Unfortunately, sports fans in general want their fix of "boo yaa", plays of the week/day/last 5 seconds, and useless banter 'tween a couple wannabe Letterman show anchors. Aside from PTI, I have little use for ESPN.
Ever since they opened up a 5 Guys near us, my wife has become one of their most ardent fans. They do make a pretty tasty burger. Their order of fries is huge though. We usually get a regular fry order and split it.
Yeah. They were like the Clippers of MLB, in that they didn't want to pay anyone to stay, so when guys got really good, they left Montreal and many were glad to "escape".
Andre Dawson, Tim Raines, Marquis Grissom, Delino DeShields, Moises Alou, Gary Carter, Randy Johnson, Pedro Martinez, Larry Walker.....
What a sickening list of scrubs.
Such sarcasm. How I despise sarcasm.
Actually, if OL was in the cards for a first round pick and I was the GM, I probably would've looked to get a good RT prospect (maybe Cherilus or even Otah) and then move Walker inside to guard, where I believe his talents are better suited.
Going by what we had @ the time, I didn't think it was a horrible pick. Sure, he was a RT in college, but he was still the blindside protector of LEFTY Chris Simms. I didn't think he would have as much difficulty transitioning to the pros as it turned out that he did though.
As I said earlier, I think Albert can make a pretty good OT in the pros, but I believe he could be an all pro caliber guard also. Still, if he plays @ tackle, I do not believe he'll embarrASS himself @ all.
I guess technically I did.....in middle school. In high school, I played OLB and TE (only for a year and a half, thankfully; I couldn't stand playing offense). In college, it was strictly OLB.
I don't think I do anything special, other than try to really pay attention to the individual abilities of the players instead of just reading the box scores to tell who "had a good game" or not. Many others on the board watch the game as I do.
Got mine on Monday.
Well, maybe the guard @ the gate will recognize you and cut you a break for this weekend's game if the tickets don't arrive by then.
While their fans might brag on Long, I don't think many football insiders would praise him as the greatest lineman of all time. Long will probably be a very effective right tackle, but I just don't believe he'll be as effective playing on the left side @ this point in his career. While I don't think he'll struggle like Robert Gallery did, I also don't believe he'll make the seamless transition that Joe Thomas made last year. Thomas may be just a year or so away from being lauded as the best tackle in football along w/ Jason Peters. There were some who cited Ryan Clady as a better prospect due to his athleticism and long arms (even though he's got the rep as not being physical enough). Personally, I think Branden Albert has huge upside. I think he'll be a pretty good OT if that's in the cards for him. I also think that if he's moved inside to guard, he could become one of the very best @ the position.
I'm not worried or afraid of any team's offense. I am really more interested in seeing how Marcus Stroud pans out (injuries a thing of the past or not), whether or not Kawika Mitchell can help stabilize the defense by giving the team a linebacker who can drop back to defend if necessary or stuff the run when needed, and of course to know if Leodis McKelvin can quickly learn the ropes and become a very productive corner.
If those moves all pan out, the Bills could be in the position to make some of those offenses fear them.
