  1. That shouldn't surprise anyone. How many every-day people love their jobs? They do it for the money. Professional football player isn't any different in this regard. It's a very difficult job and few people are cut out for even if they have the talent for it.
  2. He's not bad enough to be cut. Even as a backup. As long as he's good enough for the 53 he should stay on the team.
  3. I have faith that Russ is doing what he should be doing now - keeping as far away from personnel and coaching decisions as possible. Can you imagine Russ giving his input while Beane and McDermott are having a meeting? The schmuck would be laughed out of the room.
  4. Bills could go the Texans route a trade away a draft pick just for someone to take him and his bloated contract.
  5. B-b-but Dareus has been doubled! He's doing great! Defensive tackles aren't expected to make plays. I read it right here on TBD.
  6. No one worked harder at SU than ShamWow. I also never saw someone have more concussions than he did throwing his body all over the field every game. I hope his CTE is in check and he has a safer tackling technique now. No.
  7. Bills fans have become way too confident in this team. Yes, a 3-1 record is nice. But we've been 3-1 before. Hell, just last year under Rex we were 4-2. The offense still stinks. And after losing our #1 WR, it's going to likely stink more. Meanwhile, the Bengals defense is for real. I have the same question as I did going into the Panthers game: can our offense score against their defense? If you can't score points then it doesn't matter how good your defense is - you're not going to win.
  8. Immediately our starting slot receiver (#3 on the depth chart).
  9. The only one debatable was Ryan's fumble/pass. And I think that's a 50/50 determination that anyone could interpret differently. Did Ryan really regain possession when his grip on the ball was knocked loose? Considering how the ball came out, one could easily argue no he didn't.
  10. These NFL palaces are absurd. And not in a good way. Ridiculous how much money is wasted in this country. Oh well.
  11. Dak was on the board. But you can't have too many underachieving interior linemen with off-the-field issues on the team, apparently.
  12. The fact that no one would take him for a 5th rounder speaks volumes. He's not long for this team. Maybe not any other team either. It was a garbage pick the day he was chosen and that stink ain't going away.
  13. It's about the ability to sustain. Hauschka is not going to be booting 50+ field goals every game. You can't depend on that, hence it cannot be sustained. Right now it's great because we're winning. But decisions like McDermott made yesterday is going to end up costing this team wins.
  14. That wasn't Dareus it was Worthy. Oh just stop.
  15. He's now the fourth-best DT on the team. Just a guy.
  16. Could this day possibly be any better?
  17. Interesting. What was the alternative? Punt? Odd take by Schopp.
  18. Bills are 3-1 so all is well! When's the parade?
  19. It's the run, run, run leading up to the 55 yard attempt that's the issue, imo.
  20. Sounds like a bunch of snowflakes. Maybe the "average fan" should toughen up and be less sensitive.
  21. Sometimes the country needs a wake up call. There are so many in this country who (a) think there is no more racial equality problem, (b) doesn't care that there is a racial equality problem, or © is glad there is a racial equality problem because it benefits them personally. To me, the flag/anthem represents exactly what you say - the idealism of freedom, liberty and equality and to honor those who stood for them (especially but not excluded to the military). That's why I will always stand. But that flag/anthem doesn't mean the same to everyone. And even if it does, it doesn't prevent one from making a statement in this way when they find it necessary. Why would the "average white guy in the stands" feel "mad and disrespected" by the black players who are exercising their first amendment right? If they're mad then that's on them.
  22. I appreciate your compassion and willingness to understand someone else's perception and the complicated nature of being human. However, in this case I think it's more than fair to say Dareus has underachieved since signing one of the highest contracts in the NFL. Just based on what he accomplished in 2011-2014 and what little he has done since then.
