  1. Could you suggest a good chardonnay with retatta ?
  2. John D. Rockefeller and Standard Oil still controlled 84% of the industry then. It was a few years later that Teddy Roosevelt finally got around to enforcing the Sherman Antitrust Act of 1890, which eliminated monopolies and promoted free trade. Veblen also taught at the University of Chicago, a university that was well funded by Rockefeller. No friend of the oil industry ? hmmm...
  3. I watched Anderson move out a few folks yesterday but whiff on one block. I watched Chris V. get overpowered many times. Teague is just brutal. I can't think of one positive to say about him any more. He gets pushed around with ease and whiffs on so many blocks. You really think Gandy is a problem ? I must be watching a different game than most. He seems to show good form when I'm watching. Average but hardly the main problem.
  4. QB C RG- Yeah, you Chris V. DT- Both spots HC OC DC GM The fans are doing their part, selling out and cheering loud. It's a 2 way street. We stink up the middle on both Offense and Defense. Add poor coaching and a GM who grossly underestimated our talent in both the OL and DL. Circle the wagons starting this week.
  5. This may be an accurate statement.
  6. Like being suspended for 4 games ?
  7. It's a team effort. The Defense IS playing poorly, led by our glaring weakness up the middle. The DT position must be addressed during the off-season with the aquisition of TWO DT's, whether by Free Agency or the Draft. Fletcher runs well side to side but gets steamrolled on straight ahead runs. Jerry Gray is blitz happy while leaving large gaps for RB's and WR's to roam free. The Offense needs to find a spark at the QB postion, plus stick to the run more. Chris V. and Teague were brutal yesterday. The playcalling has been terrible on both sides of the ball.
  8. Chris V and Teague played terrible yesterday. So did Jermain (sp), Mike Williams replacement. The desperation move of putting in Preston was done for a reason. The Falcons were consistently shooting the middle to blast Losman, with Chris V. and Teague whiffing on blocks or picking up the wrong player. The eyes in the stands don't lie. Gandy may be average by he isn't playing bad at all. Neither is Bennie Anderson. On the D side of the ball, The DT position needs a complete overhaul. Adams is out of gas. Edwards and Bannon are swinging doors who get blown out most every play. Anderson looks like an oK backup but doesn't look like a frontline starter at present. How many runs went right up the gut without any problem gaining yards? Fletcher runs well side to side but just gets steamrolled on runs up the gut. Stop hanging on to fan favorite players and realize there are many to blame for this mess, including the poor coaching.
  9. Susan Banks is now posting on TSW.
  10. If so, that indicates the Bills plan to run the football early and often. It rained hard here this morning and more is forcasted for later. Field will be slick, which isn't good for Vicks' sore hammy. Peters can destroy the opposition on straight ahead running blocks. One of the great joys of being there live is watching him play special teams. Rolls down the field just smashing players out of the way in the classic "ball meets bowling pin" scenerio. I keep the binoculars on him and just laugh. A total freak.
  11. No skin off your back, eh Doc ?
  12. Over Helen Thomas ???? How ?
  13. Happy Birthday !
  14. She had the jambalaya and forgot her beano.
  15. http://www.mccullagh.org/image/10d-6/helen-thomas.html Helen Thomas
  16. http://www.nyelabs.com/flash.html?flashtar...et=noflash.html He is so cool.
  17. It would cost me $180 in gas to make the 2 hour round trip. It all depends what time I leave this morning.
  18. Moulds is currently struggling to get seperation from the CB. I saw it in the pre-season and through the first 2 weeks. He's been known during his career to drop dozens of easy ones. I still like the guy but his supposed top 10 days are long gone. Like KTFABD said, Dr. Z can be very nostalgic.
  19. Dwight Clark, John Stallworth and the late Don Hutson just missed his current top 10. Dr. Z = RJ
  20. The hardcore fans root for the laundry. Everyone has a favorite player or two. The rest are basically a herd of bison just passing through to graze and collect big $$. On their way, they provide some entertainment. Welcome to the cap age of transient loyalty. A two way street, wouldn't you say ?
  21. She'd make him wear a bag.
  22. Well stated. If the hole isn't there, then put your head down and pick up the available 2-3 yards. You might even break a tackle and get a big run out of it. Quit dancing around east-west, waiting for the red sea to part, ala Antowain Smith. The OL can only be blamed so much. I do sense a bit of a "tude" from this guy, even though I still support him. But if he's subconsciously trying to protect his knee at the expense of our team, then calling him out isn't blasphemy. Carnell Williams looked to be twice the player this past Sunday. He put his head down and broke more than a few tackles and hit the lime of scrimmage flying, whether the hole was there or not. The Bills made him a surprising early pick when they sensed Henry had limitations on and off the field. TD doesn't view any player as an untouchable Deity and may do the same thing if Willis doesn't show a consistent desire to go all out and doesn't stop listening to Rosenhaus talk about how much he's worth.
  23. You would think Dunn benefits from someone having to shadow a healthy Vick. Same goes for Duckett. With Schaub or a gimpy Vick under center, the D could bring the Safety up tighter. That would be great for the Bills. If Wire does play, his glaring liability is his coverage. Playing the run is a strength. Mularkey also was quoted as saying he would use both Wire and Rashad Baker as replacements if Milloy can't go.
  24. I have to agree with you. Seems the OL is the biggest worry so far, from what I've seen. No push and Brady is getting lots of pressure. I guess my cousin is more worried about the D wearing down. He did mention that but that's because of the Offense.
  25. The key to winning is how the Bills D handles the RB combo of Dunn and Duckett. If Atlanta can't run, they're in big trouble.
