But he played better last year so to say he can’t after one game this season is crazy. Kid had a hard task and coaching really didn’t help. I myself think McD don’t like him and is trying to make a point to bring in one of his guys. Why not Dane on Ridley? Why not switch during the game when Lawrence and Ridley started picking on him and you could see him struggle…. To be honest Dane was picked on until Zay went down, so if he was lined up against Ridley like that he’d probably be toast too.

the "McD don't like him" is pretty ridiculous but agree w/ everything else you said there. And no doubt, Ridley is a top route runner comparable to our own Diggs.

I’ve caught a bit of Marino and Turner from time to time: I am curious…what are their credentials regarding actual football acumen aside from having shows that are dedicated to breaking down film?

Turner was a football coach, and also is an alumnus of The Scouting Academy, and worked as a National Scout for NDT Scouting

Yeah I mean we lost the LOS battle on nearly every snap.

At first I thought it was a rub play with Knox clearing out.

    But then he didn't.

And then we had 3 players all running to the strongside boundary. It just seems asinine.

Erik Turner brought up the same play w/ Cover 1... He couldn't figure out if Knox was free styling bc the rub should have occurred naturally between the 2 crossers. Also seems like Cook ran his route in the wrong direction.

You made some excellent and accurate points in your original post.

I disagree a little with the Harty point. Although you're right that his use has been limited. He contributed positively to the output this week. Needs to be in on a few more snaps and down field routes.... Sherfield also, in a different way of course, although he is getting snaps.

he has played will and sam for mcdermott. he has primary played Sam before becoming a mike in his most recent stints with mcdermott.

if any LB has versatility to play this role it is him.

Klein to Will is possible, Rapp to Sam

Fair enough about the past but his speed limitations at his age now I believe limit him to Mike in the mind of the team, imo.

  5. I figured Edmunds might struggle with the Bears due to the scheme differences and lesser players around him, but man o man, other than week 2, he has not impressed whatsoever. Barely looks average out there. Slow twitch.

With the Bills I could at least watch most games all-22 and see him often take away a read and force QB's to pull the ball down, go somewhere else with it, etc. but I just don't see that now with CHI-Town, not that I am looking at their all-22. Its just obvious, and not in a good way. He needs a very specific scheme to excel in the middle of a defense apparently.

Dorsey called a couple stupid pass plays on 4th down which won’t fly against a real team, but I thought he had a pretty good game plan. Allen was taken out mid 4th quarter. Otherwise they could’ve dropped 50+ on them

"real team" ...  there is no better front that Dorsey and the offense will face this season.

  7. People forget that Kelly was returning very early from a major knee injury to play in this game. This is why the offense didn't look like itself in the game. They had a very specific game plan to keep Kelly upright utilizing lots of screens and short passes, and of course the running game.

Wait, hold on a sec.....Do all of the above posts indicate that despite the heat he took, @BADOLBILZ was actually "right" about Edmunds for the last few years?

    Never mind, that's impossible, right?

    Carry on.

He was most definitely right, but for some reason (I know bc I was one of them too) MANY presumed he meant that Edmunds was a poor player judging by the pile on effects that would happen around these posts you speak of for the last few years, but that's not what he was saying.

  9. Edmunds is a good player, but not a great player. He priced himself out of Buffalo with his FA market value. That's all, plain and simple. There's really nothing more to it. Those that claim he sucked are wrong and those that thought he was a true year after year pro bowl type player are wrong as well.

  10. All the same posters saying the same things they say in every other of the 15 related threads about this. Gotta make their same take in each for some reason.

Regression is the wrong word for what Josh did in the Jets game or in certain games the past few years.

Adrenaline management issues seems more relevant and accurate to me.

And no, this is not on some coach to correct. It is on him and him alone, and he's corrected it before.
