Why would they want to tour a stadium located in a city in which they do not want to play?

That was great. I forgot about that one. Was he responding to Sullivan? -

A quickie: RT vs. LT--Can Henderson Move?
Peter replied to The Big Cat's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
In case this was not posted previously, Pro Football Focus gave Seantrel the highest grade of any Bills' offensive player (and indeed any player on the Bills) in the game against Pittsburgh. -
Supposedly he took it to Trump if I recall Tim Graham's article correctly. If true, it is an absolutely ridiculous demand. If I were the one bidding $1B +/-, I would have declined - politely only because it is Jim. Without being rude, Jim and his brother bring very little to the table other than Jim being an ambassador for the club - unless of course, you are JBJ trying to create the mirage that he wants to keep the team in Buffalo. In the list of demands that were published, there was no mention of an ironclad agreeement to keep the team in Buffalo - only personal demands. I prefer to think that this was Jim's brother Dan trying to get all he could (as ridiculous as the demands are) knowing that JBJ and his group are circling down the toilet - and not Jim and certainly not Jill Kelly.

Boy that blew up in Morgan Stanley's face. Get on with it already Morgan Stanley. Just like JBJ, Morgan Stanley should save face and negotiate the final sale to the Pegulas. I really want this to be done in time for the October 8 owners meeting, the Sabres home opener on October 9th, and the Bills home game on October 12th against the Pats. I am planning Buffalo Road trip to celebrate.

Florio says Marrone will be fired after this season
Peter replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I hope not for two reasons: First, I doubt he would get fired if the team does well. I hope the team does well (especially given that we do not have a first round pick to take some of the sting away from playing as we have). Second, I would like for the Bills to have some continuity. Starting over every couple of years is so frustrating. -
A quickie: RT vs. LT--Can Henderson Move?
Peter replied to The Big Cat's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
As a Canes fan, I can confirm that Seantrel did play a lot of RT in college. I also recall that he played some guard. Presumably, both of those could be options. As an aside, I have made it a point to watch him on every single offensive play. I have only watched the first half of the Pittsburgh game so far (in addition to the previous two games). Having said that, I am very, very happy with the way that he is playing - especially as a rookie. As Marrone said, Seantrel can play in this league. I thought that he would do well if he got his head on straight. He is acclimating to the NFL far more quickly than I thought he would (or pretty much what I typically would expect of any rookie left tackle). Presuming Cordy comes back healthy and is able to play LT, the fact that Seantrel had this window to play with the first team against the other teams' first team has worked out well both for the team and Seantrel. He seized the opportunity, and we have seen that he can play. I also have to say (although it has very little to do with on field performance), I love the way that Seantrel goes out of his way to help up or pick up our running backs after they have been tackled. As a former running back, I think that is great. To me, it demonstrates how much he wants to be part of this team and the group of players we have. Just my two cents. -
I wonder if the new emphasis on illegal contact by DBs is hurting his game. He likes to be physical with receivers. To the extent he has to be less so, it may decrease his effectiveness. I am not going to give up on him yet.

The one "demand" that is shockingly missing from the list of "demands" in the report above is an ironclad agreement that the Bills stay in BUFFALO. Perhaps they did and it has not been reported. I have no idea whether any of these reports are true or recite all of the demands. I do know that I do not trust JBJ and his Toronto money people. Why would anyone in Buffalo trust "Maple Leaf" SE to keep the Bills in Buffalo. If any of this is true, I am disappointed. Whether he was approached or he approached them, I would like to think that Jim would not allow JBJ/Toronto group to use him like this. The other thing I know is that I do trust that Kim and Terry Pegula would keep the team in Buffalo for generations. For the first time in about a quarter century, I would not have to worry about the team moving. The only thing we would have to discuss is football related topics like every other team's fans rather than parsing legal documents etc. Just my two cents.

It is not plausible to me at all. The Trust and MS are on notice. Whaley: 'Nobody has called Bills about Spiller'
Peter replied to qblax16's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Context: I would hate for the Bills to trade CJ. Having said that, it should have been obvious from Whaley's statement to our crack Buffalo reporters to ask him has he made any calls. It sure was obvious to anyone commenting on this on Twitter and here. Does anyone know whether Whaley was asked this directly? The way Whaley said this (at least in print) begs for this question to be asked. It seems like he deliberately phrased it that way. Again, I will be upset if the Bills trade CJ. -
Agreed. My problem is the timing. He should have waited until after the sale and approval of someone like the Pegulas who are committed to keeping the team in Buffalo. Why fight with the NFL prematurely. There is more than enough time to work through and resolve these issues LATER.
-
I believe (someone correct me if I am wrong) that it is the Trust/Morgan Stanley that will be doing the presentation (not the other way around).

The Unpopular Opinion. RB - Fred Jackson
Peter replied to CountDorkula's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I see that this is where the CJ haters have decided to come out and play. I hate these threads. Why can't we appreciate both backs?!? CJ and Fred are both very good backs and teammates. They appreciate each other more than, it seems, "we" on this board. I am glad they are both on this team. They both have roles on this team - and fit those roles happily. Neither is a prima Donna and love playing for the Bills. As an aside, some of the criticism of CJ by the keyboard jockeys on this board is asinine. I am not going to repeat other posts, but try walking to the bathroom on a high ankle sprain much less play in the NFL with a high ankle sprain or average 4.6 yards per carry (behind a line that could included Colin freaken Brown/Doug Legursky and a below average right guard and tackle). Just my two cents. -
Bills fans are drunkest in NFL

I may have mentioned this in another post. If I recall correctly, the next scheduled owners meeting is on October 8 or 9. I do not recall if there is another one scheduled before the end of the year. If the Trust wants to complete the sale before the end of the year (there may be tax reasons for doing so), it would seem to me that the sale has to be wrapped up fairly quickly so that the owners have an opportunity to do their due diligence on the future owner in advance of the October meeting.
-
Maybe Seantrel's performance thus far and hopefully in the future (as a 7th round pick) will help us feel better about not having a first next year (in addition to what we hope to see from Sammy in the regular season).
-
This. Absolutely.
-
Seantrel played both left and right tackle as well as guard at UM. I believe he was a left tackle in high school. With Cordy back, he obviously goes back to LT (presuming continued health). Seantrel's versatility gives us many options depending on how things stack up.
-
One of the local reporters posted this could happen under certain circumstance after speaking with a tax attorney. No idea whether this is correct.

My one Bills wish is an existential wish: The Bills stay in Buffalo under strong, stable ownership committed to keeping the team in Buffalo for generations. As for the QB, those of you who are old enough probably remember that there were those who bitched and moaned about Jim Kelly.
-
I hate these repeated threads about trading CJ. There are many reasons to keep him, but I will never convince those whose agenda is to get rid of him. For those who appreciate a great teammate with dynamic game changing talent, I would keep the guy who has demonstrated he is not a prima Donna, was tough enough to average 4.6 yards on a high ankle sprain, and who just a few days ago said he is a Buffalo Bill "through and through" and "loves" the people, city, and team.
