  1. I think Kuechly is a good player, but not a top 10 pick at lb...remember that in a 4-3 look, you can win with avg or just above avg lb play. The d line is the key to the d, and then I def think secondary. Floyd would be a true number 2 on the outside, whereas a player like Sanu doesn't have the skills to win on the outside consistently enough. He's prob better suited to play a slot role, much like Colston. If they think Floyd is the real deal, then they should take him.
  2. Here is a list of top 100 from Gil Brandt...used to be a personal director for the Cowboys when they were America's Team It hasn't been updates since just after the combine, but at least it's from someone with experience evaluating talent. Gil Brandt's Top 100
  3. This is why when the so called experts cry out that a team reached for a player on draft day, we should all ignore them. We are not privy to each teams boards and because player evaluations are so subjective, who is to say one team (or one analyst) is right. It's only after a few years, in hindsight like PTR stated, that we can actually evaluate reach and value.
  4. This statement is laughable...did you even pay attention to the draft last yr?? Jake Locker?? My point is, this is a QB league, and there is no way he drops. Oh, ok...sure he will be
  5. I was thinking the exact same thing....i posted a few times that Kirkpatrick is not even the second best corner....I am with you, and wouldn't mind Gilmore, but I'm thinking Floyd might have best value for us at 10
  6. FYI...4.5 40 is good speed for guys like you and me, not for an NFL WR....Toon has trouble separating, Reif is what previous poster said (RT)....round 1 looks like Floyd IMO....maybe Zebrie Sanders OT second round
  7. So that's where all the snow went this year! It's a great addition, I'm so psyched I can't think straight.
  8. Beer just spewed out of my nose lmao!!! It's a great day!!
  9. All of the back and forth posts were great...loved reading all of them....if you listen to Wan, and remember back to his defenses, it was a great d line that made the d's....there wasn't one HOF LB'er in the bunch. There were some good players, but I think our lb's can be as good as any bunch he had in his previous stops.....agree with Reed83 on Floyd, but Kirkpatrick (or any other cb at 10) wouldn't be a great pick since there is no consensus 2 behind Claiborne
  10. WLB is Barnett's spot, and he is a great fit for it....Wanstauche's d is all about the front 4...lb's need to be good, don't need to be pro bowlers
  11. 10. Michael Floyd - WR 41. Zebrie Sanders - OT 74. Chandler Jones - DE 105. Asa Jackson - CB 124. LaDarius Green - TE 137. Devon Wylie -WR Take some fliers on picks at this point
  12. I agree that LT is a def need, but there isn't one worth taking at 10 this year...take one of the second or third tier guys and see if they can excel?..btw, Clifton was a second round pick
  13. The problem with going OT at 10 is that there will not be a guy there who is worthy of that pick. Only top ten prospect at LT is Kalil, and he will be long gone...this is why drafting for need can cause problems....just take BPA that's not a RB or OG...trust your scouts And this
  14. Then you don't select Richardson, you take next BPA or look to trade down Absolutely!!!!!!! You can get in real trouble if you draft solely on need.
  15. This may be the smartest post I have ever read on TBD...I think most of us still think of traditional LB roles when talking about a LB lining up and covering TE's. I think we can all rest assured that Morrison will never purposely be covering Gronk downfield. All the more reason to resign or find a replacement for Scott, and use him in combo with Wilson or a bigger CB to cover those TE's.
  16. .....and you can find great players at other positions later in the draft. Rare to find QB later.
  17. That's not the case at all. League revolves around QB's, just look at where Ponder, Locker, and Gabbert went last year. Teams are looking for that franchise guy and don't want to risk the chance of losing their guy. Just so happens that there are two guys that are really good and don't have any major flaws (unlike previous QB prospects). And I'm positive that if Matt Barkley had declared for this draft, the rams would not have gotten as much in return for their pick. No! What are you saying, RGIII is a far better prospect than Sanchez was. There were all kinds of question marks surrounding Sanchez. While i do agree Barkley will be a hot commodity, you can't bank on sucking enough to draft high. Again, bad mentality. And btw, you could offer colts ur entire draft and they wouldn't move from that spot.
  18. First off, that kind of thinking is a losers mentality. Just hope that a franchise QB falls in your lap!?!? If you believe the guy is going to be a franchise guy, then go get him. The NFL is a QB league now, we all see that. Second, none of the guys you mentioned came into the league with no question marks. From everything that's being said by personnel men around the league, RGIII is the real deal. Now that doesn't mean he will be a perennial pro bowler, but it was def worth the risk.
  19. Truer words have never been spoken....it will be interesting to see the approach that is taken in FA....will they be willing to overpay Mario Williams, and if the choose to do so, can they convince him to come here? Or do they go after an older player like Mathis or Abraham? What is becoming pretty clear is that Buddy and Chan don't see a sure fire pass rusher at the 10 spot in this draft class, and any of the other prospects that may be available in round 2 may not contribute right away (Curry, Chandler Jones, Mercilius).
  20. Being a fan is about rooting for your team unconditionally, so why is it so hard to believe in the optimism?? That's the beauty of sport, everyone starts 0-0
  21. You are spot on! The lack of talent that has been drafted in the first round has been the alarming part (regardless of position).
  22. Ingram is a 4-3 de...he won't be covering any te's
  23. If they found a pass rusher in FA, I wouldn't hate this....but I think I would still take Upshaw to play sslb
  24. CJ can be a much better runner than Sproles...and Gailey had no choice but to let Fitz throw 35 times because our d was so porous
  25. Really?? When was the last time a really good athlete had his career cut short by an acl...1987?? 1990? They are so successful at repairing and now even replacing acl's that it is an injury that just requires proper rehab.
