  1. What is it that attracts you: His piss poor attitude or his stellar play for the Browns last season?
  2. Exactly, according to MM they bring in as many as 30 players on any given tuesday. But let's get our football facts from little blurbs in print.
  3. It's that sort of thinking that could keep us wallowing in mediocrity for eternity. 1- Draft quarterback 2- Determine after @ 11 games that he is no good 3- Cut or trade said player, eat the cap and draft picks you spent on him. 4- wash and repeat.
  4. Did Weiler die when Drew left town?
  5. Reality check. If the Bills win this game each and every one of us should be completely ecstatic and proud. No excuses, no "well the Patriots are banged up", etc. etc. A win in primetime in foxboro would be nothing short of our greatest road victory in atleast 6 or 7 years, if not longer. I don't see this being within the realm of possibility, but as you know anything can happen. If we actually won this game and I came on the board afterwards and saw posts like "well they weren't at full strength" I think I would puke
  6. To be fair I've seen some really good play from him in the run game, while in pass pro he may be our worst.
  7. He DID offer LeBeau the job. As for the earlier comments from others, that was Greg Williams Tennessee defense with a little tweak here and there from DL, not vice-versa...
  8. No but the players changed
  9. I agree on Vilma's future for sure. I know Willis weighs atleast 235 and Vilma standing next to him looks like he weighs more, that's all.
  10. Thurman was LT before LT was even in high school. Willis ain't there yet.
  11. Posey was no help whatsoever yesterday. The thing that gets overlooked with the contant griping about him is that there actually WASN'T a big deal made about him by the team and he has a very reasonable salary that does not hurt us.
  12. Did you see him vs. the Bills and STILL believe he weighs 235? I sure don't. He just seems to be a real "thick body" tpye even for his limited height (which is still taller than Fletch) Plus the Jets are doing a much better job of cleaning up bodies on front of him than our D-line is.
  13. Think of it more like a square peg in a round hole. Believe it or not you can only count on 1 hand the amount of Complete MLB's (or ILB's) playing in the league right now who are adept with both range and size. Ray lewis and Johnathan Vilma are two off-hand.
  14. No, that doesn't make him overrated. He's always been small and quick, and requires a good set of DT's in front of him. He's a diffent type of MLB, as opposed to one who CAN take on blocks but doesn't have the range to go sideline to sideline.
  15. Honestly I'm tired of the hiring and firing rollercoaster. We need better players on both sides of the line. Period. Start to address this in the coming off-season and I will be happy. A new coach or GM isn't going to be able to change anything drastically and will probably hurt at first more than he would help.
  16. NC is still a fine corner. If he wants to be THE highest paid though, he will not be here next year. We need defensive tackles, a defensive end, and probably atleast two good offensive linemen.
  17. Your points have been appreciated and well documented in recent weeks, but if you can't see that our main issues overall have a lot more to do with players than coaching adjustments at this point, then I don't know what else to tell ya
  18. The man in my avatar is the heart and soul of this team. Willis is the engine. McGee is the wheels.
  19. That post is an example of why I'll always value what you have to say, inspite of some occasional journeys into the bazaar Well done.
  20. That's a very good and overlooked point.
  21. I've seen all the same Qb's you have mentioned, and fully agree with your points about playing under certain "conditions". The difference is that I've also seen TB do it under duress, and game pressure, and I've seen him snap through his progressions and stand in there til the last second and make the third down throw to his 4th read while getting smacked in the face. I've also seen the likes of Elway and Kelly (whom I would take over Brady BTW) look like pop-warner qb's when facing certain "conditions". In fact, I'll never forget attending Biscuit's first game as a pro vs. Denver when Elway had a most forgetable day. It is also commonality that when non-scrambling type QB's face intense middle pressure (ie. Pats opener 2003) they look all like journeymen.
  22. Actually that depends what you are looking for. Based on what I've seen Bennie is one of the better run blockers in the league , while at the same time being one of the poorer pass blockers in the league.
  23. Things that Brady, himself (these are not team influenced attributes), is able to do that make him a very, VERY good quarterback: (I actually watch some Patriot games if that matters) - Read defenses: He is nearly always making the correct decision as to where to go with the ball, down to his 3rd and fourth reads if needed. He is one of the better Qb's at looking off/holding safeties and backers in positions that will become an advantage for his receivers and their spacing on the field. - Accuracy: He has a knack for hitting his receivers in stride, often allowing them to continue for yards after the catch. Even under heavy pressure, in MOST cases, he keeps his eyes down the field and is able to throw accurately. - Poise: As mentioned above he keeps his focus down the field better than most. Without being necessarily mobile he has a very good feel in the pocket and an ability to side-step well to avoid rushers. His heart rate probably does not fluctuate nearly as much as most Qb's when under pressure. - Touch: He has a good understanding for the drop depths taken by defenders and is able to place some tough throws over the coverage of the linebackers and underneath the zones of defensive backs. His medium to low end long ball, while not very impressive strength-wise always seems to drop in the bread basket nicely. He throws very accurate screens and flat passes, which is seemingly becoming somewhat of a lost art these days. - Clutch: The guy plays his best football when the stakes are highest. This wasn't the case with him early on, but it sure is now (see previous 2 Superbowls and Championship game last season) Is this guy the best ever? NO Will he finish his career as one of the best (ie. HOF): YES Do I like him? NO Does his offensive line get away with holding calls more than most other teams?: Yes Edit- I am not interested in any sort of Yards per completion/ rating/passes over 40 yards/How many times he winks at his center statistical debate.
  24. We have about as much of a chance in that game as David Carr does going through an entire game without getting sacked.
