  1. Your cherry picking obvious players here. Levitre and wood have got zero honors. Do they suck? NO. I put them as above average serviceable lineman. Not great though. Hard to tell how good the pass protection is, since Fritz unloads in 2 seconds on most plays.Players also vote for the pro bowl(or used to?) I don't deny talent. But saying the team is loaded is way over the line. So now that the entire coaching staff has earned their unemployment, we can now blame it on scheme? IMO we have one wide receiver SJ13. The rest would be 3rd stringers on good playoff teams. Guys like Ruvell Martin, Merriman wouldn't have even been in the league if not for Gailey and Nix. In all the decades of suck, I have to put 2012 as one of the worst. Because of expectations. Sure the coaches effed it up. But I blame the GM even more for not getting the talent here via the draft like he promised. Bills depth? Well, those guys were drafted as starters As for Spiller on the Jets being a pro bowler. Give me a break KC is not a team unlike the bills. They suck even more. Yet, they had players voted in. BTW their in Siberia too, and thats no knock on KC. I enjoy the town when there. I give a lot of the blame to the still employed GM.
  2. If all these Bills players mentioned are so good. Now come the Bills don't even get one of them placed as even a pro bowl alternate? KC put 5 players in the pro bowl. Calling the event a popularity contest doesn't count. Bills fans perceptions maybe are a little unrealistic in saying the team is "loaded" with talent. A look at their AFCE record says otherwise. Winning just ONE game against a winning team in Gailey's tenure speaks volumes.
  3. Sounds about the level of accuracy SIRI can do.
  4. Jim kelly club has PSL it's price is on every single ticket.Has been for years. Is it the outrageous price like in NJ? No.BTW thank Al Davis for the concept.
  5. Is it really all about the money for Levitre? Maybe not. There's plenty of NFL players that play for the paycheck. Then there's the ones that came into the league from winning programs, and winning is important for themselves and for their team. Levitre if he stays would be on his 3rd head coach in a 4 year career.Just Like Kyle Williams, J. Byrd, maybe levitre wants to WIN. He and the rest of the team will yet again get another Rah rah, speech by their new coaches. The Bills are good at talking but their play rarely backs it up. Really, a big loss for the team. But anyone that's into winning, and success could hardly be blamed from bolting, from a new untested regime that has question marks all over it. For Levitre blocking for a franchise QB instead of the Gailey class favorite maybe as important as the big payday. If he and others leave could anyone blame them?
  6. 72 years old and I'm looking foolish with this bunch of kids. I wonder if my zipper is up? Russ please buy me out so I can go home and boil peanuts
  7. I ask for someone to find a single quote attributed to Chip Kelly saying "I am moving on to the NFL"? What he did say pre Fiesta Bowl was I have told my agent set up interviews if there are interested party's. I have a game to play and this NFL talk is a distraction. After the game I will listen. Kelly HAS not turned is back on the NFL 2 years in a row. In 2011 the tampon Bay Bucks offered him a contract in the 3.5 million per range. Kelly probably makes that in O. He left, Not a single other team showed interest. 2013 he said on the tube. "I will listen to offers, I want it done fast". ESPN bobbleheads stated that "total control" was not a prime concern for Kelly. He left NO one at the altar last week since he got zero offers. People on this board calling him a arrogant A-Hole sound butt hurt IMO. Nothing about the man speaks arrogant. Billy Bellicheat is a prime example of arrogance IMO. Chris Mortinson said Kelly interviewed with 2 teams Browns, Eagles. Maybe the time spent in the Hotel conference room with the Bills? was so short, it was not considered a interview. Flame away if you wish. Myself, a 3 hour drive and I'm in too see the 2013 Kelly Ducks. Saturday's games this past year were a nice offset the torture Gailey would put NFL fans through on Sunday's. GO BILLS
  8. Once again thanks JW for some logic. I remember how well a certain ex coaches bull horn went over.Motivation through leadership works a lot better, than treating highly paid professional athletes like a college red shirt freshman. Kyle Williams has been in Buffalo awhile, He's going on his 3rd DC in 3 years. like many before him he's frustrated. Schobel, Moulds, etc. he wants to win now, he's never been on a winning Bills team.
  9. Thats all over the place. Maybe this will ground the washed up Tuna's opinion. The chin personally vouched for Chan gailey. How did that turn out? Not going to tango with you big guy, because you know it all. And I'm on thin ice.
