  1. Have to ask Pereira, I guess.
  2. According to Mike Pereira, who I would think has it under pretty good authority, when a player in the endzone either tosses the ball on the ground or to the ref, that act constitutes giving himself up. It’s interesting that the ref chose not to take it, though.
  3. What percentage of time do you think we played “19th century cover 2.”
  4. Just a thought and really no basis to it, but I wonder if both Brown and Beasley weren’t a little bit rusty given they hadn’t played in two weeks. In the past we’ve seen players coming off bye weeks that look a bit flat. Anyway, just a thought like I said.
  5. Agree entirely. It’s almost easier to take getting blown out in a loss where you know definitively you had no chance vs. ruminating over numerous chances you let slip away.
  6. Of COURSE there were concerning plays. But that’s not my point. My point is that anyone can take any unsuccessful play and say that if that play were successful, then the narrative changes. Honest people don’t ascribe different outcomes to fictional results like this guy did.
  7. You need to realize that being able to play each type of coverage at a high level offers the kind of scheme flexibility you wouldn’t enjoy otherwise.
  8. Yeah, a good receiver has to make that play. Then again, I just read yet a other idiotic post above that blamed Allen because a “better throw” would have put Brown in the endzone. That kid can’t win for losing and will NEVER satisfy a certain segment of this fan base. GREAT point about the importance of field position. When you’re constantly starting drives from your 10 or worse, you are limited as you simply don’t have your entire playbook at your disposal.
  9. What, exactly, did you see in Hanks’s reaction other than bemusement?
  10. I agree.
  11. I hear you, but trading a guy after tagging him can be messy. Especially if other teams would also balk at a $15m price tag for a DT who’s been unproven until this year. Then again, maybe he re-signs for a reasonable deal that Beans finds acceptable.
  12. While I get where you’re coming from, we may need to include all satirists, from Twain to Rogers to Saul, etc., and everyone in between, as huge frauds.
  13. Well, the tag amount for DTs was just north of $15m for this year. Given our needs in other areas, I wouldn’t be surprised at all if Beane and Co. thought that was too high.
  14. Like I said, it all depends on how his medical evaluations check out. He’s gonna be poked and prodded like never before and, if green lighted, he’s gonna get drafted high. I’ve not seen or heard a single evaluation to this point that agrees with your take that he is “garbage” and “isn’t very good.” Maybe he won’t be good at the next level, but he’s checked all the boxes to this point per the scouting community. There’s still some evaluation to be done vis a vis his mental acuity and that could cause him to drop, but I doubt it.
  15. Some critics have no F**king clue.
  16. If he’s medically cleared, he’s going top 6 to either Miami or LA Chargers.
  17. 11 of the 32 teams scored 24 or more this season. That’s no where near everyone else. That said, it would be nice to have been one of those 11.
  18. Yes. Just so they waive Rosen and we sign him thus GUARANTEEING we have the right Josh!
  19. He lost me in the first tweet when he said the whole narrative is different if Houston hangs onto the pics. Really? Is that the only thing that changes the narrative? It is when your predetermined conclusion needs to be supported. As intellectually dishonest as it gets.
  20. I’ve got company! Cool!
  21. I’m sure there’d be a TON of interest in Roman if he could bring Jackson with him. Don’t get me wrong as I give Roman a ton of credit for the schemes he comes up with for Jackson; stuff the league has simply not seen. But imo, Jackson is literally the only QB that can do what he is doing in that offense.
  22. Regardless of what he may have said previously, was anyone really under the impression that it wasn’t a total rebuild?
