Uhh, Clements......Austin was recruited to Penn State about 3 years ago.
-
Here's the Top 25 recruiting classes, per Rivals.com: 1. Southern Cal (24 signees) Includes seven of California's 10 best and it's littered with blue chips from coast-to-coast. 2. Florida (27 signees) Fought USC to the finish ... more 1a and 1b than 1 and 2. Clearly the year's best classes. 3. Florida State (30 signees) Another fast and furious close; it's long on numbers – 30 signatures in all. 4. Georgia (27 signees) Reshad Jones' pledge on Wednesday finishes off what fellow five-star Stafford started in the summer. 5. Texas (25 signees) In-state dominance. The Longhorns "selected" more than they "recruited" inside the Lone Star State. 6. Penn State (24 signees) Couldn't have done much better: Seven of the top 10 recruits in Maryland and eight D-linemen. 7. LSU (25 signees) Who says Les Miles isn't fit to follow Nick Saban? Nine of Louisiana's top 10 will suit for the Tigers. 8. Notre Dame (27 signees) Charlie Weis proves his recruiting acumen may be as sharp as his play-calling. 9. Oklahoma (28 signees) Filling O-line needs and closing with in-state studs McCoy and Jermaine Gresham were huge. 10. Auburn (25 signees) The Tigers are the SEC's quiet assassins, assembling another deep group of supreme athletes. 11. Alabama (23 signees) The knock on this year's Tide team was offensive line. Andre Smith is here to answer. 12. Ohio State (20 signees) RB Chris Wells is the impact guy; the depth comes from four four-star linebackers. 13. Michigan (19 signees) Four-star DB Jonas Mouton was a late coup in a sturdy class. 14. Miami (Fla.) (22 signees) It's a decent class but it's the first for the Hurricanes to rank outside of our top 10 this decade. 15. Clemson (20 signees) Pulled off one of Signing Day's biggest surprises when they landed Spiller, the No. 1 player in Florida. 16. Ole Miss (29 signees) Quarterback Brent Schaeffer comes with five stars and previous SEC experience. 17. UCLA (22 signees) Four four-star offensive linemen headline another solid effort for Karl Dorrell and Co. 18. Arizona (25 signees) Classes like this are the reason Mike Stoops is here; the impact will be on the defensive side. 19. California (20 signees) It's a well-balanced class loaded with great athletes. 20. Nebraska (22 signees) The receivers have a chance to have the most impact, along with five-star DB Andre Jones. 21. Pittsburgh (25 signees) The Panthers bulked up on in-state commitments with six four-star signees. 22. Oklahoma State (28 signees) OSU made Texas a priority and brought in four Rivals250 defenders from the Lone Star State. 23. Tennessee (22 signees) Down year for the Vols; still picked up Fisher and two four-star offensive linemen. 24. South Carolina (24 signees) The Gamecocks addressed a major need with four four-star linemen. 25. Texas A&M (22 signees) Want skill position players? Try four RBs, four WRs, four DBs and two athletes.

There were some pretty decent performances here, but mostly from the interior guys. Broderick Bunkley, DT, Florida State To me, Bunkley didn't do a whole lot in the game, other than one pass he broke up later in the game. Most of the time, he was on the losing end of battles w/ the North's linemen. He didn't look anywhere near as dominant as he did in the practice sessions all week. Gabe Watson, DT, Michigan Watson was outstanding, getting in the backfield almost @ will and disrupting what the South team wanted to do. If we could come out of round 1 w/ D'Brickashaw Ferguson and round 2 w/ Watson, that would be great. Manny Lawson, DE, NC State He was a beast off the edge! I still don't know if he'll end up playing end or tackle in the pros, but one thing's for sure: he will be one heck of a pass rusher wherever he ends up. He was the most impressive DE of the day other than.... Tamba Hali, DE, PENN STATE Tamba simply owned the South team's line. He dominated in both the run and the pass, showcasing some good pass rush moves plus the toughness to hold up @ the point of attack against the run. Kamerion Wimbley, DE, Florida State Showed quickness and tenacity, especially in the 2nd quarter, then trailed off a bit. I don't know if it was fatigue or if he just was getting beat @ the line, but I didn't see much from him in the 2nd half. Kyle Williams, DT, LSU Kyle was a handful for the Noth OL. He pushed the pocket fairly well , especially late in the game, when he seemed to wear out their OL a bit. One of the things I keep hearing about him is that he can be dominated by bigger linemen. That certainly didn't happen much in yesterday's game. Daryl Tapp, DE, Virginia Tech Much like Wimbley, Tapp had a very good first half. He did a good job of creating pressure early on and didn't seem to lose much speed. Didn't do as much in the 2nd half, but was all over the place in the first. Babatunde Oshinowo, DT, Stanford I wasn't even sure if he was on the field in the first half, but had some nice plays in the 3rd quarter. Other than that, a relatively quiet day for him. Looks pretty strong @ the point of attack, though there were some times I saw him get neutralized @ the line.

