Ken Whisenhunt for HC?
Best Player Available replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Wisenhunt 18-30 coaching the past 3 years in the NFL. Career NFL coaching record? Loser. Perfect for Nixs continuity comments. Why would a 72 year old loser first time GM want a winner and screw up the "tarnish" on this joke of a team? Another HC with a career losing record. But wait he's a nice guy. So go get it done Russ. He's even lost a super bowl but nowhere close to Marvs pathetic 4 in a row. (with help from Jimbo) Mediocrity the Bills brand. Try boosting tickets sales with that hire -
Chip Kelly HC! (possibly for the Browns)

When we used to blow through Dayton while on the road. My favorite spot was the sports bar where Pete Rose used to make his MLB bets. It's shrine to him now, lol. Besides that Dayton blows. Whatever. I perceive unnecessary bashing of a guy that did no wrong to the bills. Maybe read some of the 35+pages and prove me wrong. Are you meatheads publicist? -

It's the lead story on Eugene local news. Not signed, no Bills or Eagles even got him to the table. Clevelands new owner knows how to go after what he wants. Brandon should be a little more pro-active if he wants an "A" lister? -

I didn't realize Bellicheck is available? And "we just missed out"Regardless, show some class here. Accept is buffalo, be happy for the eventual retread that gets hired. Like Rico says. No change until new ownership. Believe it. -

Reading the recent posts in this thread is interesting. Bills fans feeling left at the altar because one of the hotest coaching prospects in years, decides and rightfully so to not touch a gig in Buffalo. Just like others did when Gailey became coach. How did that work out? Now forward to 2013 and How do the fans react? They trash the dude with lies and innenuando. Classy Bill fans as usual. Cheating hack? really meathead? Please post a link? Thanks! Keep the faith maybe Marty ball will rule the day soon in B-LoDoes anyone thinking that a marketing guy being handed the keys in Buffalo changes absolutely anything? Do you think coaching prospects buy into it because Russ Brandon says so? Funny stuff. -

The Bills are putting spin just on the fact they were even granted an interview C/ Kelly. Brandon can say "we tried" Zero chance they were ever to be a contender in the Kelly sweepstakes. Anyone not named Lovie or McCoy, will prove business as usual at OBD on their coach search. Although wisenhunts career losing record could be sold as a highpoint. Since Marv was in the same boat when the bills took a flyer on him. -

Graham was a way better AFCE blogger for ESPN than the brain dead James Walker. -

Sadly, you are wrong. On Chip kelly. Chances are extremely slim he would come to buffalo. Way earlier in this thread I gave some reasons why that is not going too happen. Personally IMO, Chip Kelly has the "potential" to be the best thing that ever happened to the Bills. If I'm Russ Brandon I would open with an offer of 10 million per year for 5 years. Nothing else will suffice. kelly will either coach theBrowns or the Ducks. That said GO DUCKS! -
Bills coach search update
Best Player Available replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He certainly can lay claim in a business that lives or dies, by the what have you done for me lately. That He's done quite a bit. The past 2 seasons have been unreal for him. Expect him to head to Chi-town if he leaves though. -
Yikes what's that say for the threads in this hot rumor mill?

Chip Kelly HC! (possibly for the Browns)

Kelly doesn't seem to come off as arrogant or a dick to many. What he does seem to demonstrate in interviews, on the field, or with his players is confidence. Nothing wrong with that. Chances of him landing in Buffalo? Not good. One thing off the top is that he favors smaller O-lineman in his frantic offensive pace. The Bills O-line might not suit his game? He runs plays on average every 13 seconds. With no substitutions. The plus side is he loves to run to set up the pass. The Bills in that regard would intrigue him. He also seems to cut and plug his quarterbacks. Example the freshman that started for him this year won that job in training. Russ Brandon would need to back up a truck full of money to get his attention away from the Browns. Although I doubt it. Maybe Brandon is willing to. So that in exchange for less control that Kelly a rookie head coach will want, greenbacks would suffice. Also, can Bills fans be happy with Kelly's program which in all likelihood will not get them deep into the playoffs in the first couple of years? If he can even succeed in the NFL. I think the Bills should go balls deep for the guy and give him what he needs. The CJ Spiller lead running attack with Kelly calling the plays would be awesome to see. -

Kelly knew or worked with one of the Bills coaches. I don't know who that person(s) is. That was the reason he was there. Now, since the whole staff is gone, and IF Kelly will interview with the Bills I am sure he will listen to his friends feedback. -
How would moneyball work in Football?
Best Player Available replied to cage's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
A couple of examples of what good teams use that for. Calculated odds of hitting a FG from the 34 yard line instead of punting. Going for 2 points on the first TD instead of kicking the PAT. Chip Kelly of the ducks is a master of those type of things and a reason the Ducks think they can still succeed without him. Since his analytics are a huge part of their program. -
Ray Lewis set to retire after this season

My favorite Fitz story (I don't have many) was the Ravens game when Lewis tackled Fitz and was lying there on top of him. Fitz was miked up his comment to lewis was "get off me *itch". -
Why will the Bills need to sit a rookie QB when all the talented ones started day one this year in their rookie season? Including a 3rd rounder.Paying a guy 8-9 million to babysit sounds like a typical Bills move and destined to blow up. Smith has more starter value in the market than Fitz will/would. your right!

About Buddy Nix...
Best Player Available replied to KeisterHollow's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Imagine Buddy Nix in a conference room interviewing Chip Kelly, because I can't.LOL Hicks is getting blowback already for "telegraphing" his QB intentions a head of time. Saying things NO talented GM would say. Like we will move up if needed.Well buddy the selling price just went up. -
Russ Brandon named President/CEO
Best Player Available replied to Wagon Circler's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This makes some sense. An org chart that was floating around somewhere yesterday shows Brandon reports to Ralph Wilson jr. the owner. The "owner" had no title though. A lot of owners require no title for obvious reasons.Polishing a turd indeed. -

He should have been let go today then. While I agree he has one foot out the door. What value is a lame duck GM? He certainly cannot be viewed as a positive in the coaching search.IMO I don't want him anywhere near picking another quarterback or anyone for that matter. In fact a new coach with past success probably wants some input there too. The Bills are stuck with any Nix personnel moves this day forward. I am on the side that says he has drafted poorly.
