I like the "No Tool" approach Nix has taken building the team. Why screw with that model? How many days to training camp, and why hasn't someone started a should we..........Travis Henry thread? -

Penn State sanctions handed down
Best Player Available replied to ACor58's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Penn state should just kill the program for 10 years. They can only recruit 15 players a year for the next 4 years. What kid wants to go there now? Better yet who wants to go to a home game?? When a college president is afraid for his job because a coach (Paterno) could UN-officially over rule him (he did) something is wrong. Man talk about a fall from grace. The Paterno name will now be forever shamed. Deservedly so. -
Bruce Smith Joining Concussion Lawsuit
Best Player Available replied to BRAWNDO's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Arnold's workmans comp reform in Ca. changed the whole landscape. Although I find it very hard to believe it's possible they are settling for what many would consider outrageous amounts of money. Remember you have to be classified as disabled to get a workers comp settlement.Your settlement is based on your percentage of disability. Then if you get 200+K in a settlement,(a lot of which maybe in a medical set aside) and continue to be part of the class action suit you will be required to payback every penny of the comp settlement when the class action suit settles. Medical set asides which may account for these high settlements are placed in an escrow account and are not personal monies. Every friggin penny needs to be accounted for (required by medicare) and 200K doesn't buy you much with traumatic head injuries that may in the future would include hospital stays, surgeries, meds, etc. -
Bruce Smith Joining Concussion Lawsuit
Best Player Available replied to BRAWNDO's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Bruce always had a knack for big paydays. This lawsuit is getting a little tedious. Can programmers now sue their former employers because the majority of them have carpel tunnel based on poor ergonomics in the 70's and 80's? The employers certainly knew. Examples of job hazards in almost any profession/sport has too be a mile long. Granted concussions over a career can make for a really poor life as the athlete ages, but this looks like a money grab by some of the participants. The end result could be a a sport that doesn't even resemble the current NFL, if they banned any hit by leading with the head. Maybe the running game would become popular again? -

Wow, someone else on earth that has sting figured out! -
Wow, this topic yet again. Let's think just how many q-backs play injured all the time and still win. Here's a single example I don't have time to search but was it last year or 2010 when Romo played with cracked ribs and a collapsed lung. You got to wonder if the Dallas fan board blames that for not hoisting the Lombardi that year? I'm hoping this year Fitz doesn't have to re-write history with the interview he gave last post season, when he amazingly admitted they were not used to winning (early on) and were feeling the heat. I know its been discussed before but the mental part of the game is as important as his newly installed "mechanics". That said Fitz is the man this year and probably next no matter what. Go Fitz! Flame away!

Isn't "Hate" kind of a 0ver used and misused description? For instance I hate the douche killing his own people in Syria. Other than a person suffering from mental illness I doubt anyone hates a quarterback, or any player. i understand its a popular word but come on it's a friggin sport. It is true the remaining Buffalo fans my family and friends included mood rises and falls depending on what happens on Sundays. But none of my family hates anyone. The Bills are unique to WNY. Some cities football is well no big deal. LA comes to mind. Wishing and wanting a position improved, to help a team one cheers for in a sport, which is in my case anyways is simply a form of entertainment. It's expression of a view not accepted as the popular norm (here). yet that view is usually described here as hate? I didn't realize our receiver corp drastically changed? Other than some of them who were and are still suspect as to being NFL players and starters are still on the team. IMO we need a 2nd starting receiver to evolve or get signed. Our passing game really still doesn't have a group of players who scare anyone. I hope someone steps up on the roster in a couple of weeks, to give us a true 2nd reliable option. -
Former WR Josh Reed Slams Buffalo

They do call it "Buffalo Pizza" which had me scratching my head when I first heard it for a couple of reasons. I had never heard the description before. it is hands down the best pizza in a town where frozen crusts are filled with a cheese wizz like substance, etc. and called pizza. In a couple of ways it tastes different than pizza I get when in Buffalo. It's thin crust, never had one in Buffalo. He uses wood fired ovens. The owner is Italian and certainly knows how to make a pizza. I think he uses the word Buffalo simply because he is from there. People here think pizza is chit based on the cheese wizz "style". Crap pizza is not unique west of the Rockies. This whole thing started with someone on this board saying he opened a place somewhere and introduced people to "Buffalo pizza"? In this small coastal town the place is hands down the best pizza, but there is nothing in it that I can tell is unique or "Buffalo like". -
Wow, if he got busted on the 880 he had to be really screwing up. The 880 at times is like the last lap of a Indy car race. Anything and everything goes. It can be an intimidating stretch of road on weekend nites, unless your used too it.

The last 2 visits to Chi-town for us have been for Clapton's Crossroads. We were in the Hotel in front of Buddy Guys legends club. My stories on both visits there were all on the extreme positive note. I'll only bore you with one though. We got to the hotel by cab from the airport. Chatted up the cabbie paid, gave him his tip, and went in to register. Someone in our party said to me the cabbie is here to talk to you. I though I gave him some ones and a five for his tip. Turned out I gave him some ones and a fifty. He said I don't think you meant to tip me that well. I didn't but took the fifty back and gave him a twenty which then almost equaled the fare. As they say he was a righteous dude. I love Chicago people, especially the natural blond polish chicks. -
Can Fitzpatrick be an upper echelon QB?
Best Player Available replied to Billsrhody's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well, here's some homer tips I have learned. 1) You can always call him Fitzmagic. Even if he loses 7 straight, there will be an acceptable excuse. No matter how absurd it is. 2) You can never call him Fitzgarbage. Even if he goes on a 7 game losing streak. See Above. If you cannot contain yourself you will be labeled a "hater" No trying to say you have a valid point to make, it is unacceptable. Some have already said there OK with a 0-3 start since Fitz will still be getting his "mechanics" in order. Be prepared 3) The Bills current coaching staff are golden. Never mind the head coaches 10-22 record we were/are rebuilding from a perennial 7-9 team that had to be blown up. David Lee is a gift from above. Never make a David Lee Roth joke, it's banned. 4) Wannastache is most likely the DC of the year because???? He was out of the league for years? No. No one else wanted him? Some truth there. He got a free one year pass in the Bills booth while a DC named Edwards took all the blame? Correct. 5) Mechanics. The most overused word on this board. For Fitzmagic and Lee's sake I hope it works on a 8 year vet. 6)Go Bills -

I guess after the emotions calmed down. I'd sober up in time for the parade, having gone and seen the game in Buffalo with friends. -
Kenneth Davis - remember him?
Best Player Available replied to \GoBillsInDallas/'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That's what many fans including myself liked about KD. He knew his role and embraced it. Not once can I remember him complain about anything. His work ethic, his mindset, and attitude was something that seems to be lacking in the new NFL. -

Great pick by FJ. It will look great next to the 2014 vette he wins for super bowl MVP in a couple of years. -
A trade would be tough and value would be low if anyone even had interest. The NFL is loaded with players like Jones and a few others on our squad. 7th round pick would do little for the team. Traditionally, there will be way better receivers cut by the time the season starts, than Jones. Where's his value in a trade?
