  1. Nah. It's just easier to sit back and attack suggestions.
  2. Dick Vermeil (sniff, sniff)?
  3. Considering McGahee's yards per rush average and the unending 8 or 9 man fronts the Bills see, I'm thinking they do 'try it'.
  4. I'm not sure if I think he'd be the best choice for the team, but I think anyone that can go from Wisconsin's 'cloud of dust' offense to Reid's West Coast scheme has to be somewhat adaptable, right?
  5. You could be right. The right guy, especially if he can recruit well, can change the fortunes of a team. I'm not saying they'll be the next USC or anything like that, but maybe w/ a guy who can recruit and is a good coach in terms of preparing his players and in devising schemes, they might be a team that can compete to the point that they aren't a laughingstock.
  6. So that's it! Screw getting linemen, safeties, TEs, new coaching schemes, new management/ownership philosophies, or any of that stuff; just run the ball more! That's the ticket.
  7. What an interesting struggle that was; the battle for the most coveted award in the history of awards! Seriously though, I think Bush is clearly the best player in college football, so he did deserve the award. Now, the real award will come on draft day for whoever the top pick is: the big signing bonus!! $$$ Orlando Pace may have gotten denied the Hypeman in his last year @ Ohio State, but he got the top overall pick, as he should have, and the big bucks also. I still think it was a joke that he didn't win the Hypeman that year, as he's the one who gave linemen a stat: the pancake block. He was as dominant as any player I've had the chance to see play, but because he didn't play a glamour position, he was denied. In hindsight, I'm sure he doesn't care much though. He's done quite enough in the NFL to justify himself as one of the best to play his position. Bush, barring injury, should be entertaining as an NFL back. I think the best way to describe him is "Marshall Faulk, but faster. MUCH faster!"
  8. Or maybe they're alcoholics?
  9. That's what the 2nd round of the draft is for.
  10. Someone beat you to it.
  11. Kinda goes back to that whole "evaluating talent" thing, doesn't it?
  12. ...and do you even care?
  13. Haha!! Reminds me of the scene from the first 'Die Hard' movie, where Alan Rickman was seen trashing the office in a rage. Bonnie Bedelia then knew Bruce Willis was still alive, as only he could make someone that PO'd.
  14. Haha!! Very friendly, it was just funny how you didn't show up to Sliders for the tailgates, but we ran into each other both times before the games.
  15. Yeah, that's a tad bit lofty. I actually got to see him play a couple of times, as I have a friend who has Terps season tickets. He was very impressive in his last year @ Maryland.
  16. Wow. I knew Jacksonville did a good job of building by getting quality young players (amazing how having a staff that can evaluate talent, like Brunell, can make your team much better, isn't it?), but I forgot about Carolina's ability to put together a team so quickly. Who was the person that led that impressive expansion building effort?
  17. Well said. The draft is a crap shoot. The key is to to the best job of evaluating the talent available and to match it w/ your needs and the recommendations of your staff. In these areas, the Bills could use some help.
  18. Too bad the guy I liked, Madieu Williams, is battling injuries for Cincy. He looks like a solid safety if he finds a way to stay healthy.
  19. We're certainly not one of the top franchises, that's for sure.
  20. Sounds like a full itinerary. Have a blast. I'll be in Erie on Friday (going to see 'King Kong' w/ my brother, an avid fan of the movie since childhood), but we should be up there Saturday afternoon (my brother will be going to the game w/ me), so I'll have some time to make the rounds @ the tailgates. Name tags? Haha!! I think I'll remember you from our run-ins @ M&T Bank Stadium.
  21. Perhaps it's not an "either/or" situation. Sometimes it works, other times it doesn't. See what I mean?
  22. Let's not forget Charlie Casserley in Houston. I think he's done an awful job running that team.
