  1. Your information is incorrect. Reddick was suspended indefinitely and only returned recently. [How many games did the Bills suspend Whitner?] Further, if you really knew about Coker, you would know that he even suspended the starting RB for missing study hall. Ryan Moore (the Canes best receiver was suspended for the bowl game last year and most of this season). How many LSU players were suspended for swinging helmets at Canes players' heads after the Peach Bowl last year (even though at least one player had to go to the hospital)?
  2. If you do not think that he is a classy guy, watch the clip of his press conference on ESPN.com. By the way, one of the guys he hired was Rich Olson who was a UM offensive coordinator when the Canes won one of their national championships in the early 90's. As for recruiting, one thing that Coker did was save the recruiting class when Davis left the Canes in a lurch about a week before national signing day. That is one reason Davis had no chance of being re-hired. It is true that we lost some recruits that we should have had the past couple of years, and I disagree with the firing of Art Kehoe last year. Nevertheless, if Coker is one thing, he is a classy guy. Another thing to keep in mind is that the Canes/Coker lost several players to the NFL. It is tough to rebound when many of your stars leave early for the NFL.
  3. In keeping with the Christmas theme - Do They Know it's Christmas? - Band Aid
  4. Playbook was one of the best shows that they had. One would think that is the kind of show that the NFL Network was made for.
  5. I have mixed emotions about this. Coker is a classy guy and deserves a better fate. On the other hand, I am sure it has been tough for his family with all of the abuse he has taken.
  6. Me too. I thought the Penguins had turned the corner when I read the title of the initial post.
  7. RJ's. It was in the Buffalo News when the Bills acquired him.
  8. Let the free market work. I was watching a C-Span interview of Milton and Rose Friedman this past weekend. Milton said that he always asked proponents of raising the minimum wage - why raise it to $7 or $8 or whatever dollars an hour? Why are you being so stingy? Why not raise it to $20 or $100 an hour?
  9. I totally disagree with instituting the draft for many of the reasons that have been mentioned. Yet, I understand the point that Rangel is trying to make. Politicians and the country as a whole would be a whole lot more sober about going to war if every person's son, father, daughter etc. were subject to being sent over to fight. Nevertheless, this thing has no chance of passing.
  10. Who else is going to the game this weekend? I am flying up for Thanksgiving and looking forward to the Bills knocking that smirk off of Del Rio's face. As another poster said in the why isn't Jax a candidate for LA, we should try to sell out all of the games -- especially a holiday weekend game like this one.
  11. I totally agree with you. I never saw a guy repeatedly get the crap kicked out of him and yet get up for more. Is this line from a Monty Python movie: "Thank you sir. May I have another?" Some of the criticism of RJ really is over done and not based on reality.
  12. For what it is worth, his mother is from Buffalo.
  13. Norwegian Wood - Beatles
  14. It is a good thing, there was not any more time to throw a check down. JP had a great game after some fairly lackluster performances. I really hope that this past game is a spring board for great things for the Bills and him.
  15. Baba O'Riley - The Who
  16. Landslide - Fleetwood Mac
  17. I Saw Her Standing There - Beatles
  18. I was curious about the following: Has Fox addressed the memo at all on O'Reilly, H&C, or any of the other shows. To me, the memo was not surprising and confirms what I already know. I personally have no problem with the fact that Fox has a particular "perspective" (I will not even call it a conservative perspective, because it seems to spend a lot of time defending and/or reciting GWB's talking points -- and I do not consider GWB to be conservative for the most part). The problem that I have is that Fox spends so much time trying to convince itself that it is "fair and balanced" and attacking other news outlets for being "biased" when the same argument can be made against Fox. I watch Fox, CNN, and the other networks, read the New York Times, the American Conservative, NR, the WSJ editorial page, the Times of London, Drudge, Huffington, watch the Daily Show, Colbert, Maher, McGlaughlin etc. The point is to be aware that they all have their own "perspectives" and be able to make up your own mind.
  19. Have you read Hayek's "The Road to Serfdom" (if I recall the name correctly). I have not, but was wondering whether you recommend it. It is supposed to be great.
  20. Misty Mountain Hop - Led Zep
  21. I became a conservative because of my father, Ronald Reagan, and Milton Friedman. Sadly, all three have now passed away. They were all great men. Milton Friedman Dies at 94
  22. The End - Doors.
