  1. I saw that but didn't find it relevant. What's the point of throwing out all reference points in a discussion about draft trades? If the trade value chart is irrelevant in this given scenario then what else is there? If Gettleman refuses to be reasonable then there won't be a trade. It's that simple.
  2. I chose the Bucs because they're another team that doesn't need a quarterback. I would think adding an extra second by dropping five spots would be very appealing. If they don't want to then there's also the Colts (6) or Bears (8) or even the 49ers (9). None of those teams are looking for a quarterback early.
  3. I don't think so. Offering the Giants the #7 pick would be much more appealing than having to go all the way back to #12. Is there a different chart we should be referring to?
  4. Did you read the rest of my post? The Giants only have 5 draft picks. You don't think they'd want to add three more picks to the first three rounds by only dropping five spots?
  5. First of all, Gettleman is not going to "bend over" Beane and the Bills. Gettleman was Beane's mentor for years. They're very close. Not to mention Gettleman started his scouting career with the Buffalo Bills in the late 80's. So it's personal for Gettleman, fwiw. But not only is it personal, bending over another NFL team in a trade is simply bad for business. Otherwise, good luck ever making a deal with that team ever again. Another thing to consider: Giants only have five draft picks in 2018. There's no question that they'd love to pick up some more. And there's no immediate need to draft a quarterback in the Top 2 because they have Eli for at least a couple more years, and there will likely be a good one to develop later in the first. If Beane feels like he wants to (has to) trade up to #2, he will. My guess/plan if Beane truly wants to get to #2: Trade picks #12 and #53 (1570 points) to Bucs for pick #7 (1500 points). Maybe even have the Bucs throw in their 5th rounder (33.5 points) for good measure. Trade picks #7, #22, #56, and #96 (2736 points) to Giants for pick #2 (2600 points). This seems realistic to me. And since that is 136 points in favor of the Giants - if Gettleman is feeling extra nice he could swap 4th rounders (102 for 121). But even if he doesn't, that would leave the Bills with a healthy-enough number of draft picks (6) at the following spots: 1 (2) 3 (65) 4 (121) *5 (144) - Bucs pick 5 (166) 6 (187) Giants would go from having just five draft picks to having: 1 (7) 1 (22) 2 (34) 2 (56) 3 (66) 3 (96) 4 (102) 5 (139) Seems to me like a great deal for the Giants.
  6. He went to Nebraska. "The Harvard of Lancaster County." What's all this based on?
  7. We'll probably give him a 5-year, $40 million contract. Because culture and process and what-not.
  8. Yeah, it's not as if NFL teams use their service. Oh wait, they do.
  9. We need to greatly improve our pass rush. Hughes is our only good pass rusher. Let's trade him! #TBDLogic
  10. Good. Dime a dozen talent who doesn't have his teammates' back. Don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out, Brown.
  11. All of those guys were available when free agency started. Bowman and Toomer still are. Keep in mind, I'm addressing the absurdity that is the "We overpaid for a guy because we have to spend the money SOMEWHERE" mantra. As if this team has bottomless cap space and are without massive holes on the roster and there aren't good players available to fill them.
  12. So you're saying NaVorro Bowman, Avery Williamson and Korey Toomer aren't better than Tanner Valejo? Tahir Whitehead and Anthony Hitchens aren't better than Deon Lacey? Yikes.
  13. "You've gotta spend the money SOMEWHERE" is the dumbest excuse for overpaying a player. Good Lord. This team still needs two starting linebackers, a right side of the offensive line, and at least one starting wide receiver with speed. How about we save a little on a bad defensive lineman and spend that money on one or more of those positions instead?
  14. With that contract, Lotulelei better be dominant on many Sundays. Otherwise, it's a fireable offense if this team doesn't win over the next three years. At first glance, that is an embarrassing contract for a guy who has been bad the last two seasons.
  15. Nope. McCarron is our franchise quarterback for the next ten years.
  16. Let the Peterman vs. McCarron competition begin!!
  17. Does Mayfield drop to 11? Dolphins don't have nearly as much capital to use to move up as Buffalo does.
  18. Beane has stated that they're not looking for the best fit for Daboll's offense.
  19. Yeah...I'm gonna go ahead and assume they're not going to be screwed. At all. Even if Belichick and the entire front office spend the whole offseason flickin boogers.
  20. No, I said you don't give guys who are named "space eater" because they can't make plays five-year contracts. Star has been bad against the run the last two seasons. Maybe McDermott can revitalize his career.
  21. Just because a guy takes up a lot of space doesn't make him a "space eater." It's a term people like to use when they can't explain why a fat guy can't make plays because he gets dominated at the line of scrimmage.
  22. Vince Wilfork is (was) elite. Lutulelei has never even made the Pro Bowl. Which is really hard to do when you're a Top 15 draft pick. To even compare him to Wilfork is laughable.
