line would really help out both him and Willis. The jury is still out. -
The Cowboys and their fans must be happy to have a coach who actually knows what he is doing.

Yep.

I would love to have Wade back. I know that is an unpopular opinion on this board, but so be it. His win-loss record speaks for itself. Yet, given his relationship with Ralph, I doubt it would ever happen.

Does anyone here actually REMEMBER Marv Levy?

I saw Jerry Seinfeld last Spring. He said that they should change the name of Starbucks to "Four Bucks." -
Does anyone here actually REMEMBER Marv Levy?
Peter replied to SDS's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Who is this Marv Levy of whom you speak? Seriously, Marv was a good coach. Ask his former players what they think of him. Ask the Hall of Fame voters what they think of him. Polian certainly was responsible for stocking that team with talent. Yet, Marv helped get them to play at the level at which they played. Talent and coaching go hand and hand. Do you think Mike Mularkey would have had the same success with that team. He would have called out Bruce for freelancing. He would have called out Thurman for not hitting holes when there were none. He would have tried to suspend Andre for bickering. He would have lost the team. Marv also emphasized special teams. We won a lot of games because of special teams contributions. As for assistant coaches, he hired Ted Marchibroda who basically invented the K gun. He hired Wade Philips who was a great defensive coordinator for the Bills (as well as HC although I know you disagree). Could Marv have done it without the talent. No. You need the players. Yet, I dare say both the players and Polian would say they could not have done without Marv. Is Marv the answer now? I have no idea whether the game has passed him by. I do know that I would take him any day of the week over MM. -
I knew we could agree on some things.

Where are all the Bledsoe bashers today?
Peter replied to Peter's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Linking the Cowboy board is not only jingoistic it is pretty tired and unoriginal. Again, you missed my point. First, the reference to the Bills doing something "unintentionally" was that they did DB a favor by letting him go somewhere else given that the Bills have not adequately addressed the offensive line. It also does not hurt one bit that the Cowboys actually have a professional HC. By contrast, the Bills have not done JP, Willis, the team, or the fans any favors by not adequately addressing the line. It would be difficult for any QB [insert any name you want] or RB [insert any name you want] to reach their potential and succeed behind this piss poor line. The Bills and many of you wanted to deflect the problems with the line on DB. His play and our play this year show the fallacy of that position. Again, we better do something about our offensive line. Otherwise, it will not make any difference whatsoever who our QB and RB are because we will be setting them and the team up for failure. -
Now I understand. This is merely an anti-Hurricane post. That is your real motivation. Perhaps you can talk about this with Jim Kelly.

Peter replied to Peter's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I already posted on Pat Williams buddy. It is obvious that you completely miss the point. The most important decision that the Bills made in the off season was to get rid of DB, hand the keys to the offense to someone who is not ready, and not adequately address the offensive line, which has caused the demise of many a QB since Jim Kelly left. Whoever our QB was, is, or will be will not be in a position to succeed until we adequately address the offensive line. The Bills unintentionally did DB a favor by not making him play behind the horrid line that they have assembled. Your post is kind of like politicians cynically questioning the patriotism of other politicians. I am ready to compare my Buffalo Bill "credentials" any time you want. By the way, have you linked the Cowboy board when the DB haters have started topics about DB? I thought not. -
Thurman was one of the best pass blocking RBs in the NFL period. Very few even compare to him. A better and more recent comparison would be TH who was famous for his look out blocks. The point I was making was that a guy who did not care would not risk getting injured.
-
This is absolutely ridiculous. The guy is not an ass. Let me repeat: He overcame what may have been a career ending injury. In doing so, he showed more heart than one can imagine. He has been playing behind a piss poor offensive line his entire NFL career. First contact is typically BEHIND the line of scrimmage. Notwithstanding all of that, he is the fastest Buffalo Bill RB to reach 2,000 yards in his career. If he really did not care, why would he stick his head in there on the block the way he did. He had 8 friggen carries yesterday. That is not enough for any running back -- especially when our supposed offensive scheme is smash mouth football. It is amazing how people on this board want to trash WM. It obviously has nothing to do with what is happening on the field.
