  1. Per the bold, as a point of accuracy their first SB appearance was under Raymond Berry as HC and Tony Eason at QB (although Grogan played some as well) in 1985. They lost to the Bears in SBXX.
  2. More power to you. I don't object at all to criticism of the Bills front office as they've made their share of gaffes and questionable decisions. But I draw the line at using fantasy suppositions and biased projections onto totally fictitious events being used to support that criticism.
  3. I find it interesting that you pounded the table for him and yet I can’t recall a single, snarky “I told you so” from you when he broke out last year while, conversely, this place is full of people who never pounded the table for Mahomes before the draft, yet act like they did while spewing an criticism towards those who were against picking him. Funny place, this.
  4. We can compare all we want. No harm in that. But the only “theory” I’m putting forth is that you cannot use fantasy projections of totally unprovable “comparisons” as legitimate proof sources to support a claim as if they are factual. That has taken place here and I think it’s absurd. And there is no disagreeing that Mahomes has proven himself in a short time. That is real, and observable after the fact. Unfortunately, it can never be proven how he would have done here. We disagree on that. Let’s move on. Never, apparently.
  5. 1.) All three were Pro Bowlers before Mahomes started a game. Nobody is arguing Mahomes didn’t make them even better. 2.) Stands to reason. Doesn’t address the supporting cast on offense though. 3.) Of course Reid took him because he’s really good and he saw his potential. I never claimed otherwise, so don’t put words in my mouth. Feel free to indulge in all the fantasies of Mahomes in Buffalo til your heart’s content. I prefer to deal in realities.
  6. Mahomes being better than Allen is not the issue being discussed by me. We can all agree that he is and we can only hope Allen can be as good one day. I’m addressing the complete fantasy projections of Mahomes in Buffalo.
  7. Perhaps you should read some of the projections people have made then. How’s 35 TDs and second to Andy Luck in the AFC? Again, without the multiple Pro Bowlers he had in KC or Reid’s skill as an OC. As to the rest of it, please provide a proof source to back your claim that Mahomes would have flourished in Buffalo? Feel free to use a time machine so he will be drafted by us and also be able to have Hill, Kelce, Hunt as Pro Bowl skill players as well as making Reid our coach and OC.
  8. This is all fair. I gave Housley every benefit of the doubt until he started to display poor coaching ability routinely and across several aspects. Krueger will get the same benefit of the doubt as well.
  9. It may be for some, but certainly not for me, so don’t include me in that group. My post addresses ONE silly aspect in the Mahomes discussion: that ANY projection of how he would have done in Buffalo is complete fiction; a totally unprovable fantasy assumption. And that discussion runs the entire spectrum, from Mahomes sucking to Mahomes being the same thing he is in KC. It can be fun to speculate, but when people use their fantasy speculations to support unprovable claims, it becomes ridiculous. As we’ve seen here.
  10. But he won a Super Bowl as an OC and would have made Mahomes a star just like Reid did in KC!
  11. Very good? At best, they’re improved. On paper. We won’t know much until the games start to mean something. Like Mike Tyson said, “Everybody has a plan. Until you get punched in the mouth.”
  12. I think he will be fine, too. But if I were an opposing OC, I’d make it a point to try to manhandle him as often as possible and try wearing him down a bit. Easier said than done, but it’s a time honored strategy.
  13. Sorry if I missed it earlier. So, how about with Daboll last season then? I submit he would have been better, but given our line, and the absence of Hill, Kelce, and Hunt, I don’t believe he would have put up 50 TDs and had an MVP year, either. Its a ridiculous supposition, anyway. A complete fantasy where our own individual biases and projections have to tell the tale. No basis in reality. So I’ll leave the “what ifs” to others. Oh, that Allen train is on track all right. All the way to Canton five years after he hangs them up.
  14. I get the sense that Gunner isn’t so full of himself or so insecure in his beliefs that he wouldn’t own his opinion on Allen. Tattoo on his forehead? Kinda like when Aldo Raine carves into Hans Landa’s head?
  15. Just to be clear hear, Rick Dennison was not the reason our offense sucked. Our offense sucked because of the dearth of talent, especially at QB. Unfortunately, he couldn’t prove one way or the other if he was a good OC or not while here. I lean toward nothing special though. Simple question: Are you also of the opinion that if Mahomes had come here that he would have risen to the same quick, great heights under Dennison as he has under Reid in KC?
  16. I’m done with you and your antics. When you are capable of having an adult discussion, one without disingenuous premises, speciousness, putting words in people’s mouths, staying on point without going off on tangents because your point has been refuted, and having to constantly move the goal posts because you aren’t grown up enough to just admit that maybe you were wrong about something, then get back to me. In the meantime, it’s all a futile exercise. So, off with you now.
  17. I recall that now that you mention it. But you’ve been pounding the table for years for guys so I can’t remember all of your good ones.
  18. Depends entirely on the argument one is trying to make. ?
  19. Imo, Tyson in his prime couldn’t keep up with Ali’s quickness in his prime. He’d never get inside enough to do much harm as Ali had a 7” reach advantage. I’m talking Ali in his prime, not after he was reinstated.
  20. Like I said, I hadn't seen enough of him to comment either way. I do remember your breakdowns of both Watson and Mahomes. IIRC, you pounded the table for Watson and I respect that immensely. Others around here could learn a thing or two from your commitment to your assessments and, more importantly, your willingness to own them after the fact, whether they proved right or wrong.
  21. I'm not surprised you'd have to act this way given how you, once again, have to put words into another poster's mouth and then go off on an unrelated tangent, in order to make another specious point. Moving the goal posts is your go to m.o. when your failed argument gets tossed in your face. Every. Single. Time. "Have some respect for the process of discussion on this board."
