Ask the Dolphins who they think our number one receiver is? Better yet, to whom did they roll their coverage? Hint: He wears number 80.

Yes. And guess what? We will learn yet again what these players meant to this team. Moreover, the same guys who are calling for the Bills to get rid of them will then call these guys traitors. The Bills are a better team with EM and NC than they would be without them.

Two Reasons Why We Should Sign Nate C.
Peter replied to BenchBledsoe's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It is amazing that so many people on this board are calling for the Bills to get rid of our best WR and best CB. There is no question that the smart thing to do is try to sign both of them at a reasonable market contract. -
Question for those who heard the post game

Excellent observation. -
Because that is the technique that the coaches are calling for on that particular play. Come on. You know that.

Thank you for bringing some sanity to this board.

For some reason, there are people on this board who want to hang Eric Moulds in effigy. I suspect that it has something to do with him (reportedly) believing the obvious earlier in the season (JP was not ready). EM has been a great player for the Bills. He signed a reasonable contract with the Bills to stay a Buffalo Bill when he could have left when Wiley left. Yet, he wanted to stay with the team. He said that he wanted to finish his career with the Bills. In any event, because of him, the other receivers have done better than they would have otherwise (read "not so Peerless Price"). The same was true yesterday. According to the paper, whenever he was in the game, the Dolphins concentrated on defending him by rolling coverage toward him. That opened things up for Lee Evans and others. Get a grip guys. This is no time trash one of the better players to play with the Bills. It is obvious that he would like to end his career with the Bills (at least before this past week). Now we have management playing games with the media regarding him. Unlike management, he took the high road after the game and said he did not want to make any comments and be a distraction to the team. Everyone knows that he is not going to make the money that is stipulated in his contract for next year. He will take a market contract with the Bills or be with some other team. This fratricide has got to stop.

This thread is inane. Willis said in the Miami paper that the win was more important to him than getting 1,000 yards. Willis also said that he was going to continue to play for pride (even though we are not going to the playoffs). Stop the Willis bashing. The guy showed his heart when he came back from that devastating knee injury. As I said in another post, there are people on this board who seem to not like him for non-football related reasons. The guy is the fastest Buffalo Bills RB to reach 2,000 yards in his career. We have had some great RBs. Moreover, Willis has done it with a terrible offensive line. What percentage of the time is first contact made BEHIND the line of scrimmage? Stop the insanity.

For those of you who are saying he has not shown you anything, Roscoe has: 1. The third best kick return average in the NFL; 2. The third best punt return average in the NFL. For those of you have never returned a kick, let me tell you that it is one of the toughest things to do in football. Not only do you have to be quick, you also have to be tough. Let's stop trashing the guy. His career is just getting started.

Nice finish. At least we did not see history repeat itself in one day. -

Good post. Clements does have a ton of talent. I would want him back at the right price. Every corner gets burned. That is just the way it is. He has had a productive career with the Bills. -
Best available is much better than reaching.
-
He is tanned, rested, and ready.

JP has shown some flashes -- in this and other games. Yet, let's not get too carried away with blaming the coaching staff for a piss poor throw. If you watched JP on the sideline after the pick, he did not like it was anyone else's fault. At least he is man enough to know that. I give him more credit for his reaction than I do to posters who are trying to excuse the bad pass. With any luck, he will learn from that mistake. When the games have meaning again (read next season), he will not make the same mistake. The fact of the matter is that an NFL QB has complete that pass to an open wr for a td.

I think that Roscoe was a great value pick. We shall see whether I am right about him. So far, for the brief time that he has been back from his injury while still playing with a cast, he has shown enough for me to have hope for him. As the other poster demonstrated, there were no quick fixes at the o-line when we picked Roscoe. Don't blame Roscoe for that.
-
Are we even sure that he took himself out of the game for that reason? I agree with that aspect of your post if he did. I just don't blame him for being pissed about the article if in fact he is pissed about the article.
-
He did not seem to play as well after the apparent injury. At this point, we really have no choice but to keep him in there to see what we have got. The season is (and has been over). Let's find out whether he is the QB of the future that some believe he is. I am not sure whether he is or is not. It is so difficult to tell because he is playing behind a substandard o-line (as have every QB before him since Jim Kelly).
-
I actually don't blame Moulds for being pissed if the Bills are leaking stories to signal his departure. The guy has been loyal to the Bills. I know there are a lot of people on this board who have gone out of their way to be critical of him (after he apparently stated the obvious earlier in the season), yet, at the right price, I would not hesitate to have him back on this team next year.

Great post. Thank you for bringing some intelligence to this board.

Question for those who heard the post game
Peter replied to Peter's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Thanks. -
Did you see what percentage of the time first contact was behind the line of scrimmage? This is nothing unusual given the line that he has to run behind. Give the guy a break. I heard that he is the fastest Buffalo Bill running back to reach 2,000 yards. We have had some darn good rbs. Willis happens to be one of him. For some reason there seems to be a group of guys on this board who are intent on criticizing him because they just don't like him for some non football related reason.

The whole stadium knew that they were going to throw to Chambers. I presume the Bills did as well. Was there any reason given for why we did not have one of our starting corners covering Chambers? Better yet, was there any reason given for not double covering him? Also, it seemed that we were blitzing more when Ferotte was in. It seemed as though we sat back more when Rosenfels was in there. Was there any reason given for that? Once we gave them time to throw, we saw what happened.