  10. IMO Russ Brandon certainly keeps expanding a base, inventory as he so gracefully puts it, hot dogs, anything. He sells off home games for the almighty buck. That's what his background is. I made zero assertions to the intelligence of football fans.I do know that if Smith was hired not many Bears fans would be rooting for Buffalo though. My point on Marrone was a Syracuse hire being on the geographical fringe of the bills fanbase certainly isn't going to hurt ticket sales. Was it the reason they hired him? No. Did it cross Brandons mind? I have a hard time believing any decision isn't related to $$$$$ from Russ Brandon.I also think he was a miserable failure as a GM, but now all of a sudden because of a 5 minute video on New Years day he a visionary? I need to see more, I'm skeptical. BTW I'm on board with the hire, because IMO anyone is better than the unemployed 2012 staff. but would have preferred McCoy.
  11. Ruvell Martin. 5 years 40 million.............. Oh wait gailey's gone.
  12. I'm speaking of the process. Edit away, sometimes it may be hard to understand unless you have experience being recruited. Football is no different than a fortune 500 company. But were all entitled to an opinion. An exception proves the rule? Are you serious? There's hundreds in pro ball in many sports.
  13. See (lil) Donte Whitnner of the SF Niners. For a example on how wrong you are. In fact it was with Da Browns i believe.Coaches, CEO's Safety's, top Engineers, Wall street brokers, actually anyone that's the flavor of the moment always use leverage as part of the process. It's the American way.
  14. There was no way Kelly ever considered the Bills, more than a courtesy interview. In fact that probably went both ways. kelly hjas made it clear the opportunity had to be right. Ask Tampa Bay about it last year when they low balled him and he left and flew back to oregon. Personally, it would be great if he stays there. He's not exactly being paid chump change there either. And although he hasn't won it all he's come close twice in 4 years. he's got unfinished business at the college level. I wonder how much the pats* pay him for his advice?
  15. Disagree. A sales & Marketing guy needs to expand his base. Thats what they do in the NFL small markets. I don't have a link but didn't marone at the end of the season PUT his name out there saying he's available? Wouldn't that partly cause the interest in him. Because on the surface, his record isn't all that impressive, and I understand he took over a turd of a program.I could see Brandon seeing a hire Kind of in the bills market as a huge plus, in selling inventory. Which is what he's paid to do among other things. A salesman never stops selling. Did he hire him because brandon is from Syracuse? No way. But money is the bottom line and nobody understands that better than the bills newly minted president.
  16. Twitter, and in particular Thurman!
  17. See, this is the over reactionary commentary on C. Kelly that I love. You say he had "blue chippers?" when he got there? Name them please. This program in Eugene is not Penn state or Notre dame by any means. What else is funny is Nike a local company based in Portland is mocked because they buy a team new unis (for marketing reasons obviously) and throw some money (like any D1 program) and this board has people that attack that? Why? Because his detractors will always bring up that the Ducks rarely put anyone into the NFL. So which is it? This year their ranked 42nd in recruiting. I don't see that as a huge program built on recruiting, quite the opposite. Kelly's big recruit for 2013 supposedly is a local kid (where he gets a lot of players) that ran for 600 yards in a single game. The kid is from Beaverton. Marone's record is 25-25 in the end, I hope succeeds in Buffalo. I am hopeful that he will in a FEW years turn it around. I personally need to learn more about the guy. I do find it odd that Brandon a sales and marketing guy by trade. Hired on the outer limit geograhpically of his Bills fanbase, and oh yea he's from there.
  18. I live in Oregon go to some of the the games for the past 3 years. And, can say with Confidence that Kelly's record here(look it up). Is the reason they played in 4 straight BCS bowls. NOT because the program was "top 10" when he got there. It seems a lot of people here never even heard of the guy before the 2013 Fiesta Bowl. But, amazingly now have themselves armed with their one or 2 stats. Will Chip Kelly fail? that's a 50/50 chance. But for a new President of the Bills to say "we will be forward thinking" Then hire a medicore college coach is very uninspiring. Like someone said earlier 8-5 will get a coach fired in year 4. I understand the love for Syracuse here, there are a lot of fans and alumni on this board. The tension here is palpable and I could get banned for just posting this. That I know.
  19. What? You got him for a quarter of Kelly's asking price? Great job Rus. Ralph
  20. It was on a recent flight OUS, Norway? Anyhow he had too be "subdued"
  21. Just hope he doesn't escape and know how close Cleveland is!
  22. I don't have a link but I remember the bet. I believe I posted that Maurder just put himself in a position to make easy $$$$
  23. New progressive ownership. Really it's that simple. Does anyone thing the professionals on NFL teams view Russ Brandon and his 72 year old GM as progressive? No matter what spin Brandon uses (he;s a master BTW) it is still the same old, tired Bills. A lot of people wish real change would take place. New Bills ownership and things do change since Litman, Brandon, Overdork are gone day one.
