So the excuses are already starting that we won't know what EJ can do until after the 2015 season? And, that prediction is based on the fact that he got the job prematurely? That's about the most absurd excuse ever for coddling a prospect. And, the GM and coach that would actually be silly enough to think that have no place in todays NFL. But, IMO there is no GM or coach that would even consider that philosophy. Considering the team hasn't done squat in the 21st century. The pressure to win is a little more intense than waiting till 2016 to see what a prospect can do.

"he is a really nice guy" I met his family at the Tampa game. They were really nice but none of them could play football either. -
He was a cool non confrontational kind of guy. It was impossible not to like him.

Did Led Zeppelin Steal ‘Stairway to Heaven’?
Best Player Available replied to truth on hold's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Surprised that no one has mentioned the incredible influence the Four Freshman, Lulu, and Bobby Vinton had on Zeppelin's early work. Everyone steals. The Willie Dixon credit is for the lyrics (and not even all of them) on Whole Lotta Love. Not the riff. They did not steal the "song". Whats next someone is going to say Devo didn't write Satisfaction? -
Former Jills suing the Bills

Can the Bills rent the Cowgirls rejects for this season? Sorry, but IMO they would be a significant improvement over the Jills. And no disrespect to all the guys here married to former Jills! -

First, I didn't mean to point fingers at you at all. i am good! But, I think as A SOP everyone should change their battery's in their sarcasm meters on Sunday night. because the majority of my off season posts contain heavy doses of it. How else can we survive? -

Well, yes it is. but IMO this is a friggin football board, not a English class at Columbia. I mean really are grammar police really necessary? As an educator I can respect your concern. probably no different than myself cringing when Keef Richards botches the opening chord on jumping jack flash night after night. -

Well yea it's stupid but hardly new. Look into the early (and current for that matter) astronaut program. To a man they drove corvettes and did very crazy things. Now was that smart? No. especially with the US space program at risk. Astronauts drag racing was almost a religion. And really a football player while being well paid, has nowhere near the importance of say screwing up a launch because he was hammered and racing his vette. i remember Gus Grissom (i think) speeding tickets up for auction on e-bay it was hilarious there were a lot of them. Most in the reckless driving area of speeding. But, Big Ben leads the charge on stupid stuff on a bike. -

Perhaps the NFL should start a sewing and knitting club for younger players. Just like my grandmother belonged too. Don't want these new millionaires having fun. of course if this action is written into the contract then there is a breach. i kind of doubt that though. Did anyone here ever do anything crazy on a bike or in a car? it seems unlikely, judging by the responses. #howsmyenglish -
Dumping his bloated contract (thanks NIx) and getting a mid round pick for him is IMO the best move by Whaley to date. Time for the losing is okay attitude of this team too stop, and that was a great start. In niner land other than hardcore fans no one even knows the guy yet. I would guess somewhere within the Niners food chain he has been told about their views on magic markers and T-shirts. Also, it's doubtful he will shrug his shoulders at Kap. If he gets his number called.in the huddle

The Bickering Bills

This is about team full of known talent, pro bowlers, an excellent staff, future hall of famers. Top shelf GM. And,they are being compared to a perennial 6-10 team with a DT that got caught with synthetic weed? And a "drag tace". Somehow I doubt SI will run a cover in '14 that reads the Big Bad Bickering Bills. -

What if EJ Stinks or Gets Injured Again?
Best Player Available replied to Niagara Bill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
They may know more than anyone on this board. and, I for one would hope so.That said neither of them have done squat in terms of any success in the NFL, Marrone looked lost on the side line at times last year in regards to clock and game management. and the jury is definitely out on Whaley. Hackett well for now I have no comment. But cronyism runs deep on this staff. Crossman is proof. So, The validity of your point is very much up for debate. Those guys and their assistants are all playing for their jobs in 14. The new DC? Well again I hope he kicks butt. That said he is probably a one or two year rental like Pettine. So, where does that put the D if they go lights out this year. A fifth scheme change in 6 years?
