  1. The league may be ok with the number of eyes, but the advertisers who pay a premium rate during NFL broadcasts certainly aren’t. For advertisers, it’s all about the percentage of viewers tuned in during a particular broadcast in a particular market. LA has never been strong in that regard and the local affiliates have never been too happy about it, either. It’s a tough pill to swallow when Sunday matinee movies and reruns of Gilligan’s Island draw more eyes for advertisers paying far cheaper ad rates.
  2. Yep, those Celtics would heat up in the 4th quarter just in time for Mendy Rudolph to take over on their benalf.
  3. Hats off to a tough Raiders defense. I’m shocked but not surprised in the least that they won the game. Whenever two divisional opponents who know each other like the backs of their hands square off, anything can happen. I hope this informs McD and company for next Sunday.
  4. Have we already forgotten how much Poona Ford sucked this season?
  5. I’d appreciate a critical analysis of the difference between lucky and fortunate. Since every team in every game every week stands some chance to lose, then I guess all the winning teams are “fortunate” every single week.
  6. Yes, Josh showed up when it mattered most. But there is nothing “lucky” about great players rising to the occasion, especially when we’ve seen it time and time again from Allen over the years. Luck simply had nothing to do with it.
  7. If you’re gonna insist that we were “lucky” to win this game, then you also have to accept that we were UNlucky to have to rely on being lucky to win in the first place. The Chargers were the beneficiaries of a string of fortunate events in the game as well. And there was nothing lucky about the plays we made to win it at the end. We earned everything on that final drive. Pooh pooh it all you want but good teams find ways to win ugly games.
  8. He’s hangin’ with Fendi Onobun.
  9. Pretty sure it’s not Lou Piccone.
  10. The NBA has athletes like that. What a weapon that would be on the football field.
  11. Laughable. Tom Brady threw more balls into open zone areas than anyone. He was just a lot better at it than Minshew was on that particular play. And it’s not like Brady never threw a bad ball that made his receivers vulnerable, either. Sorry random internet dude, but if Kazee doesn’t take the cheap shot, it’s just another overthrown pass and you’re not giving a crap about anything Tom Brady has to say on the matter.
  12. Nor should he. The last thing he should be concerned about is some inane barstool debate among biased fans.
  13. Fred Williamson would agree with Jack Tatum.
  14. Yep. Best 1 tech DT gone, best LB gone, best CB gone. It is not wrong to say that hurt a ton in the short term. But the additions of Douglas and Joseph along with the unexpected turnaround by Dodson have more than helped to steady the ship.
  15. Any QB worth his salt would say he needs to make a better throw in that situation. But QBs make those throws all the time. Minshew missed. Simple as that. It was a poor throw, not a poor decision because the receiver found the open area in the zone and that’s where the ball is supposed to go.
  16. So QBs who throw to open spaces in zones are making unacceptable throws? We see that multiple times a game by QBs good and bad every week. Granted, the throw lacked a finer touch but it was a good attempt nonetheless. The only unacceptable aspect of the play was Kazee’s criminal lack of self control.
  17. Please allow me to settle it. Thurman = best since OJ, with apologies to Joe Cribbs Cook = best since Thurman, with apologies to Fred Jackson and Shady McCoy
  18. Are you at all familiar with the concept of “the journey?”
  19. Not to toot my own horn, but I predicted his HOF career early in his rookie year. I was dead serious and took some ribbing as a result. And yeah, these are the are the good old days so soak it in indeed.
  20. 17 games.
  21. It really is as simple as that. We are either good enough or we are not.
  22. I agree with everything here except perhaps the point about OJ not being a patient runner, the implication being that he wasn’t good at setting up his blocks and nothing could be further from the truth.
