I agree that the Bills should do what it takes to keep Peters on the line, since they do have the cap space. However, if the team continues to lose and makes no progress, keeping our core intact isn't going to thrill me quite as much. I hope they can keep these guys and get back on the winning track, but I'm not so enamored w/ the players that I want them here more than I want a winning team here.
I agree to a point. We certainly do not want to lose one of the best offensive linemen in the league, especially considering how difficult it has been for the Bills to find someone @ the left tackle position who can play @ such a high level.
However, we do not want to be stuck w/ a team of high priced players that isn't winning. It is very tough to get from under that (see Redskins, Washington or Dolphins, Miami).
Actually fellas, I've been working on this already, as I have pledged to do a lot more for this forum for the upcoming season.
Then again, another viewpoint might not hurt. Tell ya what; write up something and PM it to me. Then, I'll mesh it w/ my stuff and post it as a collaborative effort. Teamwork!
It's almost here.
This year, since I will have the time, the College Football forum will be a lot more active. Some of the things I have in mind:
Previews of major conferences
Player rankings
Weekly sleepers (teams and players)
and, of course, my weekly previews (pre-game) and reviews (post-game) of some of the top matchups of the college football week.
It's gonna be fun!
Nice try. I'll save the mob some time here....
[Typical response from some "diehard homer who knows it all", ala Randy Quaid in the Major Leauge movies...]
Well, he had Fairchild as coordinator and Jauron as head coach, and they both suck. So does Levy as GM. If they listened to me, the Bills would have 9 Lombardi trophies now. Go Bills!
The Bills are going to look like Rhodes scholars after completing the 3 team deal that gives us Haynesworth from Tennessee and Umenyora from the Giants for JP Losman, Marshawn Lynch, James Hardy, and Anthony Hargrove.
Now, what will they do w/ the 4 first round picks they'll also get in this blockbuster deal? Hmm...
High school? Try grade school. Kids going to sports camps that are middle school age are being bombarded by agents and even college recruiters nowadays. Too many guys who were bench warmers in their youth have kids and push them to be everything they were not.
Hopefully it won't have the same end result, or the same heat, as the last time we saw a game together in San Antonio.
Though it would be nice if it was as fun, as Jay, aussie, Kenny, Scotty, Lori, Beerball, gggbills, or my boy Julio can attest to.