In terms of just the game (not taking practices into consideration), here's what I thought of some of the top prospects: D'Brickashaw Ferguson, OT, Virginia Ferguson got beat on a couple inside moves late in the game. Those were the only 2 times I saw him beat all week. Solid performance. He's going to be a very good pro, I believe. Sure hope the Bills land him in the first. Mark Setterstrom, OG, Minnesota Very tough to move inside. I saw him stone more than a few DL. He fared well against bull rushers. I'd love to see him end up in Buffalo. He impressed me all week AND in the game. Will Allen, OG, Texas Another guy I saw get beat for a sack late in the game, but he showed me that he can not only play well in limited space, but out in the open as well. He got out on a very good block on a screen after also stopping the rushing DL first. Impressive. Jonathan Scott, OT, Texas Scott was used early on @ the RT position and looked good there. Great footwork; it was tough for the pass rushers to get around him. I guess there's something to be said in Longhorn country for having big OL that can move (Scott) instead of super huge OL that can't (Leonard Davis, Mike Williams). He worked @ LT towards the end of the game and impressed me there also. Max Jean-Gilles, OG, Georgia Like Allen, showed he can dominate inside, and also showed he can get out and make things happen. Had a really nice pull where he walled off the backside and allowed the RB to get to the secondary. If he does well @ the combine, he may just put himself into the first round of the draft instead of being a high 2nd rounder as many project. Nick Mangold, C, Ohio State He was extremely tough and more than held his own against the big DTs. He did a great job of anchoring the line for the North team. I'd love to see him on the Bills, especially seeing how fiesty he was, but w/ Preston there as an up and coming talent and w/ possible moves to be made in free agency (LeCharles Bentley perhaps???? Please??!!!!), I don't know if he'd be on the Bills' radar. If he is, I would NOT be opposed to seeing them draft Mangold. I'll do a review of some of the other positions I watched for later on.

Results of R. Rich's Buffalo Bills Keeper League

Sounds like a plan. The deadline for designating keepers will be July 1st. You can post who you want to keep (remember, 3 keepers per team) @ any time up until July 1st, but please do so in our forum on the league's site. -
Don't be so surprised. They have a lot of young talent returning, plus from what I read on Rivals.com, they have a pretty nice recruiting class coming in.

Like the old saying goes, "haste makes champions".

Not bad, but pales in comparison to guys like Parcells, Belichick, and Cowher.

I don't know if I'd say that as a rule, but you do have a point about ends being much tougher to find in free agency than tackles. I mean, look @ how the Bears were able to land Ogunleye, Jacksonville was lucky enough to land Reggie Hayward, or how the Cardinals got Bert Berry from Denver. There are examples, but for the most part, I do think teams hang onto their ends until it becomes a salary cap issue (Kearse to the Iggles). In this year's free agency crop, I don't see many ends like those guys who can come in here and make an immediate impact. For that reason, I'd LOVE to see the Bills draft Super Mario if he's somehow available. That's also taking into consideration the Bills acquiring a run stuffing DT in free agency. Personally, I'm hoping for Ryan Pickett, but he might be too pricey. Grady Jackson or Ma'ake Kemoeatu might be less expensive prospects to consider.

C'mon, now! Let the mob have their fun. If they say he sucks, he sucks.

Organizational structure issues???

Coming from a guy who has 5 tackles (1 solo) and 2 passes defensed in 3 career starts, that's an amusing statement.

Ham has an annoying way of getting stuck in your throat, especially near podiums.

Your sources seemed quite imposing in Virginia.

Sounds like more of Chris Clayton paraphrasing John Mortensen's comments from Art Irsay.

Does an executive's wife's cousin's uncle's brother in law's nephew's best friend's hairdresser's therapist's trainer's astrolgist's cab driver's boss' lawyer qualify?

That the Bills will remain in Buffalo for the 2006 season. Take that, Mort and Clayton!

True, but he also compiled the following stats in the later months of the season (November, December, January): November 9-12 December 10-16 January 1-1 Even by taking off last season's horrible stats, you're left w/ the following: November 8-10 December 10-12 January 1-0 In the 6 Novembers, 6 Decembers, and 2 Januarys Haslett coached the Saints: Months where Saints were above .500 mark: 4 Months where Saints were @ .500 mark: 2 Months where Saints were below .500 mark: 8
